This is a rather sweet story of two mature people with painful pasts who meet by chance in Singapore believing they will be ships that pass in the night.
Months later Kris meets her new boss at a Melbourne Television company and it turns out to be Nathan Boyle, the same Nate as the one in Singapore.
At first wary of each other, the barriers are eventually broken down and they look to be on the way to being good friends and colleagues. Until Kris finds out that she's pregnant.
Neither of them are prepared for this eventuality. Kris doesn't have the sort of background that provides experience or support for love and family.
Nate has too much guilt wrapped up in his memories to be able to adjust easily to the idea of becoming a father.
With both of them denying their feelings and afraid of the future it is quite a jump for them to consider how to best deal with the situation.
It takes a lot of revelations and a health scare for Kris to finally put everything out on the table so they both understand the truth about their feelings.
I really enjoyed this story. It was a pleasant, sometimes a little emotional, read.

3 ½ Stars ~ This is a lovely romance with a hero tortured with guilt and a heroine secure in her career but insecure when it comes to relationships. They share a look across a hotel bar. Kristen wondering about the sadness barely veiled in his eyes. Nate wondering what on earth is the attractive woman muttering into her drink about. Uncharacteristic for both, they share a drink then dinner and with neither wanting the night to end, they spend the night in Nate's hotel room. No strings, no expectations; they don't even know each other's last name.

When Kristen starts her new job, she is shocked to discover her new boss is the man from that incredible night she still dreams about. Nate is equally shocked, but determined that they can still work together and keep everything strictly business. Until Kristen faints and then is told she's pregnant.

I really liked the reluctant bonding between these two. They fought their feelings. While Kristen realizes she's in love with Nate, she's adamant not to accept his proposal without love. Nate's struggle with his past is tearing him apart, which makes his wake up moment on all that he has to lose all the more poignant. I enjoyed Kristen and Nate's journey to HEA.

The hero and heroine had a one night stand in Singapore where the heroine worked and the hero was doing a day of business. When the heroine decided to go back to Australia, she got another job as a TV producer. That's when the heroine realizes that her new boss is the one she had the one night stand with. As time continues to pass, she also learns that she is pregnant with her boss's baby.

When she finally tells the hero about the baby, he freaks out. He lost his wife some time ago and wasn't ready to commit to a new relationship but that doesn't stop him from asking the heroine to move in and marry him. Which at that time she turns down.

In this book, the hero and heroine try to move on from their past and face the future together but are their doubts and past experiences too much?

It was a great read, I didn't love, love it but I did enjoy embracing the novel, characters and emotions present.

This was a sweet story. It's about a woman who becomes pregnant with her bosses baby. But when she has sex with him he wasn't her boss yet. So they were very surprised to say the least. It's a sweet story watching them try to balance their career and their impending parenthood. Of course there are some things from their pasts that hinder the potential relationship. This is a suggestive romance if at all. So any age can read it.
