A fake relationship leads to a real pregnancy! Only from USA TODAY bestselling author Anna DePalo!
To protect her reputation in a dog-eat-dog town, actress Chiara Feran needs a fake fling fast! Turning to the stuntman on her latest movie, Rick Serenghetti, seems like a sure thing. But in Hollywood, things--and stuntmen--are never what they seem. Rick is actually a wealthy movie producer who stunts for kicks. And boy, is he intrigued by this latest role! But he gets more than he bargained for as the line between fantasy and reality blurs. Soon, a very real baby is on the way. Could a marriage proposal be far behind?
Hollywood Baby Affair is part of The Serenghetti Brothers series.
While still in her teens, Anna DePalo began her first novel. She wishes she could say that this early manuscript went on to receive numerous accolades and to bring her fame and fortune. Instead, that first attempt—well, all three pages of it—hit the trash heap, and she understood why many authors have burned their papers for posterity.
She has lived in Italy and England, graduated from Harvard, earned an advanced degree in political science, and practiced intellectual property law.
One day, she decided to give fiction writing another try, believing that having done some more living would help her tell the truth about life in the pages of made-up stories. This time she didn’t stop at three pages—or even ninety-three. That first finished manuscript soon sold to Harlequin, became a bestseller and award-winner, and has been published in over twenty countries to date.
Anna's books have hit the USA Today best-seller list, and have won the RT Book Club Reviewers' Choice Award, the OCCRWA Book Buyer’s Best, the NJRW Golden Leaf, and the NECRWA Readers' Choice. She lives with her husband, son and daughter in New York.
A pretend boyfriend and bodyguard starts this romance on the path to love and family joy. Harlequin Desire and the author take a scene from Hollywood press and make the heroine's manager all-knowing and a bit manipulative. Is that it a false lead if the actors play their parts so well they don't know what's real?
In the end, I wish this couple had done more real talking together instead of making assumptions. But then the touching ending would have gone unwritten.
Hollywood Baby Affair By Anna DePalo Chiara Feran is an action movie star that works very hard not to give the paparazzi anything negative to write about. Unfortunately, her father doesn’t seem to mind doing so. In order to draw attention away from her father’s antics, Chiara’s manager devises a plan to generate positive press… a fake fling with someone on the set. Her manager sets her sights on stuntman Rick Serenghetti. Rick has a secret though, he is not just a stuntman. He is willing to go along with the fake affair, but somewhere along the way, they begin to develop feelings towards each other. Can they both get over their issues to find happiness with each other? Can the fake affair become real? This is the second book in the Serenghetti Brothers series. I couldn’t wait to read it and I was not disappointed. Rick is not your usual stuntman, he only does it for the rush. When he is approached by Chiara’s manager, Odele with a proposition to pretend to date Chiara, he is up for the game, after all, it will only last for a short period of time. Throughout the story, we see how both Chiara and Rick struggle with how they feel for each other. I really loved the part of the story when Rick brings her home to meet the family. It was everything Chiara used to dream of. I enjoyed this story so much that I couldn’t put it down. The relationship between Chiara and Rick develops slowly as each fights the attraction to each other. The Serenghetti family is priceless and Chiara’s manager Odele is ruthless.. Ms DePalo has another winner. I absolutely cannot wait until the next book in this series.
I always wanted to read a glamorous M&B, not only filthy rich tycoon glamorous but the real deal, the Hollywood glamorous one. And this book just fulfilled my wish! Packed with powerful characters and crazy humour, the fiery H/feisty h banter was something! And I couldn't ask for more when I saw that the front cover matched one of the described scenes. Rick and Chiara, they are really really adorable! Even if some people find it very cheesy but I absolutely loved the fairy tale references and also the fairy tale ending! Though it is not true to its title, as the baby comes pretty late in the picture. But their 'combustible passion' makes up for that!
I connected with the characters and the overall storyline the moment I read chapter one of Hollywood Baby Affair. There's a sparkling beauty in Anna DePalo's writing that finds a way into your consciousness. These characters have depth and complexities which make them interesting and realistic. If I had to choose my favorite character it'll be Rick. This little book, with its absorbing narrative has every little ingredient that kept me turning the pages—all in all, an all out winner.
I am looking forward to read this book and I'm not disappointed. This is my first Anna DePalo book I've read. Love the story and the characters (they are an interesting pair). The story and the characters are good. I was a bit not satisfied on some parts but I still like the story. Overall, it's a good read.
