This is a reasonably good, but not perfect, intro book on DIY lithium battery production, something that's a useful skill whether you're into ebikes or not. The book discusses different battery types, covers battery configurations and tells you how to actually build them. I'm guessing it also goes hand in hand with the VRUZEND kit which is very useful for building batteries without any soldering required. What the book lacks, if anything, is any concrete details on things like step-up/step-down converters, ways of protecting circuitry (e.g., MOSFETS), any information about waterproofing, and I would like a lot more info about what one would use these capabilities for. For instance, even though the author is, like me, an ebike enthusiast, he doesn't mention anything related to powering ebike lights (and the options available), powering USB devices as well as more power-hungry ones (e.g., portable loudspeakers), or any sort of useful ways in which a battery can be used on an ebike (apart from powering the motor, obviously). I would also like to see more practical projects and more discussions around different chemistries, most notably LiFePO4 which seems to be very trendy nowadays. But, anyways, this is a good introductory battery construction book.

If you have ever thought about getting into lithiums, eBikes, power walls, or even going off grid, this is the book you need. Micah did a absolutely fantastic job with this book, along with all the others he published. From his teachings alone, I have found myself much further into lithium batteries than I would have solely dreamt about. Thanks to Micah's inspiration between printed pages an online videos, I am completely confident with building my own skateboard lithium ion packs. Please do yourself a favor and purchase this book, also do a quick search for his videos... I will guarantee that you will soon find yourself building battery packs that are bound to take you places you may not have expected. I though thoroughly enjoyed every page he wrote, an enjoy every more that his books are a perfect preview of his level of calmness an reassurance. Truly helps you relate an understand everything he has to offer.

thorough, well organized, and accurate wording. I never get confused along the way. I usually don't give 5 starts but there's really room for subjectivity here. It's exactly what the title says: All you ever need to know about Lithium Batteries as long as you're gonna get hired by an engineering company, in which case, this book doesn't replace a professional degree

Efficiently bridges theory and practice.

Allowed me to build a lithium battery pack to power raspberry pis, by using mostly salvaged parts of old electric trash. Using the 12-24V Cycle Saturator from Grin Technologies for custom charge profiles.

I learned to not DIY my own lithium batteries because they're easy to turn into accidental flamethrowers. All in all, worth the price of admission, if only because I'd get in trouble if I burned down the house.

Great book!

Thorough and detailed. I wish there had been more images and photos in the project section, but overall found the content useful and interesting.

Pretty basic book. Good for beginners. For me, it lacked adequate depth. I wished there was more information on Battery Controllers. Quick read.

Needed guidance for planning and implementation. Micah's book is very readable and serves as a veritable "how to". A good read

Lot of great nformation

Learned a lot about lithium batteries. Too wordy, lots of repeats, book could have been half the size without leaving any thing out. Still a great read.
