There's more to this forest than some choose to see. This magical place can set your heart free.
Follow the glow of the fireflies and explore an enchanted miniature world within our own, inhabited by unseen creatures. Who do you think lives there? Fairies or gnomes or pixies?
Author Robyn Frampton created a sensation when she anonymously installed handcrafted magical "gnome homes" and "fairy houses" in a local park. This picture book takes you on an journey through this park with photo illustrations of her creations.
Photographs and 3D enhancements accompany rhyming text that encourages readers to believe in a little bit of magic. It could be that there is a special place nestled inside a city where special magical creatures live, but they will have to look carefully to find those creatures. The lines and the images contain encouraging messages about resilience and may offer reassurance to some readers that they are not alone, encouraging them to reach out to others as well. The last photograph pans out so that readers view the scene from above the treetops from which they can see the cityscape lying right ahead. There will be some youngsters who will adore this book with its hints of a magical world that others don't notice while others will be too pragmatic to buy into that notion. It does seem to request that we pay attention to what's around us so that we can actually see the magic.

The Firefly Forest is waiting to welcome you, soothe you, and send you on your way to spread that cheer to others.
If you know anyone who has created a fairy garden, they are going to want this magical little book. While the rhymes don’t always fall softly on the ear, the photographs are shimmery and sparkly enough to delight anyone.
This book mostly showcases Frampton's fairy creations. The photos are pretty and Frampton is talented. The words share a nice message of kindness and someone loves you. Young people might not know who the "they" are that Frampton continually refers to: "they are hidden", "they whisper", and "we'll lift you". I think she means fireflies or fairies, but it is not specific. Overall, it is a nice book.
