Listening Length: 6 hours and 13 minutes

Tristan is the second oldest of the Brennan brothers and the odd man out. Most of the Brennan men have careers in law enforcement, but as a psychiatrist, Tristan chooses to help people in a different way. Quiet and restrained, he is content to hover in the background of his more gregarious brothers. Then he meets two men, each broken and damaged from losses beyond their control.

Gabriel Simenson is mourning his lover's death. The random act of violence that took Gio's life has left everyone at All Cocks reeling. The only thing keeping Gabe from drowning in misery is the friendship he's forged with Micah, the newest model at All Cocks. He continues to struggle, and at the urging of his All Cocks family Gabe agrees to counseling with Tristan under one condition: Micah must go with him.

Micah Solo can relate to unbearable loss, having lost his leg and so much more in Iraq. The past two years he has been alone, adrift and vulnerable - the memories of war haunting his dreams, spilling over into his daily life. At All Cocks, Micah has found the acceptance he craves and the family he lost, but still he yearns for happiness and peace within.

The friendship between the three is instant, the mutual attraction evident. They circle each other, wanting more, yet unsure if it is truly possible. Is life the mundane reality they've each come to accept for themselves or do they dare to hope?

The All Cocks Stories is a series set within the world of online gay porn. Micah's PTSD is told in detail, including flashbacks to his time in Iraq.

Micah è l’ultimo modello arrivato nell’agenzia All Cocks.

Well, I finally finished.

I feel badly now for every time I complained about Smith doing time jumps that skipped relationship development. I am so, so sorry.

I take it all back. Seriously.

I feel like this book was in answer to those of us who complained about missing out on details and Smith thought, "Heh. They want details? I'll give them DETAILS!"

Smith then proceeded to write a story so full of DETAIL that it would drain every drop of entertainment of what could have been a kick ass hurt/comfort story.

Bogging down the story with so many DETAILS, many of which could (and should) have been left out, and dragging out the unnecessary angst and non-communication, until I was ready to scream for mercy.

I also had a hard time with Tristan being an active therapist for both Gabe and Micah even after they kissed and began having feelings for one another. I'm sure many won't find this an issue, because Tristan does assign over care once they all become lovers, but it was a niggling point for me.

And the time it took them to figure out they could be together as a menage? Well past 70% y'all. I mean come on! These guys have several friends in throupledome...they had role models! Why was there no lightbulb moment sooner?!

This could have easily been cut at least 50% and still had been a kick ass story. By the end I was honestly so tired of listening that when the final words were spoken I actually said a benediction.

Um. Anyway. Even Joel Leslie's narration wasn't enough to make me love this story.

So, yes, I take it back, T.M. Smith. You win. You do you, time jump all you want, just, please...don't give me any more details.

RECENSIONE QUI: https://thereadingslove.blogspot.com/...

description

I was provided a free audio via Audiobook boom in exchange for an honest review.

The blurb for this story really caught my attention and it hit so many things on my list of likes: partner death = angst; PTSD = angst; porn; ménage; odd brother out. And then for the audio to be narrated by Joel Leslie (who I have enjoyed before), yep, I knew I had to take a chance.

I've never read anything by this author and I am really interested in starting this series from the beginning. While Dare to Hope is a standalone novel, the characters continue from previous books in this series. I have to wonder if Gabe and his husband Gio were visible in past books; it would have made more of an impact for me if that were true.

This isn't a light read; it's filled with deep emotions and dark places. Gabe is mourning the loss of his husband who was murdered. Micah is a veteran suffering from PTSD after an attack that killed his wartime lover and the rest of his team. It also left Micah scarred and missing his leg. Tristan is a psychiatrist who is still going to school to get his full diploma, but is currently treating Gabe for his depression.

Micah and Gabe both work for All Cocks and live at the home of Victor, Andrew and Mathew, the owners/operators/married thruple of All Cocks. Micah and Gabe turn to each other for comfort and have the support of their All Cocks family during their rough times. Gabe and Micah comforting each other during their darkest times was sweet to watch. Neither man wanted to hurt the other and Micah is still grieving and can't emotionally connect with anyone. Sexual release is one thing, love is something else entirely. Micah is very understanding and doesn't turn his back on Gabe. Now that is true love and friendship.

When Tristan enters the picture and Micah eventually agrees to treatment for his PTSD, it's obvious Tristan cares for both Micah and Gabe.

It took a while for the relationship between these men to get past the "friends" stage because each party was confused as to what they wanted. They all knew they found each man attractive and wanted them, but they didn't know how the other felt. I sympathized with this because nobody likes rejection and not only that, but Gabe is still getting over the death of his husband, and neither man wants to push Gabe before he is ready.

I liked these men together, they just seemed to fit and be what the other needed. That's not to say there weren't moments that made me want to just yell at them and say TALK to each other. This is book 4 in a series and I wish I would have read this series from the start. Other characters beyond our 3 MCs are in this story, and it was really hard to keep track of all the names and who was who. Sometimes the flashbacks were hard to distinguish from present time and that added to the confusion.

I do recommend this story, but also suggest you don't just jump in with book 4. :)

Tristan + Gabe + Micah
Bello.

Reviewed for Rainbow Gold Reviews. A copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

I am a sucker for books set among the gay porn industry. Sometimes there are stories of men in that career who are doing for the wrong reasons, or are forced into it. For the most part, though, the books I’ve read show a positive place where the owners and other actors become like family to each other. This series is the second of the two scenarios and the boys of All Cocks Industries are an awesome set of characters.

Gabe was introduced back in book 1. His character was sweet, and his easy-going nature made his co-stars comfortable. As a secondary character he wasn’t focused on, but in the next two books, he met a man, quit the business, and then lost his love. I liked that even though he was no longer filming gay porn himself, he was still included in the story line. It highlights the family-like atmosphere created by the three owners and lovers that run the business. In this book, he is slightly broken, but still a caring man who comforts Micah when his PTSD gets the best of him.

Micah wasn’t introduced until book 3. He was a newer actor to the company but he also seems to go with the flow and works well with the other men on set. Because of him, I came to like one of the mc’s in the last book that I didn’t think I would. He is a big support to Gabe who is dealing with his loss, but he suffers from PTSD after returning from Iraq with ghosts that haunt him and an amputation. He never seems to feel sorry for himself, even with all his pain. He has picked up the pieces of his life as best as he can. But he finds it hard to imagine someone loving him enough to enter into a relationship with him with his issues. It doesn’t stop him from lusting after Gabe and Tristan.

Tristan is a therapist and brother to one of the main characters in book 3. He meets Micah and Gabe after an incident that put his brother in the hospital and took Gabe’s boyfriend. He is one of four brothers in an Irish-Italian family. Out of all of them, he seems to be the most reasonable and least stubborn. He begins to counsel both Gabe and Micah and a friendship forms between the three men. He begins to question his ethics when he starts wanting them both in his bed and his life.

All three of these men are extremely likable and sweet. I adore them together once they decide to take a chance. I felt like the author brought back the pacing that I enjoyed in the first book, and though time passes by, nothing felt rushed to me in this book. The boys from All Cocks Inc that are present in this book were ones I loved. I was happy to see how they were all doing after their books ended. Tristan’s family was as awesome as they were in book 3. It was a treat to see them again as well. I loved the lead up to the characters that will feature in book 5. Their story seems like it will be very interesting though possibly heavy in a completely different way than in this one. The author has created a world where the characters are never perfect, but when they are together with the ones they love, they are growing and striving to be the best they can be. I definitely recommend this book and the entire series.

Micah is an ex military serviceman who had some ptsd issues that needed to get resolved. In order to do that he needed the help of his two best friends. What would happen if these threw moved from best friends to something more?
Gabe had just lost the love of his life Gio. He so sweet and kind. Will he be able to open himself up to another relationship? Possibly his heart to two men?
Tristan is their psychiatrist. He's been tested Gabe for months since Gio's death and more recently Micah. Will he cross the barrier of doctor and patient?
These three are just amazing together. Once they figure out that they want to be a threesome that is. It is a slow moving book as in they don't just jump into bed with one another. They take their time and work through their issues. Gabe with his loss and Micah with his loss of his leg. This story is about recovery, love, joy, sadness, loss, friendship and family. How all the guys of all cocks band together and are there for one another.
It was an amazing read and I can't wait to see what's next. 5 stars.

Oh wow three very different and complicated characters bring something different to their throuple. Tristan is counselling Gabriel and Micah who both work at All Cocks studios. Gabriel is grieving for the loss of his partner in the previous book. Micah is suffering PTSD after serving in Iraq and losing his fellow soldiers as well as his leg in the line of duty. Both Grieving and Tristan who is sort of drifting until he starts counselling both men. It soon becomes obvious that they all have feelings for each other. No one wants to say it out loud in case of losing one or both of the other. We see how the three men work through a battlefield of emotions and the complications of being in a Throuple. Knowing they could not choose one over the other.

I love the three guys in this story and the story that unfolds. I said this after the last book but these three guys are my new favourite all cock boys. Another great read from T.M. Smith

There were two things wrong, in my opinion. First, a big chunk of the text is about other characters from previous novels. Second, it was all tell and no show. I like to feel what the mc's feel and for that, I need mentioning of some emotions and introspection.

And I noticed, when a narrator does not get pointers how the characters feel and sound, he keeps his tone flat.

My first 4* in this series, a truly beautiful story of pain and loss, bravery and sacrifice and, above all else, hope and love.

While there's a couple of annoying editing issues, this story is excellently crafted with three wonderfully different men who each find in the others the necessary support and comfort needed to move on in their lives.

It's difficult to write a throuple well imo, but Smith's three men simply work. I was only at 30% of the story when I realised that I knew these three men and knew them well enough to completely buy into their relationship.

There are lots of potential trigger issues in this but I really respect the care and attention to detail which has gone into writing how these men deal with PTSD and all its associated after effects. There was no magic dick, professional help was sought, explained and used, even with the proviso that it never fully leaves, coping mechanisms were given and some element of control was given back to both Micah and Gabe to a lesser extent.

As for Tristan, I want one of my own, a beautiful, emotionally charged lover, friend and therapist, who slowly finds a way to help these two men start to live again.

~AUDIO REVIEW~

“A symphony of pleasure and pain”

If I could give this more than 5 Stars I would.

This story was beautiful, emotional, angsty, and sexy.

Tristan, Micah, and Gabe are brought together through pain. Micah being hurt while in the military overseas and dealing with PTSD, Gabe losing his partner a year prior, and Tristan who helps the two through it with therapy and friendship. The intense vulnerability all three mean had was touching and raw, and the emotional support they found in one another was moving.

This was a beautiful rollercoaster of emotions that had me holding on tight not wanting to let go the entire time.

Joel Leslie did another fantastic job. Together the author and Joel bring the men to life in a way that really grips at my heart emotionally.

REVIEWED FOR LOVE BYTES - AUDIO

4.5 Stars

After first reading Dare to Hope in 2016 this is what I wrote at the start of my review:

After reading and enjoying the first three books in this series I was both looking forward to and curious about Dare to Hope. I wondered whether the author would be able to pull off another menage storyline as good as Fame and Fortune or after falling for Victor, Andrew and Mattie this one would fall a bit flat. I shouldn’t have worried – Dare to Hope was just as good although very different.

Dare to Hope is just as good the second time round and just as good on audio as it was in ebook. The previous book in the series eluded to a relationship between Micah, Tristan and Gabe but if ever three men came with excess baggage it was these three – PTSD and grief are just the tip of the iceberg. Menage is one of my favourite tropes when done well and the author pulls it off fabulously for the second time in the series.

There is friendship in this story before any kind of lust or romance. There is trepidation, nervousness and a lot of walking on eggshells as these men try to navigate new feelings for not one but two other men. There isn’t the flaming heat that we had in the previous books but instead we get a gentle story of three men falling in love whilst working to make each other whole again. It’s tricky, often messy and absolutely glorious when it finally falls into place. Add in Joel Leslie’s great narration and Dare to Hope comes highly recommended.

REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE

4.5 Stars

After reading and enjoying the first three books in this series I was both looking forward to and curious about Dare to Hope. I wondered whether the author would be able to pull off another menage storyline as good as Fame and Fortune or after falling for Victor, Andrew and Mattie this one would fall a bit flat. I shouldn’t have worried – Dare to Hope was just as good although very different.

If you have read the previous books in the series then you will already be familiar with the characters. You will also be aware of the interest there is between the three men although none of them have done anything about it – it’s just there crackling away in the background as they first navigate becoming friends.

Micah needs to heal from his time in Iraq. He may have almost come to terms with losing his leg but his PTSD is slowly strangling him with flashbacks and nightmares. Gabe is still grieving for Gio the lover he lost so cruelly when they were just starting out on their lives. Tristan is one of the Brennan brothers who bucked the family trend and didn’t join the police force instead choosing to become a psychiatrist and who has kept his sexuality relatively hidden from his family.

Friendship is easy for these men and they fall into it quickly. The problem lies just beneath the surface where each of them is attracted to the other but fearful of saying anything. There are a few stolen kisses, an occasional orgasm even, between them in pairs but it always feels as though something, or perhaps someone, is missing. There is real fear and uncertainty in voicing what they really want and need – for the three of them to be together.

This doesn’t have the same passion as Fame and Fortune, it’s a much gentler story and that is exactly what it needed to be. These men are damaged, grieving and unsure and it takes time for them to realise first what they want and secondly that they could actually have it. As always in the background are the All Cocks boys with their humour and support, there is still very much a family feeling with all these men, something I particularly enjoy in the storylines and with the introduction of a few new characters towards the end I am excited to see what will happen next.

If you’ve been following the series (which is not a requirement but recommended!) you’ll know that All Cocks is a porn site that caters to the idea of “gay for pay”. All the models have stage names and in the front of the book is a list of “characters”.

In this story we see three of people we’ve already met – Tristan – Jon’s brother the psychiatrist, Gabe – the guy who lost his lover in book three and Micah- the soldier who has lost a leg and is dealing with PTSD.

It’s been a year since Gio died and Tristan and Gabe are more friends than patient/doctor anymore but Micah is still struggling and hasn’t yet taken Tristan up on his offer of help.

All three men are attracted to one another but there are so many obstacles between them: none of them considers a triad at first, Tristan is their doctor, Gio hasn’t been gone long, Micah’s self esteem… the list goes on.

Eventually, through some unconventional means, the three find their way to one another as a whole and we get our HEA.

**

I’ve really loved this series (my reviews of books 2 and 3 are coming!). I like how relationship centered the stories are with only a minimal amount of drama to keep things moving. Though these guys are in porn there really isn’t an excessive amount of sex in these stories and what is there feels like it’s mostly to move the story forward.

I thought both Gio/Gabe and Micah/PTSD were really handled well.

There were a few things that bothered me:
In my copy there were a lot of mistakes – I’m sure it’ll be edited out but it was a bit distracting.

The lack of contractions. Normal conversation uses I’ll way more than I will and they’re instead of they are – etcetera – in all four of these books the lack of contractions in noticeable.

Victor’s speech – I love Victor and I love his accent. Sometimes it goes OTT and becomes far more juvenile and less accented.

The doctor/patient relationship – I think Tristan would fail in this story. I think he needed to have been more concerned about his role with these guys and handed their mental care to a buddy before making a move. This is a touchy subject and it was discussed I think it would have been a bigger deal.

All in all I loved these guys finding one another and I really enjoyed catching up with the other MCs from the previous books.

*sigh* Two men with trauma and a therapist who becomes a friend who form a friendship that eventually leads to more as they work through their challenges. I am not a fan of therapists having relationships with their patients, but this was a bit of a different situation. Tristan is Jon's brother and was becoming friendly with the All Cocks group and then helping them when Gabe's boyfriend died in How to Deal. Gabe and Micah both work for All Cocks and become very close (as friends) after Gio dies. Micah and Tristan are the only two that really connect with Gabe during that difficult time.

Meanwhile, Micah suffers from PTSD after being caught in an explosion in the military and missing a leg. He hasn't adequately dealt with the loss and his connection with Tristan and Gabe help him through that. I loved that there was a model with a missing limb at All Cocks, and I loved all of the challenges being written into the story and not being glossed over. Such great emotion was written and experienced for Micah.

This was more of a slow burn story (much slower than the past books). Their friendship is very strong and a good portion of the book works on their chemistry and strength as friends. The three guys struggle with having feelings for the other 2, but not thinking the other 2 feel the same way because a throuple is not common. I loved when the acknowledgement occurred that forced the three guys to sit down and discuss their feelings. Once that happened, DAYUM. Totally hot. :-)

Great book. Loved it.

With more people in a relationship than normal comes more fighting the relationship they all want that none know the others want.

I really like this book because Gabe, Micah, and Tristan go from being friends to lovers.

Gabe and Micah have loss on the forefront of both of their minds and they bond over that. And that is where Tristan comes in as the therapist.

This story is very well written and a bit longer than the other books in the series so far as it takes a while for the full relationship between these three to come to fruition. Which in my opinion makes it all the better because that says that they author didn't want to make a certain amount at the cost of leaving something out.

It does take the MC's a bit of time to figure out their feelings for one another and the fact that they all are feeling the same thing... the pull between all three of them.

It also takes some time for Gabe to get over the loss of his lover before he can delve into a new relationship.

There isn't an over-abundance of sex again which is nice, and since only Micah is working at All Cocks there are only a few scenes not between the MC's.

There are some sad parts as Gabe gets over Gio, and as Micah attempts to get his PTSD under control as he does have a few flashbacks and is using a type of therapy to help. Most of the book though is happy as the MC's get to know one another.

Book 4 brings us another menage. This time it’s Tristen, Gabe, and Micah. We pretty much saw this coming in book 3 so now we get to watch it all unfold.

Gabe and Micah are wounded. Micah physically as well as emotionally. But Gabe’s internal scars rival and war wounds Micah has.

Tristen is pretty much their glue. While working out the cobwebs, fighting the demons, and accepting that it’s just a bad year not a bad life, their feelings for each other grow. And it’s a bit nerve wracking.

This was actually a very slow burn book. They didn’t just jump into bed. They had so much to work out. We are talking PTSD, depression, acceptance, FAMILY!

Unravelling the psychology of this throuple was intriguing. That’s actually my favorite part about it. And what’s interesting, and maybe odd, is when I first realized I liked menage, a thought went through my head “Well, if there’s three than if one dies the other won’t be alone.” Morbid? Yeah but this book actually showed me that yeah in fact this does work. Gabe can’t handle another loss but he’ll never be alone again. Same for all of them.

So my morbid thought gets validation in this books. So, thank you TM Smith! Lol

This was a great addition to this series. SO you should be reading it.

Hands down, my favorite in the whole series so far! And it's because this is the first one that I felt didn't TELL me the story, I got to read and experience Tristan, Micah, and Gabe falling in love with each other.

I loved the emotion in this, as Micah and Gabe started falling for each other, but both feeling like something was missing. And Tristan and Micah having their moments together, but also still wanting Gabe included. I enjoyed getting to see some of the previous couples and characters in this, and I enjoyed that the epilogue set things up for the next book.

My one wish is that we had gotten more of them as a threesome all together. They don't all commit to each other until it's like the very last quarter of the book, and I would have loved to read more about them getting into the relationship all together. Maybe we'll get to read more of them in the next book?

This is an Advanced Readers Copy, there may be minimal errors as the ARC is set prior to completion of edits. I received this for free in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author for letting me get into this series, and I'll be waiting for the next book!

Dare to Hope is the fourth book in the All Cocks Series. And it is the best one out of the whole series. Don’t get me wrong I loved them all, but it’s something about Gabe story that truly reached my heart. It's also the first one that let me experience the story. I got to read and experience Tristan, Micah, and Gabe falling in love with each other.

I watched Gabe and Micah fall in love. I felt their emotions, but I also felt the need for someone else to love them equally. I love the moment that Tristan and Micah had together but I still felt like Gabe was supposed to be included. I like have T.M always include the other couples in the current book. She never fell to give you a preview of the next books in the epilogue.
The only thing I wanted more of is the three of them together. I wish they had of committed a little earlier in the book. Ok I guess you can say I just love a hot threesome that has just as much love as a twosome if not more. I gave this book 4 ½ loving stars. Bring on the next book?

This was my fav in the series. Loved the chemistry between the three MCs. Gabe's broken heart, Micah's broken spirit, and Tristan's soothing and steadfast TLC for them both made for a great read. There were some serious LOL moments when Gabe & Micah were introduced to Tristan's family. Gran's hot Irish temper and uncensored way of speaking her mind were hysterical. The Brennans, the Dimirs, and the boys from All Cocks are an engaging and entertaining supporting cast. (Wonder if we'll get William and Beau's story next???)

Loved it! Loved this whole series...each of these books was such a journey for me. I love how all the characters connected to each other on many different levels as partners, family or friends.

Seeing how they all grew as individuals and worked hard to overcome some serious, and how we were taken along and included for that, was amazing.
Can't wait for number 5!

Loved this!

I was heartbroken for Gabe and Micah and am so happy they got their story. Tristan was the perfect person for them to complete their lives with. Each there for one another, filling the empty spaces and making up for the deep hurt in their hearts. I cried and laughed with them through their journey. Well written, I could not put it down!
