Yeah, this is an okay introduction to the issue of drug addiction. It is a somewhat shallow treatment of the issue and provides no real information on treatment. This book might be good for an undergrad survey class on the topic.

I'm reading the 7th edition and for people who haven't "been there, done that" this book is an invaluable resource.
