This book was okay. The pictures are taken directly from the movie so some of them are kind of fuzzy. This is a Level 2 book, but seemed pretty text-heavy. It is surprisingly long and even as an adult I got bored reading it. Not very engaging. It pretty much just goes through the beginning of The Ninjago Movie and sets up the story. It was written from Lloyd's perspective, but I found the narration pretty dull. Not a fan.
Okay - you have to have seen the movie, I think, to really get what's going on. (Also, this movie/book is explicitly written to sell toys, which - duh, LEGO - but at least in the LEGO Movie and the LEGO Batman movie, there was a plot that had more to do with the big mecha machines for sale.) Things move pretty fast, and I had to flip back to the introductions to remember which character was which.
