When Levi Miller goes out of town and leaves Cheryl to look after his land, she never imagines she’ll have to do anything more than a quick drive-by every day. However, when she encounters a spate of mysterious digging episodes, which have torn up the fields Levi plans to seed soon, she must swing into action—with the help of a new sleuthing sidekick, Zoey Marsalla. As questions about Zoey and her story are uncovered, Cheryl must decide if she can trust her own instincts. Is the truth buried right under her nose and she simply can’t sniff it out?

Hello!

I’m imagining you. You walk past as I water my front flowerbeds and we wave. You check the time as we both stand in a long line at the grocery store. You sit in front of me in church. I’m at my table in the coffee shop and you’re at yours.

We may smile politely and move on with our separate lives. Or one of us may speak, a simple invitation to conversation, and the words flow between us.

Here the adventure begins. When we meet someone new, we never know where it might lead.

I’ve been married over 40 years and have two adult kids and a son-in-law. We live in stunning Colorado at the foot of the Rockies, where the day lilies in my back yard grow as tall as I am. (No short jokes, please.)

Not every piece of my life is pretty, though. Some days I want to throw out whole chunks. But I am living each day looking for the grace of God to me, in me, and through me. Having your companionship along the way will help uncover a lot of great stories.

Book 21 in series. Seth and Levi are called away to help an uncle with his spring planting while he's fighting his illness. When Levi leaves he asks Cheryl to watch over "our" land. Levi has hired an Englisher to come and do the digging and grading for the farm and house. Meanwhile Cheryl's close friends have planned a surprise birthday party for her on Levi's farm. They kidnap her in front of her shop and drive her out to the farm, scaring her to death. While their celebrating they notice someone has been digging holes all over his property. Cheryl is worried about whats happening and tries to find out whats going on. She meets Zoey a new person in town. She happens to have the same bright red hair the Cheryl has and looks a little like her too, only younger. Together they checkout some leads on the digging. Little does Cheryl know Zoey knows a lot more about what happening then she lets on.

Digging Up Doubts is a fantastic mystery written by Olivia Newport in the Sugarcreek Amish Mystery series. This story starts out with intrigue. Cheryl Cooper has been kidnapped right outside her store, the Swiss Miss. When it is revealed who the kidnappers are I am sure it will bring a smile to your face. But at the location they take her starts a new mystery. Holes are being dug on Levi's land. Now Cheryl and Naomi are left to figure this out. When they start piecing things together the person responsible shocks Cheryl. The story that leads to a hidden treasure on Levi's land is shocking. The author has done a wonderful job telling her story thru her characters.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

A little different but still holds you in until last page.

I love all of the Sugarcreek Amish Mysreries. I would highly recommend this series. I am reading them in order, which I enjoy because the people and events start to feel like family. But you don't have to. Also these books can be enjoyed by any age group.
The mystery was a little different from the others, but you could not put it down until the last word on the last page.

I enjoyed this book as it took a different turn from the others, and it leans more towards new friends in Cheryl's life. She has become a fixture in Sugarcreek and is really at home. Levi leaves town and leaves Cheryl in charge of his land and of course, a mystery arises. The lead character in this book often makes a fool of herself but does not let that deter her from the search for the truth. She is hardheaded, impatient, and determined to a fault. I think that is why I like her so much,

This book reminds us how much we can learn from family air looms! I have the pleasure of holding gifts from both my Father and Mother's Moms. I will try to pass the stories I remember to my son before i'm gone.

This was annoying. This man's land is being dug up repeatedly. They figure out who it is and because "she's on a mission" they seem to think it was okay that she trespassed and vandalized this land and decide to help her.

For some reason, I have really not been a fan of the side/visiting characters for the last two books.
