I am a volunteer for our church’s Make Lunch and am about to become an early intervention coach. This book charts the whole story - up to 2020 - from a few people in a Bradford church to the mighty charity that is TLG now. The story of the complete faith and trust in God and his abundant provision is very inspiring. I know a little of this because, when we were unable to hold the holiday lunch clubs, our team started packing and delivering food parcels to the families who would have attended Make Lunch. Word got around and towards the end we had 36 families receiving the Parcels of Hope - every week. We are still doing that now. There were so many times when we wondered if we would be able to carry on but we had donations from really unexpected places, supermarkets donating food and the odd tenner slipped into a hand. I honestly felt I was in the middle of a modern day feeding of the five thousand. Ok, it’s not brilliantly written (too many ! for my taste) but it is written with a heart and a passion - for struggling children and their families, for faith in God and trusting that where He calls you to go, He has already gone before you.
Inspiring story of how God uses ordinary people through obedience to do extra ordinary things. I love the vision and work of TLG and loved reading the story of how it came to be.
