It Started with a Contract

Rate this book
Hadley Green is desperate and needs a job, so when she sees an advertisement in the newspaper, she immediately gets an interview, without bothering to check the fine print of what it means to be at the beck and call of a very wealthy, very sexy man.

All of his life Easton Gray has liked fuller, curvy women. He’s a busy man, and he’s not interested in wining and dining women. So he turns his best friend’s advertisement idea into a reality, never for a second believing it would actually work.

The moment Easton sees Hadley, he knows he wants her, and he’ll do anything to keep her. At first, Hadley is not interested in being a plaything for this man, but then, she is desperate. This is better than being left homeless. She accepts, and finds herself yearning for more than the man’s body. She’s yearning for his heart as well.

Will Hadley be able to go from being owned to being taken? From sex to love? Anything is possible in this short, sweet, and dirty romance.

Sam Crescent

Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

descriptionThe cover of this book was WAY better than the book itself. Not a fan of the purple, but the composition in fabulous. The typography is very eye catching with simple fonts. Nice use of taglines and teasers as well. description

descriptionOK this one was just not that great. First, if you take money in exchange for sex, you are a PROSTITUTE. Don't try and dress it up in some love at first sight shit. The heroine agreed to take money for sex ergo...PROSTITUTE.

description

That aside this book made NO sense. OK, she lost her job a MONTH earlier and couldn't find another. She only had a month worth of savings? No severance pay? At one point she says she is going to "lose her house" but earlier she said her "rent went up and was due and she couldn't pay it" So which is it?? I know you can rent houses, but I doubt anyone would say they were going to "lose their house" if they rented.

YES YES I know I am being uber picky, but I'm thinking getting a job asking "Do you want fries with that?" is probably WAY more preferable for most people than whoring yourself out for some douche who places a deceptive ad in the paper. *lol*

I also found the writing very cheesy and amateurish. The whole OW scene at the charity event made me laugh my ass off...

"Really, you bring trash to a place like this, among people of such high standing? I thought better of you, Easton. She isn’t fit to be here. You’re a disgrace."

"Seriously, dear. You think you can do better than me with that fat bitch.” “Cathy, I never liked you, and I never wanted you. You were easy, and I needed some release. Don’t you ever, I mean this, ever, talk to her again or even be in the same vicinity. If you even try to push this, I will end you."

Who outside of mustache-twirling villains says shit like that?? Sigh, I am going to stop now because I think you get the gist of why this one was a callosal miss for me.description

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

For a story that is so short, I enjoyed it.

It was quick, hot and I have to say totally steamy

Don't want to say much about the book as it will tell the story, but if you in the mood for down on her luck girl with a OTT alpha then get this one

"It Started with a Contract" is the story of Hadley and Easton.
Typical SC trope, this time on the plot of the hero giving an ad in a newspaper for a housekeeper, and the heroine responding-then realizing its for a sexual partner. She accepts, and they embark on a no strings barred relationship. Soon feelings are involved.
Short, sexy but I felt it was too rushed and would have been better if it was a bit longer. I couldn't connect to the characters or the weird plot.
Liked the epilogue though.

Another short (listed at 42 pages) insta-love story from Sam Crescent. This has Hadley in need of a job. She answers and ad seeking a live-in housekeeper for Easton, a rich man too busy to wine and dine and doesn't want escorts. The fine print in the ad Easton's friend posted mentioned "for personal needs and more." Turns out Easton's looking for a live-in for sex. (They didn't think anyone would actually answer the ad.) Well, Hadley needs a job and, after some cajoling on Easton's part, accepts his proposal. Will love win out over how their relationship begins?

As with Crescent's Something Sweet, I immediately liked the heroine of the story, Hadley. Easton starts as a ass (no, me paying you to be at my beck and call for sex doesn't make you a whore), but as their relationship grows, I like him more.

No spoiler to say there's and HEA ending. Insta-love... Happy ending... What's not to love!

Hadley answers a ad looking for a housekeeper but she really didn't read the fine print lol when Easton told her he wanted to sleep with her, he didnt want a housekeeper..the attraction was sizzling when they first met so she stayed.

First night was well a buzz kill.. she stayed inside a hotel room doing nothing, but Easton made it up to her with some dirty romp ;) it's a slight push from Hadley not knowing if she wants this but he changes her mind..

Not to much drama and kinda short for my taste.. I wish it was abit longer..

This was better than book 1 of this series.

It was very fast paced. But it had an interesting plot line. I still feel something is lacking in this author’s writing but this book had good elements.

I loved the male and female lead. I loved the awkward plot line. The intimate scenes were nicely done. And there was a bit more getting to know you going on in this book.

It is super short. While it’s not a very realistic storyline, I don’t feel this book is forgettable. I might just read it again.

Strange Beginnings

Easton and Hadley have a whirlwind romance starting with a contract. Doesn't sound romantic, but it really is. He wants her in his life despite the contract. He wants more. And she gets it all. Love , and security and incredibly hot moments. This is a great read and a great addition to Curvy Women Wanted. While it is not necessary to read book one, I highly recommend it.

Hadley needed a job and was answering as ad. She didn’t read the fine print. Easton and his friend placed that ad as a joke when they were drunk. He didn’t expect an answer but when he saw her, how could he not have her. I can understand why she wouldn’t take the job at first. I would have said the same thing as she did. But Easton was hard to resist. I love these short stories and that they have curvy women. YEAH!

Love Ad

Out of options Hadley answered an employment ad for a housekeeper. What she really got was a lot more then she could of hoped with Easton, her employer. Love comes when Hadley & Easton least expect but it's worth the wait.

Curvy Women Wanted Series - Bk 2- It Started With A Contract - by Sam Crescent

Easton Gray is a very busy man with no time for meeting women and forming a relationship that way but he is still a man with needs. Hadley Green answers an add placed by Easton's assistant and got more than she bargained for. She thought it was for a housekeeper but it turned out to be so much more and the start of something special for the both of them. This was a short insta love, romance on the go read that will melt your heart but get it racing in the best of ways. Loved it, this series is really great just wish the stories were longer. Happy Reading!
Please note that I was given an arc of this book for my honest review which is exactly what I have given.
