Buxton Peak #3

The End of the Beginning

Rate this book
This book is now available in a re-written (and greatly improved-upon) version called Forever a Rock Christian Edgy Contemporary Fiction (Rock Star Redemption Series Book Five).

I highly recommend reading the new version! -Julie

In the beginning, it was all about the music…

Even a rock band as talented as Buxton Peak can’t stay on top forever. When drugs, betrayal, and tragedy rip the band apart, the guys find themselves short one drummer.

But front man, Ian Taylor, thinks he’s found the solution…

Nathanial Jackson plays drums for a small Christian rock band, but his talent exceeds theirs. He’ll never make it out of Nashville sitting behind them.

When the remaining members of Buxton Peak show up at Nathanial’s concert, he knows exactly what they want. A knowing glance and a handshake is all it takes to get him into the recording studio.

But starting over isn’t as easy as they thought. Ian believes his passion will be enough to keep his rock band from falling apart. He didn’t count on Nathanial challenging his leadership.

Can Ian and Nathanial set aside their differences and learn to work together? Can they find a new rhythm and recreate the sound fans expect from Buxton Peak? Or will tempers, pride, and outside pressures keep them from finding their way back to center stage?

This isn’t the end for Buxton Peak; it’s only the beginning…

Romance, clean; PG-13 with drug use mentioned, and some adult situations (not explicit)
This was a moving story. Andy's story with all of the band mixed in. Changes to the band, and they come together again after Megan graduates and they are in need of a new drummer. Tragedy doesn't divide them. Kai and Andy figure out that they want to be with their girlfriends at a deeper level, they realize the are family, the band, the women, and their music.
Loved how much back story their is, the hometown, the habits, the intensity with the music, doing some good with the money, and loving the places they make their homes. Just a fun read with characters figuring out the meaning of life and sharing their love of music with others in so many different ways.
Fun continuation of the story, but still a stand alone read if you haven't read the others. This was actually the first book I read.

Series #3

Done with 1 2 & 3 then a saw a book about Andy. I would have liked to read it 3rd oh well to late now lol. Sorry really though I can't say how much I enjoyed reading this series. Being Rock Stars an being faithful to the lord, theirselves, their spouses an bandmates was fantastic. No cheating or bad language. The writer's style is great. Excited to read more from her. One area in the book I cried my eyes out. Ian an his friends relationships grow. Having girlfriends spouses an children also changed the bands outlook on life an what was true in their hearts. I highly recommend these books 5 stars isnt enough..

Wanting more!

I really don't care for the back of the book blurb - the conflict only refers to a few pages at the beginning of the book. In normal situations, I wouldn't seem to interested because of what it says. However, I have been lucky enough to not judge this series by their blurbs.

I love the actual story! Great relationships, wonderful references to church topics, and a constant desire to read more. I hope that more books will come out about the Buxton Peak band.

Wow!!! What a great ending to the story of Ian Taylor and his super rock star band. Seeing how all the characters matured and chose better lifestyles. It was amazing to watch them make choices that helped others instead of remaining selfish. It was even nice to see Ian have to grow a bit and learn patience with others. Great trilogy. I highly recommend it!!!

This book finishes off the Buxton peak series. It is a good conclusion to a fun series. It is not all happily ever afters but many of the band members find their way together and with their lady loves. It is a must read / listen to readers that have read the rest of the series. It has a Christian theme to it.

Believe

This series is so different from most rockstar series. Gods place in this series is strong. If more of our world would have faith and follow God this world would be a better place. Julie you truly get it!

You'll need tissues for this book. In this third book of Buxton Peak, we are reunited with the band. Big changes are coming. I laughed. I cried. And cried some more. If you like a book with feels, this book has them.

I'm actually giving this book a 4.5 but since there is no 4.5 Julie you get the benefit of a 5 star. The reason for the 4.5 is it did feel a bit choppy. It seemed to jump here and there with the scenes. Having said that it was an emotionally charged story. I swear I almost had tears at the one part of a friend moving on from this world. I really felt for Ian. Then it suddenly talked about him not eating though it didn't show that at all, it was a bit of a back flash after. Great story with the preacher and wonder if there will be more or not.

Emotional and Moving

Ian really brings the band together in this final novel about Buxton Peak. His charisma is what captures the reader, but the new dynamics with the new drummer, Nathanial, add an emotional element to the whole story. As a reader, I see and feel the growth in the band, and it becomes quite moving, enough to bring tears to my eyes several times. The whole novel has a spiritual vibe that is gripping. This is my favorite installment in the series. My favorite moment is when the band is together, playing in Gary's basement. This scene, as well as many others, is written so beautifully. Even if you didn't read the Buxton Peak series from the beginning, you will find this novel easy to love. I enjoyed the straightforward scenes with Nathanial and Tyrell. Their interactions bring a real dynamic to the story.

The series is wrapped up beautifully.

I recommend this novel to Christian readers who love an uplifting tale with a bit of real life grit.

Reader rated for ages 14+ for mild sensuality.
