Manifest $10k
I read this book after interviewing Cassie Parks on my podcast, Financial Fluency where I really enjoyed speaking with her about her various income streams such as real estate, coaching and being an Amazon author with 7 books under her belt. I immediately wanted to read one of those 7 books and get a feel for her writing. The writing style is candid and conversational. Cassie uses a lot of examples and stories both from her own life and from the lives of past clients who have struggled with and eventually succeeded to manifest money and goods into their lives.
Because the term manifest and manifestation gets thrown around so much these days I feel like it can refer to a whole lot of things. So I’m going to head on over to Meriam-Webster to get a solid definition.
Manifest:
1: readily perceived by the senses and especially by the sense of sight. Their sadness was manifest in their faces.
2: easily understood or recognized by the mind
Manifestation:
1a : the act, process, or an instance of manifesting demanded some manifestation of repentanceb (1) : something that manifests or is manifest (2) : a perceptible, outward, or visible expression external manifestations of genderc : one of the forms in which an individual is manifested Hate in all its manifestations is wrong.d : an occult phenomenon; specifically : materialization
2: a public demonstration of power and purposemeetings, parades, and other such manifestations — H. M. Parshley
So I guess the use of the word manifest and manifestation in the context of this book would be to take the idea of what you want in your mind and materialize it into being in the real world. Let's go with that.
So, I have heard of the Law of Attraction (aka LOA) before, so I'm not entirely unfamiliar with it, but I have never watched the movie The Secret and have only skirted around the ideas of manifestation myself. There are plenty of scientific psychological studies that show the ways our thoughts really do influence our behaviors and habits and the ways our behaviors, habits and daily focus can influence the outcomes of everything from job interviews to first dates, so why the heck not? This book starts with the premise that you know about the Law of Attraction and have tried to manifest money and goods before but have not been as successful as you would like. If are not familiar with the Law of Attraction and have not tried to manifest money and goods into your life before, you are not really at a disadvantage in this book. You can definitely figure out what she is talking about through context clues.
The meat and potatoes of the book is a series of exercises that Cassie wants you to do on a daily basis across the span of 90 days. There are certain things that you focus on in the first trimester or month, the second trimester or month and then the third. Each exercise only takes about 20 minutes per day and she wants you to put that 20 minutes into your calendar each day so you will do them all without fail. At the end of the 90 days, Cassie is completely confident that you will have drawn to yourself, earned or in some other way created an extra $10,000 above and beyond what you normally earn during that time.
So I broke it down: $10k/90 days = $111.11 dollars per day or $3,333.33 extra per month. An easy way to keep track of this is to look at what came in over the past 90 days or roughly 3 months. If you get a paycheck, this is super easy. For those of us who freelance and sometimes have wild fluctuations in our income, this might take a little more adding up, but I just got that number and am writing it on my calendar today. I'll come back and update you with my results in 90 days! I can say that during the two days I was reading this I did get a free drink from the barista at Starbucks and two people sent me free copies of their books, so that's a start!
