The story begins with the mother of the H picking him up from the airport. Once they're within the city limits his mother starts driving too close to the curb and drenches the h with puddled rain water. The h is furious because: 1) she is wet and has an upcoming meeting, and 2) because the H and his mother didn't stop to see if she was okay.
Hours later, while in a restaurant on the phone with his mother, the H sees the h on her way home, so he convinces his friend to go after her to give her $200 as an apology and to dry-clean her ruined clothes. The h is so mad and insulted that she marches over to the restaurant and throws the money in the H's face and says she should press charges against his mother -- for her puddle drench.
SPOILER(S) BELOW ...
Later in the story they are brought together through business dealings and after too much to drink, end up married. She wakes up with a wedding band on her right finger. After the H reveals to his mother he has been married for months, his mother asks whether he had the h sign a pre-nup and apparently it wasn't necessary for this (second) marriage, but a must for his first marriage when he was just starting out. The H is rich, and they are an older couple (43 & 47), yet after two IVF treatments resulted in miscarriages they decided NOT to continue the treatments because they were too pricey -- though they can well afford it. Instead, she goes to Switzerland for treatment.
At one point in the story the h's skin is described as follows:
"A movement off the side of the stage caught his eye and Richard found himself turning to see a woman with skin almost as dark as the curtains behind her so she nearly blended into the background." WTF!
The mother of the H is a straight up racist, bat-sh*t crazy woman -- one of the craziest ever written on paper. She is NOT normal, and the H and his sister put up with her behavior for far too long. You will be flabbergasted by what she says and does in this story.
This book ends at 62 percent, and includes a bonus book.

Great
WOW! This story will easily steal your heart. It's a powerful combination of fun and excitement that's so full joy and romance. I really enjoyed these characters they are so amazing and are just pure perfection together. When you add in the drama along with tons of emotions plus some intriguing twists and turns then you have a story that's full of feelings and so beautiful. This is a exciting, sensuous story that will thrill you at every turn of the page “it's so electrifying that it will capture the danger and passion with fast-paced action, heady sexual tension, steamy passion and exhilarating energy emanates from the pages of this very smart and sassy story. Mothers and their sons, umph umph umph!
Danielle really had an unhealthy relationship with not only her son Richard but also her daughter Lauren. She was beyond a tiger mom or helicopter mom. That woman was truly sick and made her children's lives miserable. Richard knew he wanted Jillian the first time he talked to her when she threw his money back in his face and he was determined to have his HEA with her regardless of his mother and would do anything to keep his mother away from his wife.
This was an interesting read. The authoir wrote a story with a whole lot of personal drama with some unexpected plot twists.

A Sweet Interracial Romance
Never Too Late (BWWM Romance Book 1) is sweet interracial romance novella that earned a rating of three stars. The story plot was good but for better clarity and flow. With improved editing the story would be worth it to recommend t others who enjoy reading good romantic novels.

I enjoyed this book
This story had so many twists and turns it had me on the edge of my seat reading it. I don't get what Danielle's problem was when it came to the fact that the things she was doing and the wayshe was acting was disrespectful and inappropriate from an outsider looking in. Can't wait to read the next books in the series,it did a a couple mistakes.

Cut the apron strings
I enjoy reading books about more mature couples and this book was a good one. There was passion,drama, and craziness. I really liked Jill she was a strong woman. Richard was a great business man and passionate. Danielle was a complete psycho. I wouldn't wish a mother like that on anyone. Great job Erica Davis.

Never too late. This book was exciting! I loved that this was a book about older people finding love. Richard had his problems with his mother that cramped his life. Fortunately it didn't stop him and Jillian from finding each other and enjoying life to its fullest. This was a good read! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. OK read...
So who knew trying to get an annulment was so easy! Do people check IDs??? That part was just so ridiculous. No lawyers, no other legal requirements...just go to any courthouse say you want an annulment and you simply sign a form??? Just funny, almost stopped reading the story. Loved how they met and ultimately met got together.
Again this is why I love kindle unlimited, don't feel forced to keep reading bad stories.

I had high hopes for this story. I thought i was going to reading mature, well developed characters with life experiences. However, I felt that the author spent too much time trying to develop the characters in the beginning, then rushed the relationship.
The mother was simply unbelievable...too much even for an overbearing mother.
I hate stories with bonus stories at the end. This one had one..
I gave it 3 stars because I finished it.

Older couple
The story line was sweet but, it lacked dimension. I don't know if it was because of it featuring an older couple but, it could have had a bit more intensity & depth.
It was an OK read but, I wouldn't read another.
