When Heather Shepherd gets the call from Ryan about a victim, the last thing she expects to walk into is a hospital room. But that's exactly what happens: a young equestrian super star, Fred Nolan, has been murdered after a horsing accident at the local center. The trouble is, there isn't any evidence to help the investigation, apart from some grainy surveillance footage from the hospital hallway outside his room. Regardless, Heather is determined to get to the heart of the case. She sets off with a box of her Cotton Candy Fluff Donuts tucked under her arm, her best friend in tow, and a thirst for justice drying up the back of her throat. But this time, the range of suspects muddles the evidence, and the testimony is anything but clear - an eclectic mix of Hillside's old and new threaten to tip the answers into obscurity. Heather has to figure this one out before another innocent falls prey to the killer's murderous whim, all while balancing the fear of a new and dangerous addition to Hillside's pool of citizens.
Now that Amy is a full fledged investigator, the witty comments in the back ground has bee cut down to a minimum, I believe she's supposed to have been written to finally understand how inappropriate it is. Amy has advanced and aged a little in this book, which I find is nice, as she is in her 40s, similar to Heather.
This murder was fairly easy to figure out, but like always, I enjoyed that we got to see the background of the victim and his family life. That is always my favourite part of any good mystery book.
This was a good continuation to the book series. Also, now I want cotton candy.
Cotton Candy Fluff Murder is the 42nd installment in Susan Gillard’s Donut Hole Cozy Mystery series and is a quick, easy, fun, and clean read, but is in need of proofing. Heather’s latest case for the Hillside Police Department is the death of Fred Nolan, who was injured while horseback riding at the Hillside Equestrian Center. While a patient at Hillside Regional, someone snuck into his room and disconnected life support. Heather and Amy interview interested parties while Ryan (Heather’s husband) pursues other leads. Kate Laverne is still harassing Heather with her childish antics.

This is another wonderful story in the life of Heather Shepherd and her friends and family. Full-time Donut shop owner and part-time private investigator, helping her detective husband solve murder cases. Then there is the downside to her life, her nemesis, Kate Laverne. The woman who is making it her life's work to bring Heather down. This time Kate may have help. I was totally engrossed in this book and hated to see it end. Certainly keeps your attention!

This week's visit to Hillside finds Heather . and friends busier than ever. With business at the Donut Shop booming, caring for her daughter, and helping her husband solve murder cases, she barely has time for anything else.
After forty one trips to Hillside, Texas, Heather Shepherd has become very familiar to readers of the Donut Hole series. Susan Gillard keeps the series fresh by expanding recurring character relationships, adding new folks from time to time, and creating some unique manners of death. If you're a fan of cozy mysteries, spend a little time with the Donut Shop gang. You're likely to enjoy the trip.

What can I say? I've read quite a few of the Donut Hole Cozy Mysteries and given them great reviews that I'm at a loss for words! Love 'em all! Highly recommended!
When a local man who is in a coma dies due to having his machines shut off Ryan, Heather and Amy are off and ready to find the killer. There is a lot of suspects and not much information to find the killer but determined Heather will figure it out.
Once again Heather and Amy are assisting Ryan with a murder. This time the victim is Fred Nolan, whose life support is unplugged. He was injured while riding at Hillside Equestrian Center. Suspects are interviewed and clues are gathered. Could jealousy play a role in his death? Entertaining and a fun easy read.

Red Velvet cupcakes thrown on Heather Shepherd's , owner of Donuts Delights and certified investigative consultant to the Hillside Police department, front home windows and a threatening note left in her front door. Did Heather's nemesis go to far this time?? Or is the note coming from the murder she is investigating with Amy Givens, certified investigative consultant and Hillside Police Detective Ryan Shepherd. A young boy has a horseback riding accident. While in the Hillside Regional someone stuck into his room and pulled the boy's life support. David, the dog and Cupcake, the cat accompany Heathers and Amy on their suspect interviews. The Donut of the week is the Cotton Candy Fluff Donut. This is book # 42 in the Donut Hole Cozy Mysteries series. It can be read as a stand alone. I volunteered to read this eBook. Thanks to the author for theopportunity. My opinion is my own.
This instalment of The Donut Hole Mystery series definitely took me by surprise. Susan Gillard has me biting at the bit to learn what happens next in the always fascinating adventures of Heather Shepherd and Amy Givens.
I love Heather and Amy together. Lilly is really cute. The storyline was a good one. I enjoy reading your books. I loved the ending. Keep up the good work.
This is the 42nd in the series. In this one Heather , Amy, and Ryan investigate the murder of a young man in a coma at the hospital. The interview his buy's family and what a bunch they are. At the same time Kate shows up in the donut shoppe with a known criminal and create a scene. What will she do next ? With all this going on, will Heather be able to figure out who done it ?
good read. story was good, had personal reactions and friends. early clues lead you one way but later it all shifted a way that. hhad never even been hinted. I enjoyed the book except the hubnger for fresh doughnuts. m ....
Susan Gillard has done it again. I normally don't write long reviews but I am at my computer today so I thought I would give it a try. Ok so this book starts out once again with Kate Laverne having another problem with Heather Shepard but nothing concrete. She is just upset with the success that Heather is having. Kate honestly in my opinion needs to find a man haha. Ok so the murder that takes place is of a young man who was on life support and someone turned off the machine to take him off. This was without the consent of the parents or the doctors so Detective Shepard is classifying this a homicide. But what Heather did not expect is that the young mans family is basically crazy. I mean at one point during the book I had my mouth hanging open because these people just seemed so dysfunctional. It was really sad and kind of made me think, if I was on life support what would I want my family to do. If there was no hope for me, please shut off the machine. It really is a waste of money and make the grieving processes even harder on the members of the family that are left.
This was really one of those books that made you mad, but sad at the same time. At this point I am so over Kate Laverne that she and her cupcake shop can just disappear lol. Great Job Ms. Gillard and I can not wait to read the next book.
What starts at the nursing home doesn't stay there.
More murder in this not so small town. Ryan is again calling for help from Heather but now she has a new partner to help solve the case faster. Cute stories with the continued enjoyment of being around Heather and her extended family.
