Perfectly broken was a nice easy read. I was able to read it in one day. I liked the way the story was told from both Cassie and Jackie's point of view. But it felt like the author was telling the story instead of the characters. I gave it there stars because I wish the author has started from the beginning of Cassie and Jack's story. Instead of building up to their relationship, the author jumped to the end. Or towards the end, and let the characters tell us about their backstory. I felt cheated of a love story. I would like to have seen more suspense. A few notes here and there and a face to face at the end was not enough.************

THE kidnapper/killer appears out of nowhere. He was never in the story said suspect. It was only at the end he's appears. It's not who the author almost seems to be hunting at. I would like to have read a chapter here or there with the killer point of view and more about why he was taking all these women. It has to more than just because they walk past and ignore him. Why is he so angry? What made him like this? Plus if he was taking all these women, why did he let the first girl live? Too many unanswered questions. And my final complaint was everything was wrapped up way too neatly at the end.

Excellent serial killer kidnapper mystery. Cassie is the only living survivor of The Carver a man who attacks women in Chicago. Jack Stone the lead detective has a personal interest in Cassie, he feels he failed her by not catching the attacker, Cassie moved away from Chicago and a year later The Carver kidnapped another woman on the same day Cassie decides to contact Jack to renew their friendship. He still has the case to solve and she suffers from PTSD. Will this new development make her worse? Will Det. Stone find the missing woman or will more be taken? Will Cassie recover from the horror of the time she spent with the Bad man, will he be caught? This book has a wonderful cast of characters and an excellent story that could come right off the front page of a major newspaper . The atmosphere of the book made you feel as if you were there. I could see the fall colors and hear the crackle of the leaves. Ms. Scott puts colors and pictures in your eyes and sounds in your ears. Enjoyed her book so much I read two in one night and started my third! Definitely will read more!

A deranged killer was grabbing pretty women off the streets. After a bit they would find their dead bodies. With no solid leads the case is at a stand still. Until one the victims Cassie Miller escapes.. But she is so traumatized she can not remember the details. The detective Jack Stone is assigned to the cases. He felt drawn to Cassie from the start. But she could not stand to be in the place where the trauma happened so leaves Jack behind. After a few months she calls Jack back and tells him she loves him. But once again the killer has her in his eye.

Very Good Only......
It sounds weird to say that considering the truly life altering experience our heroine goes through. Good events do follow in the form of an amazing man who loves our heroine truly and unconditionally.
I would have liked a little more descriptive romantic encounters between the two lovers and since the author seemed to have no problem with details of the terrible assaults our heroine went through I wouldn't have thought a little sexual spicing up of our lover's encounters would have been too difficult.
I do intend to try another Jillian Scott book hoping for a little more umph!

I received this free e-book from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. Cassie is the only surviving victim of a serial killer named The Carver. He kidnaps women, holds them captive while he rapes,starves and tortures them before eventually killing them. It has been a year since Cassie was able to escape and she is finally moving on. Jack is the detective assigned to the case and the one who found Cassie almost dead behind a dumpster. They are in a relationship and while he is visiting her she gets roses delivered and he gets a letter with photos all from The Carver.

This surpassed my expectations! I really liked the characters -- they are complex and "broken" but striving to move past that. They are a great match and really bring out the best in each other. The plot was very engaging, and I liked how the flashbacks were briefly mixed in with the current day. There was a good mix of action and romance, and I couldn't put it down! Looking forward to more from this author!

Scott provides a snipet until undeniable love. You will not be able to put the book down once you start with the nepotism of love between Jack and Cassie however the way the provide support for one another will make you a believer of the inevitable.The end will live you into understanding how sociopaths gaim control over there victims.

Love it!
I love everything about this book: the pace, the characters, the ending, everything. I especially love how Ms. Scott took such a horrendous act and found way to turn it into something beautiful. Just as the title states, she took the broken pieces and somehow made them fit perfectly together.

Cassie has been thru hell but lives to tell about it. Jack has also had a tough time getting divorced. The 2 come together to see if they can make a romance work and to finally find the man who hurt Cassie.

Love this book!
I seldom read a book twice but I did with this one. As a matter of fact I have never read any book twice! This was the exception..it had every thing I like in a good book. Great murder scene and you were there watching as everything unfolded.

Great police thriller
This story kept you on your toes until the end. Never would have suspected one of the victims was involved. Loved the romance between Jack and Cassie. Can't wait to read more from this author.

Great book!
Great romance & thrillrer in one. Loved the very end... The epilogue made it a happy ending for the ones that needed it.

I did not see that coming. This was amazing!!! I loved the descriptions of the crimes. I could really picture it. I just wish the descriptions of the love making was just as vivid. "Hours later they were holding each other." I want you to describe what was happening during those hours. In great detail. I still loved it.
