Tormented by his emotions and reeling from a shocking discovery, Drew is more determined than ever to uncover all of Hannah’s secrets. She doesn’t know it yet, but he’s been watching and waiting for just the right moment to confront her. This time, he’ll be the one in control, and this time, she will answer his questions.
It’s been two long months since Hannah left Baton Timide to concentrate on purchasing the business of her dreams. Dreams that are haunted every night by memories of Drew’s touch, his kiss, his insatiable hunger and the choice she made to walk away from him. Struggling with what her life requires she do, instead of what she desires, has her questioning all her decisions.
When Drew surprises Hannah one early morning at her shop demanding answers, they both discover that while the truth may set you free, sometimes, even love may not be enough.
To find out if Drew and Hannah’s connection was a short lived flame fueled by lust, or if the passion they share is the beginning of something more, read The Final Bid, the second and final installment of The Auction Series.
Michelle Windsor is the author of over a dozen steamy, contemporary romances filled with alpha males and even stronger females.. She has achieved both Amazon and Barnes & Noble International Best Seller status, and was awarded Best Contemporary Romance Writer by Passionate Plume Ink in 2019. Her first book, The Winning Bid, was nominated for the Summit Indie Book Awards by Metamorph Publishing in 2017, and continues to be her best-selling book to date.
Michelle is married with three grown children, and lives north of Boston in the type of suburban neighborhood you read about in sweet romance books. When she’s not working on another book, you can find her spending time with her husband, hanging out with her three sisters, or snuggled up with her three cats, yes three, watching a movie or reading a book.
This was a nice ending to their story. Yes Hannah drove me nuts at times. I tried to be understanding. I'm not sure how I would handle it either. I'm just happy that they got it together in the end. They both deserved to be happy.
Every once in a while you come across a story that sweeps you of your feet. This is not that kind of story. The story of Drew and Hannah quite literally knocked me on my ass and made me hungry for more. (the best kind of books in my humble opinion) Michelle Windsor delivered in book 1, but she knocked it out of the park with the conclusion of this duet.
I find that it speaks for the incredible talent of Windsor that I not only found myself really able to crawl into the minds of both characters and really be invested into their stories, their love, their pain and their victories. I also found that she has managed to make these characters very real. But I think that the flawless way that she tackles some very real world issues; blended families, the struggle of coping with loss combined with the light she shines on the very real suffering that many of our men and women in arms-and their families face are my favorite parts.
Stunning follow up to The Winning Bid! It will literally take your breath away. A good read is filled with passion, love, loss, lust, heartbreak, and overcoming the impossible. This duet has that and so much more.
Drew stole my heart. He was so gentle and sweet, even though he is a dominant alpha. His love for Hanna could be felt as if it was a living, breathing entity. We all wish for a love like that.
Hanna has been through more than her share of tragedy. Even though I hated how she rejected Drew, I completely understood why she was doing it. Will she ever be able to heal her past so she can have the future she deserves? You'll have to read it to find out!
Michelle Windsor has definitely become an automatic one click for me. Her books are flawlessly written and you can feel the emotions jumping off of the pages. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!
At the end of Book 1, I promptly messaged Michelle, complaining that the Cliffy was too much, and I couldn't wait for the conclusion!! Unfortunately, I had to wait for the end of Drew and Hannah's story, but it was sooooooooo worth it!!! This was such an amazing series, and the end had me shedding a tear, or twelve!!! fantastic!!!
It is rare to find a story that just stays with you… that even days later I am still smiling because the story was just that perfect. I didn’t just love this conclusion, I adored it. I loved everything about The Winning Bid and this was the perfect ending.
Michelle really allows us to see Drew for who he really is. Although, we were allowed a glimpse at his tortured soul in The Winning Bid it was nothing compared to the man we see in The Final Bid. It is clear that Drew is heartbroken and betrayed but he also a kind and strong man who just wants to be accepted for who he try is. He is looking for that one person who break down his walls and see his heart... he wants to be loved and love in return. The way he is with other characters only exemplified who he really is outside of Baton Timide.
The person Drew is inside of Baton Timide, just like Scarlett is an act, armor for protection against the hurts of the world. The persona of Scarlet was her armor, her act, her means to an end for Hannah. What she didn’t realize was that Scarlett would allow her to truly find herself and her future. Hannah’s heartbreak and struggles, although temporarily close her off, allow her to group into a strong and independent woman.
Drew and Hannah’s souls are healed when they find each other, it just take their heart and minds a little longer to catch up.
Michelle Windsor out did herself in The Final Bid. Excellent book! The chemistry and banter between the main characters was portrayed very well. This story brought out all the feelies that you want to have in a good book. The emotions in the book leaped off the page at you and made you feel that you were going through them with the characters. There were several parts in the book that I was in tears – my heart just broke. This is a love story that touches on the sub/dom world that will have you believing in love at first sight.
Michelle brings to the story so many issues that are seamed together flawlessly. You see the heartache was losing someone and how that touches not only you personally but others as well. You find that sometimes what you believe is not always the truth but you have to open your eyes and heart to begin to see what is right and start healing. The personal touches that Michelle Windsor adds takes this story up a notch.
This was the second book by Michelle Windsor that I have had the pleasure to read but will not be my last. She is definitely an author to keep my eye on. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a quick steamy albeit emotional read.
I was the only one among my closest friends who held-out on reading - The Winning Bid.. I knew that I would want to read The Final Bid, the Final Installment to the Auction Series as soon as I was done and I did!
I basically read both books in 24 hours during a full blown migraine episode. I had to jump in The Final Bid to make sure my current Book Boyfriend Drew Sapphire was alright.
Within 10% in The Final Bid, Michelle Windsor had my head spinning from a twist in the story I did not see coming.
My heart broke into pieces for Drew and I wasn't sure if Hannah would redeem herself in my eyes. Every time I thought my heart healed, it was broken again.
I LOVED reading both books. It is NOT your typical Dom/Sub story. Its a love story that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride and makes you want to believe in love at first sight.
First Five Words to come to mind about The Final Bid - Obstacles, Relentless, Fidelity, Passion and Beloved.
After reading The Winning Bid I could not wait for The Final Bid to be released as the first book left me wanting more of Drew and Hannah. Michelle Windsor is such an amazing and talented writer, she has the ability to capture your mind, heart and emotions and takes them on the journey along with the characters in her story. You can't put her books down because you become so invested you have to keep reading. Drew stole my heart with the way he he fought for what he wanted. He went from Dom in book one to loving and vulnerable in this book all in the name of love. I love this book so much and while I am not a HEA kinda gal, Ms. Windsor had me rooting for Drew and Hannah. When an unexpected twist is revealed I found myself wanting, hoping and needing them to find their HEA. The Final Bid- an AMAZING book.
What a beautiful follow-up to The Winning Bid and not at all what I expected! Drew and Hannah’s relationship is messy and complicated at times, but so incredibly real and forgiving. They are damaged and broken yet they refuse to give up on each other. I loved their chemistry, their banter, and the raw emotions they expressed. There were also so many beautiful moments that tugged at my heart –the way Drew interacts with Grace, the respectful way Michelle discusses the dark side of grief and the issues veterans face, and the beautiful interaction with Drew’s parents. SO MUCH TO LOVE about this book!
You MUST read The Winning Bid first!! That's your only warning.
This book picks up almost immediately where TWB ended. Drew has just found Scarlett and learned her name is actually Hannah she has a daughter. And some man who could be a husband? Boyfriend? Drew doesn't know but now that he's found his Scarlett, he will find out.
Hannah has missed Drew but had to get back to her real life. She's just getting back into the swing of life when she runs into Drew.
This book took a lot of twists and turns I wasn't expecting. But I'm so glad I read this series.
This is the follow up to the stunning - The Winning Bid, and it does not disappoint.
I was sobbing through Hannah's story. I was stunned into shock for Drew. I had high hopes in my heart for the future.
Again the characters captured me and the development of the storyline was well thought out and very original. The writing was exceptional and the author a great talent.
I would definitely recommend this book.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
As much as I enjoyed book 1, this book was far better. I fell in love with Hannah and Drew all over again. Their cat and mouse act, the way Hannah's past connected with Drew's brother, their love for one another, it was perfect. There isn't much more I can say, apart from download it and enjoy it.
An amazing book and series.. I love Drew and Hannah's love story. It takes a bit to get it all together. There are twists and turns until Hannah can finally realize what she's missing. A must read.. But make sure you read book one first.. I hope Ben gets his own book, I'd love to read that
Michelle Windsor gives us another rich alpha male to love, Drew Sapphire. He seems to have it all together a bit of a Dr. Jekyll/ Mr. Hyde with his anger issues. Scarlett/Hannah is a dominant submissive. World full of contradictions but it makes for one helluva story.
This book took me on a bender. I wasn't expecting there to be so many real world problems. The pain Hannah was holding on to, even after meeting Drew, was so real. Her secret was so unexpected but it made sense why she didn't want to open her heart. Looking forward to reading the next book!
Wow, where to start. First, Drew and Scarlet (aka Hannah) what an introduction. Second, Hannah, Drew, Danny, and Grace. Hannah's attempt to keep Drew at arms length. Third, Hanna, Grace, Drew, and Jackson. Drop a bomb shell,BOOM!!!! Finally, Hannah, Drew, Danny, Grace, Jackson, and Benjamin. What finally come full circle to tie up all the fraying ends. Perfect!
Loved the 1st book & was a bit upset to find a cliffhanger. Don't always bite & purchase but wanted to see if you give them a HEA. Great read, good plot and the tangled connections explained a lot. So worth the purchase & the read. Highly recommend. (Reviewed by Lin)
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book in exchange for for an honest review.
This is book 2 in the series. It does pick up where book 1 left off. You will need to read book 1 to start with.
Grace has gone back to working at her flower shop and to her life. Little does she know that Drew has been stalking her -- following her everywhere and knows what she's been doing.
Drew can't believe that Grace has a daughter. Why didn't she tell him? Is the man he sees her with her husband? What else does he not know about the woman he is in love with?
Grace finds out that Drew's brother and her brother and her husband all served together in Iraq. Will Grace be able to come to terms with Drew's brother and what happened with her husband?
Will Drew & Grace be able to be a family? Will Drew accept her? Will Drew's family accept her? Will Grace want to be with Drew? Will Grace's family accept Drew? Will they be able to have a life together? Or will life drive them apart and divide them forever??
I anxiously waited for this book and I was not disappointed. I loved this book even more that the first book! I loved the well written, emotional, love filled storyline. The characters from the first book are back, of course, and we get to know Grace, Hannah's adorable daughter, as does Drew. We get to meet the rest of his family as well. Drew and Hannah are as hot as ever as they begin to build a possible relationship, but the struggles are real when Hannah finds out who Drew's brother is. It's heartbreaking not only for her and Drew, but for you, the reader as well. This storyline also reminds us that you should never judge a book by it's cover, as Hannah finds out with the help of her brother Danny. Secrets are shared, misunderstandings happen and hurtful words are spoken. But will love prevail?
I adored this book and I am so glad that I waited for it to come out. It was so very worth the wait. I HIGHLY recommend this book, this series. You will not be disappointed.
Michelle Windsor second book is as good as the first. It was so much fun to read! I loved seeing how Drew's character changes from a guarded man into an open loving one. Hannah's character had just as many walls to break down. Drew fights hard for what he knows he wants now and won't give up on having it with Hannah. Hannah finds out some truths about what really happened with her husband and finally can move on with her life. The way Michelle wrote about the issues surrounding our veterans and their families was just perfect. She gives enough information for us to understand what Hannah went through after the death of her husband in war, and how Danny and Ben dealt with that death and their returning from service. You won't be disappointed with this book but you have to read The Winning Bid first.
I told myself to wait & cool off because I think I would have rated this book lower in the heat of the moment. Maybe I’m grief shaming idk if that’s even a thing, but Hannah ended up feeling childish to me. The way she ended up jumping to conclusions about everyone without ever hearing anything they had to say just pissed me off. Without giving anything away, this book could have been cut in 1/2 if she’d just listened to the people who love her. Also the way she spent years blaming others for the choices her husband made. Maybe that was the grief talking & this just wasn’t my book, but I think that pissed me off more than anything. Because even if others may have encouraged her late husband to go back, HE still made the choice to go. No one re-uped for him, only him. So yeah. Idk if it’s a me problem or the book problem 😂🤷🏼♀️

I liked the way Drew refused to give up on Hannah. He knew she felt the connection just as much as he did because she hadn't been able to hide it. He did act 'over the top' but I felt for him anyway.
The way Michelle Windsor explored PTSD, depression, etc concerning our wounded warriors was wonderful. She didn't go into great detail because it wouldn't have fit with the story. What she did bring out was touching and respectful.
Once again, Hannah jumped to the wrong conclusions. I could empathize with her in the climactic scene. Many people cope with traumatic experiences by blaming others. Especially in a situation like the one she was dealing with.
I strongly urge you to read Winning Bid and Final Bid. They are both excellent.
It goes more into the territory of relationship and love and more away from the whole BDSM scene. So it's a somewhat different story to the first book, even if it's a continuation.
It's not 5 stars, because sometimes Hannah is a total bitch and I almost develop animosity towards her and half-wish that Drew just dumps her. I don't think the book is supposed to make me feel that way, but still... Drew is the perfect guy. He is flawless. And still he has to go through so much crap... If you remove the mysterious love factor out of the equation, then it's really hard to see why Hannah is worth fighting so hard for.
This book picks up where The Winning Bid ended and gives you a little bit more of Hannah's back story.
I love the way Drew never gives up in his pursuit to know the real Hannah instead of who she pretended to be. And that their chemistry is still just as great as it was in the beginning.
Hannah learns so shocking revelations as well but will she be to late to reconcile with the mistakes she's made or will she find love and finally open up and give it her all?
This is such a great series that I plan on rereading and recommending to any book lover out there. It's very well written and has the right amount of drama, angst, sorrow, love and just all the feels.
