A new collection of ghost stories from every corner of New Brunswick. Pull up a seat and listen closely-storyteller Steve Vernon has another collection of classic, bone-chilling tales to tell. Steve takes readers from one end of New Brunswick to the other, unearthing dark tales of strange happenings along the way-from the headless ghost that haunts those who pass through Johnville's covered bridge, to the spirit of a murdered man that guards long-buried treasure at Wolf Point. Drawing on both documented stories and legends passed on by word-of-mouth, Steve sets one spooky scene after another with a storyteller's attention to every creepy detail, and just a touch of wry humour. It's as though you're sitting beside him at the campfire, getting goosebumps as each story unfolds.
Hi! I'm Steve Vernon and I'd love to scare you. Along the way I'll entertain you. I guarantee a giggle as well.
If I listed all of the books I've written I'd bore you - and I am allergic to boring.
Instead, let me recommend one single book of mine.
Pick up SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME for an example of true Steve Vernon storytelling. It's hockey and vampires for folks who love hockey and vampires - and for folks who don't!
My review might be a little biased since I'm from New Brunswick myself. This collection of short ghost stories was refreshing, the perfect bedtime snack. The author twisted humor into each one and while not being "scary" I learned a lot about New Brunswick's history.
Ok, I really liked this collection of ghost stories. It may be because I’m from NB, and learned quite a lot of interesting info while reading it , also because Steve Vernon is a great storyteller and I could picture myself around a campfire listening to these stories.
