My kids love these. It’s pure mindless torture for me. We compromise. They win.

I like the concept of the PJ Masks, but I have yet to be impressed by the actual product. My kids love it though, so there's that. They are 3 and 5.
Points in its favour:
- gender balance accomplished by having a female villain (I like this a lot)
- Amaya/Owlette wears a colour that you can actually find in the boy's section of the clothing store (not pink or lavender but a nice bright red; I have nothing against pink or purple but I do get tired of every female character in a kids' series having to be saturated in one of those two colours)
- the graphics are very appealing; love the bright red/blue/green colour scheme
So, why don't I love it?
- I get tired of my husband trying to rename Amaya into Olivia because he's annoyed that the boys' character names alliterate but hers doesn't
- the stories feel quite preachy; like 'Daniel Tiger in a superhero costume' level of preachy; except that Daniel Tiger is very clearly a 'teach your kids how to cope with life' series whereas I expect entertainment from a superhero series
- the superhero abilities are kind of lame; they're not weak enough that it could plausibly be just some kids playing dress-up - but they're not a lot better than that; I expect this is due to the target age range (which I clearly am not) - but I enjoy a lot of the books that I read to my kids and these ones are just kind of meh

Synopsis: "Gekko must learn how to ride Luna Girl’s Luna Board so he can save Christmas in this 8x8 storybook based on PJ Masks, the hit preschool series airing on Disney Junior! This book comes with punch-out Christmas ornaments!

My Review: Munchkin is of course obsessed with PJ Masks and I love the fact that they have a holiday book (and Episode). This does follow an episode on TV exactly so Munchkin already knew what was coming. It does have a nice story to it and I like how even though Luna girl is a night time villain they still are nice to her. I will say though that there is a lot of text on each page and Munchkin, like most kids at this time of year, has a very short attention span and lost focus while I was reading.

A nice Christmas story about trying new things and making new friends, based on an episode of the PJ Masks show.
This is a nice book. I liked that the villain turned out to just be misunderstood and PJ Masks took actions to rectify the situation. Very cute.
I also liked the fact that this was a Christmas story that didn't have to do with whether or not Santa is real.
Good book, especially for fans of the show.

The PJ Masks must find out where all the decorations and presents for Christmas have gone. Someone has taken them and it is up to the PJ Masks to get them back. Gekko is nervous about helping because he has never use a hover board before (I think its a hover board) so his friends encourage him that he needs to keep trying and not give up. I think that's the best moral of the story and it is encouraging to young readers to not give up.

The plots of PJ Masks books are so clearly just bad summaries of TV shows. There’s just something a bit off about the storylines when they translate them to books. That said, the girls like PJ Masks, so they liked this book.

Forced to review bg the App
Although the book is nice but the app won't let me exit it without reviewing and hence the 1 star.

It’s a good book and Kait was once really into PJ Masks. I always find them a bit overly complicated/wordy though.

My grandkids loved the story when I read it to them.

Cute. ^_^ (I read it while I was waiting at the grocery store; don't judge. Still more interesting than shopping. XD)
