It might have been a useful book some decades ago, but schools and science have moved on. The principles of positive reinforcement and natural/logical consequences that take up a major part of this little book are known to all (and proved themselves not to be such a panacea after all). I came across this book in the local library, and though I try to avoid books that might contain obsolete views on education and psychology, I took it for an easy read in the hammock during school holidays. Parts of it annoyed me, but there was quite a good (albeit oversimplified) overview of sociometry and some aspects of teachers' stress. Overall - not a bad book for a new teacher, but of little worth to an experienced professional.
