Hilda the Hen fell asleep under a rosebush one afternoon and was startled when she woke up to find out it was night time. Hilda was scared to go back to the henhouse alone, but she knew she had too. She started back to the henhouse and kept coming across scary obstacles she thought. The obstacles really weren't scary though. The rest of the story is about her journey back to the henhouse and the way she faces her fears.

I thought this was a cute book. It had a good story and was short. I will always love animal books. It keeps me entertained.

This book could be used to talk about facing your fears. I think kids need to hear about succeeding in facing your fears. It is a scary thing no matter how old you are.

A super fun book about how things are scarier in the dark. The pictures seem a little dated, but the kids still liked the story and liked guessing what the "scary" thing really was and what Hilda should do about it.

Cute book for kids that are afraid of the dark. Amazing how ordinary things can take on a creepy look at night whether you are human or chicken.
