Cuvie has a diverse range of manga that appeals, mostly , to the male audience. Moving away from her single chapter works, she approaches her first multi-volume piece that will set the ground for "Nightmare Maker" and many others.
The first volume was great in getting us connected to the characters and constructing a setting that lets us know of the turmoil of the Dark Ages. Already, the relationship between Dorothea and the male lead is one that is fairly well along, and with development that usually takes other romance manga tens of chapters to gain. Romance, though , is but a subplot as the real problem lies with the world that the "rare" Dorothea lives in.
Nice progression throughout with a conclusive ending that leaves wanting more, but not to the extent of labeling it a cliffhanger.
