Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
I'm so happy that this book (#10, Wolves Of Desire) finally came out, since I've read every one of them so far. It was also satisfying to me to have Kimball know about shifters somewhat early in the story, so that the plot doesn't get dragged out. Kimball is a human nurse whose mate is Grayson, the wolf shifter. Kimball has been hurt and deceived by guy after guy resulting in serious trust issues. I didn't like Kimball too much in the beginning, because he was making a lot of selfish choices. There's so much that goes on in this book, and even a new two headed creature comes to town. I wanted there to be a bit more with Grayson and Kimball together, getting to know each other better, but Grayson spent most of the time nursing Kimball back to health, however, this book is packed with lots of shifter goodies and as always, I enjoyed it, and I'm waiting for the next. I was totally transfixed with this action-packed installment. :)
I can't believe Kimball didn't go for the "deserted island" plan... trust me, I would have been hopping a plane so fast I would have made The Flash look slow!
This was perhaps the most detailed story so far... it still has it's issues, but I was VERY entertained! We met a lot of new characters, who are getting their own series... yeah, I think that might have to wait a while for me! Sebastian is a new "big, bad" and we still have at least one baddie running free from down below. WHEW, this one will wear you out and make you think about starting a spreadsheet... if you haven't already! *grin*
Now this was entertaining.. With some new bad guys escaping and finally something on the front of exposure happening AND a new elite group to take down hunters...
Kimball's extreme bad luck wasn't funny... but like an expression of "Really? If I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck" kind of thing.
Oh, and Sebastian's new abilities? What to come of that? Should be (hoping hoping hoping) interesting to see where we are headed now (please don't eff it up)
Not bad. Some of the more "exciting" scenes felt a little stop-and-go because a lot of sentence fragments. I don't feel there was a lot of relationship development so much as a focus on the things going on in the world. I did enjoy the excitement of all the things happening. Do wonder what will happen with Sebastian next.
A little too much secrecy around Dark Knights. Why be angry at the people you hire when they go above and beyond what you want them to do. I guess I missed a book somewhere didn't know Jaden had a grown kid, who might have had a kid. I love Grayson and Kimball. He wants to wrap his mate in a bubble and protect him. It's not funny, but poor Kimball he is already hurt and an old lady hits him with a car.
I liked this latest installment in the Wolves of Desire series. I liked both Kimball and Grayson as the MCs. I must say, I felt sorry for poor Kimball and everything that he went through in this story. The story itself kept me interested. There was a lot going on. As usual, there are a lot of unanswered questions and dangling plot threads at the end of the book.
All in all, it's a good installment to the series and I can't wait for the next one.
