A sweet and lovely inspirational Christmas romance about two childhood friends who are reunited after twenty years. Single mom Maggie returns to Love, Alaska, with her young son Oliver after she inherits her late uncle’s gift shop, Keepsakes. Once there, she meets up again with her childhood friend, Finn, who helps Maggie in getting the gift shop back on its feet again in time for a Christmas grand re-opening. While working together, Finn and Maggie grow closer and find themselves falling in love. This was such an enjoyable romance with two main characters who both have tragic pasts. The story is filled with wonderful, kindhearted characters and the festiveness of the holiday season. Maggie’s son Oliver was adorable and I loved how Finn bonded with him so quickly. The Alaskan setting was beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop for this heartwarming Christmas story.

I love this series, but this book has to be my favorite so far. Oliver is just the cutest kid ever. Maggie's and Finn's past are heartbreaking, but in the end is what brings them together. Watching their love develop when they both thought they didn't deserve to be loved was beautiful.

You will definitely need a box of tissues for this one!

Woohoo -- back in Love, Alaska, this time with a holiday love story that has all the earmarks of the perfect Christmas tale. A small town chock full of friendly folks who believe in love, a hero and heroine who don't -- at least not for themselves, and a little boy who desperately wants a dad. And there's plenty of Christmassy stuff to make things extra festive. Loved the glimpses into the lives of past heroes and heroines (this is the sixth in the Alaskan Grooms series but all read as a standalone too.) A heartwarming tale brimming with seasonal magic and second chances.

An Alaskan Christmas: Alaskan Grooms is by Belle Calhoune. Once more, Belle has managed to present a wonderful romance amid the beautiful scenery of the Alaskan Wilderness. Her characters are so realistic it seems they could be guests in your own living room. The wonders of Christmas celebrations are brought to life in the Christmas festival in Love, Alaska.
Finn O’Rourke was anxious to meet his passengers for the plane trip to Love, Alaska. It had been twenty years since he had last seen Maggie Richards. His life had been hell in those intervening years. He lost his Mother to death, his Father to simply leaving, his grandfather to death, and his brother to his own actions. Now he had returned to try to make amends with his brother. He hoped to be able to go in with him in O’Rourke Charters. He had just learned he would inherit some money from Tobias Richards’ estate if he worked with Tobias’ niece in getting Keepsakes back in business. Now he just had to find the right time to tell Maggie about the twist. He wasn’t sure how she would take it.
Maggie Richards was coming home to Love, Alaska with her son Oliver. She thought of her Uncle Tobias’s place as home as it was the only consistent place she knew in her life. She had been widowed a year and was wanting to recreate a whole new life in Alaska. All the town knew was her husband had died in a robbery at a convenience store. She didn’t tell them that he had been robbing it at the time. This knowledge had resulted in her losing her job, and her life in the East. She left to keep Oliver from having to live with the fallout of his Father’s deeds. She had relied on Sam and believed in him and it got her nothing but trouble. She was determined not to rely on another man. She could do this on her own. How will she react to Finn’s news?

Maggie Richards and her son Oliver have decided to move to Love ,Alaska to start a new life . Maggie is a widower so she really needs this move. Maggie's uncle Tobias recently passed away and he left her his home and business( Keepsakes) in his will. Because of this Maggie decides to move there for her fresh start. Maggie has a secret in her past that she is dealing with to. Her uncle always wanted her in Love and now he gets that wish. Finn is a childhood friend that has also came home to start a new life. Will Maggie be able to make Keepsakes a success? will Maggie get the fresh start that she needs? How does Finn fit into all of this? Finn O'Rourke is a pilot and a Love resident . He returned home after running away when his mom died. He has a lot of guilt concerning his mothers death and that's what drove him away for a while. Now he is back and wants to buy into his brothers business O'Rourke Charters. He wants to be partners with his brother. Finn and Maggie were friends as children and now she is back to. Tobias has some stipulations in his will . Finn has to help Maggie with Keepsakes in order to inherit the money that Tobias left him .If he gets this money then he can be partners with his brother. Will Finn be able to help Maggie with her shop? Will Finn become partners with his brother ? What will happen with his and Maggie's friendship? This is the last book in the Alaska Grooms series. It can be read without reading the others in the series. I encourage that you read the whole series. Mrs. Calhoune doesn't disappoint and this is a really good series. I love this book and I want to go back and read the others in this series. I enjoyed Maggie and Finn's story. I liked how the author wrapped everything up in this book . Both characters has to overcome things in their past so they could move forward. This is a clean , sweet romance .

Maggie and Finn were inseparable when she would come to visit Love, Alaska as a child. Life happened, they both grew up, and 20 years passed without them seeing each other. Maggie inherits her late uncle’s house and business in Love, Alaska, which brings her right back to Finn.
Maggie is a widow; her late husband was killed while he was stealing from a store. Her young son is the light of her life and she is determined to create a stable and happy life for him, which does not include entering the dating scene. Her adorable son, on the other hand, is looking for a new dad!
Finn has been a broken person ever since his mom died in a tragic accident. That event started a whole list of awful events that caused him to withdraw from everyone he held dear. Even though he is back in Alaska, he still does not see himself worthy of love and refuses to consider the prospect of ever marrying or being a father.
Will the two of them be able to work through their past heartaches and tragedies to live life in the here and now? Or will they remain tied to the past?
I thoroughly enjoyed this latest book in the Alaskan Grooms series! I seriously would love to visit Love, Alaska, if it truly existed. The sense of warmth and joy and acceptance greets me every time I read another one of the books in this series. Pick up this book! You most certainly won’t be disappointed!
I received a copy of this book from the author. It in no way influenced my review.

What a wonderful holiday book! Two people that needed each other but were determined to avoid "romantic entanglements" because of their pasts! A past that included each other as children, I might add, but that was long ago and in the ensuing years, a lot of trials and tribulation have happened to each one. They are each wanting to move forward now so that doesn't include romance. Maggie has a sweet little boy and a new life ahead of her when she leaves Boston under a cloud of shame and wants to start a new life in Alaska after her deceased uncle leaves her his business in his will. She sees this as a new beginning. Finn also received something in Maggie's uncle's will and that puts him in close contact with her as they work to open up this business. Finn, however, has no illusions that he is anything but a friend to Maggie. They were once the best of friends at 10 years old but they could never be more than that. He loves her little boy but doesn't want to be mistaken for father material either. Finn is hiding secrets that no one else knows and he wants to keep it that way.
I've been waiting for Finn's book ever since he appeared in another book! I knew he had to have a book of his own! This one didn't disappoint! Such a wonderful story of two people trying to work out their past and seeking forgiveness for things they perceived were their fault. Such a tender, touching holiday book! I highly recommend it!

An Alaskan Christmas by Belle Calhoune is a sweet holiday story that will leave you longing for a hot chocolate in front of a crisp warm fireplace while getting in the mood for the season of love.

The story begins when Finn O'Rourke gives Maggie Richards and her little boy, Oliver a ride on his plane to Love, Alaska. Finn was her childhood friend that she remembers from when she visited her uncle Tobias. Maggie and her son have just arrived in town after she inherited a small gift shop from her uncle.

Maggie wants to start a fresh life for Oliver in Love. Being a new single mom, she wants what's best for her son. Oliver is looking for a new daddy, but that's the farthest thing from her mind. She's looking to get her gift shop ready for the holidays. With Finn on board, it should be possible.

Finn is a pilot. He's interested in helping Maggie because for one their friends and two her uncle Tobias promised him inheritance once he helped her with the shop. His dream is to be partners in O'Rourke Charters with his brother, Declan.

What can happen when two childhood friends reunite after being separated for twenty five years? Maggie and Finn have one goal in mind and that's getting the shop ready for the holidays. They begin to spend a lot of time together and rekindle their old friendship. Both Maggie and Finn have relationship issues. Maggie isn't yet ready for one and Finn holds secrets from his past that he must come to terms with. Their both broken from those that hurt them in their past. They're both afraid to take that step into new territory. They both must take a leap of faith and build trust in each other. Will they become more than friends?

I really enjoyed this book. The setting and the characters was everything that I envisioned for a holiday story. I recommend it. I was given this book for free from this author. I was not required to post a positive review. All opinions are my own.

I reviewed this for RT Bookreviews Magazine : https://www.rtbookreviews.com/book-re...

Calhoune’s latest is a tale of love, faith and trust, set against a beautiful Alaskan backdrop. Fear is a stumbling block for Maggie, which will likely resonate with many readers. While the characters are enjoyable overall, things do become a bit redundant with the frequent denial of feelings and reluctance to start a new relationship. Though part of a series, this could be read as a standalone.

Maggie Richards and her son are headed to Love, Alaska, because she just inherited a gift shop and is anxious to start anew. Despite the town’s name, she has no desire — or time — for romance. She encounters her childhood friend Finn O'Rourke, who must break the news to her that her inheritance is somehow tied to him. How will Maggie react to this new wrinkle in her plans? This is another beautiful, and very touching story in Love, Alaska, which deals with being freed from undeserved guilt that blocks forming relationships with others, being honest & open about the past, and being able to forgive. These lines in the story are especially poignant and true: “Grief was like a rushing river. It hit you when least expected. It could be wild and out of control. Unpredictable.” But my absolute favorite lines are: “None of us are perfect people, but that’s the beauty of being loved by God. His love is perfect, so we don’t need to be.” I won an advanced print copy on FaceBook and have chosen to leave my own honest review of this wonderful story. This is a sweet, clean read, and I would encourage others to read this whole series & get to know the characters from Love, Alaska.

Get ready to be transported back to Love, Alaska. Single mom Maggie Richards and her son Oliver are moving to Love to run her uncle’s shop, while also hoping to get a fresh start in life. Meanwhile, her childhood friend Finn O’Rourke, is running from his own secrets. When these two meet again, can they overcome their pasts and find happiness together?

Belle Calhoune has become one of my favorite authors! I really love this sweet, heart-warming story and highly recommend this book. Check it out! I know I’ll be reading the other books in the Alaskan Grooms series too as the town and people of Love make my heart smile.

I liked the small town atmosphere and how the residents pulled together. (If it wasn't so cold in Alaska, I'd probably love to live in a place like Love). I liked that the two main characters had a history together (even if it was years old)--something to build on.

I wasn't clear on how Operation Love worked though it seems to have been successful. I think Tobias was doing some matchmaking of his own through his will.

I'm glad both main characters eventually told their secrets to each other--and Finn to his family. Truthfully, I can understand Maggie's reluctance to get involved more than I can Finn's. I'm not sure why he felt he wasn't family material. I understand being fooled by someone you love much moreso than Finn's experience I guess.

Looking for a fresh start, single mom Maggie Richards and her son move to Love, Alaska after Maggie inherits her uncle's business. With her focus on readying her shop, she has no time for love, or so she thinks!

Author Belle Calhoun creates an amazing story filled with characters that you can't help but fall in love with. If you enjoy sweet romances while being transported to the beauty of Alaska, then An Alaskan Christmas is definitely a book you will want to read!

An Alaskan Christmas, by Belle Calhoune, book 6 in the Alaskan Grooms series, is a story of forgiving, letting go, overcoming the past, healing, and finding love when you least expect it.
Get lost in Love, Alaska, the small fisherman's town, and this delightful story and its characters. This small community and its people will literally make you wish you could escape from life to live there.
I absolutely love this series! Every time I finish one, I am anxiously awaiting the next to see who will be the next couple to get matched-up in Love. While all the stories are intertwined, they can be read alone, but I promise when you read one, you will want to go back and read the others.

An Alaskan Christmas is a Alaskan Grooms series by Belle Calhoune. Maggie Richards inherits a keepsake store in Love, Alaska from her late uncle. She moves there with her six year old son, Oliver. A lot of work has to be done to the store before she can open it. Finn O'Rourke flies a plane into Love, Alaska. Finn also got money from Maggie's uncle, IF.......he helps Maggie get the store ready to open and works for her for a month. They both have past secrets. Oliver wants Finn to be his new dad. Lots of romance in this room. Funny reading. A good read.

I am loving this series from Belle Calhoune! I enjoyed reading about childhood friends Finn and Maggie reconnecting as adults.
Life has a way of being cruel and overcoming obstacles to take a chance at love can be hard, but worth it.
I also appreciate how characters from the previous books make an appearance. Reading this series makes me want a white Christmas, and I am not a fan of cold or snow!
Be blessed :)

What a great Christmas read that I couldn’t put down. I loved these characters who were protecting their broken hearts and how God works everything for His good. Such a sweet story that brought joy to my heart. Add the endearing boy, Oliver and you have a package you will want to unwrap. It is a perfect addition to your Christmas read pile.

If you love Hallmark movies you will fall in love with this charming book. This book very much reminded me of many of the Christmas Hallmark movies I have been watching lately.

I wondered how Maggie and Finn (love his Irish name) would get around their strongly held beliefs that romance was out of the question. Of course you throw a cute kid in there and your heart is bound to melt.

If you want one last Christmas read before the season if over this one will be a good one to pick up.

I liked the story but

This could have easily been a five star rating but for a few annoying things. I almost gave up on finishing this when the “this was meant to be” theme was every other paragraph. Literally. And Finn was too dense in his feelings about Maggie. The emphasis on their being best friends was a bit weak since there hadn’t been any contact for twenty years. Best friends would have already shared their fears etc…..

Sweet story of widowed Maggie and young son, Oliver, who move to Love, Alaska, to claim the inheritance of a keepsake store and a house from Maggie’s uncle.

As a child, she and Finn were close playmates when she visited Love. His inheritance from her uncle is to help Maggie get Keepsakes up and running.

It’s a nice story, but it should be more concise and not as repetitive on the storms of their respective pasts.

There was a lot of mending that needed to happen and it made for an interesting story. A lot of guilt going around. Maggie, hiding why her husband died; feeling not only ashamed but guilty thinking that she could have done more. And Finn, remorseful for something he didn't do. My only complaint is that Oliver spoke and reasoned like no other six year old I have heard. I did enjoy the story.

Ahh. This started so, so strong but unfortunately I just didn’t believe the romance. Almost felt like this was too short and tried to tackle on too much. But I definitely want to try another book or two by this author before I move on from this series.

I don't remember much of this story except a few good lines.

Grief is like a rushing river. It hits you when you least expect it.
