Eat Right, Swim Faster is the ultimate nutrition resource for competitive swimmers of all ages. It is a smartly written book of highly practical and very accessible information for swimmers interested in what food can do for them in their pursuit of maximum performance in the water.
Rather than insisting that readers wade through a tangle of highly technical terminology, Eat Right, Swim Faster provides an abundance of sound, practical advice, in a straightforward, non-academic tone.
Eat Right, Swim Faster draws on the very latest sports nutrition research as well as the very personal experience of the author-a registered dietitian, sports nutritionist, swim coach, athlete, and mother of three competitive swimmers. Readers can therefore be confident they're receiving the smartest, most up-to-date information on the foods and drinks that will serve them-and their swimming performance-best....
Thank you - this is an excellent book and resource for swimmers and athletes to make better food choices throughout a season and to live a healthier lifestyle. You present the information in a easily digestible way and it is easy to begin using the recipes in the book to positively impact meals and energy for a better performance. We have two daughters who are swimmers and will hopefully develop habits from your strategies and recipes to build healthier routines to take with them throughout their lives.
Look forward to digesting more from you and others on how to better support athletes and people in general to lead healthier and stronger lives through nutrition and food choices.
I was beyond disappointed in this book. The author suggest dairy products as If she is getting paid to do so. It is also obvious she does NOT keep up on current nutrition information. She stated plant based proteins are not complete proteins so you have to have different kinds at each meal. This was shown to be incorrect back in the 1990s!
Great book for realistic eating of real food for young athletes to keep their bodies healthy and build a healthy relationship with food as a means to fuel their bodies.
