Proverbs for a Woman’s Day is the second book I’ve read by Elizabeth George, and I’ll be reading more in the future. I really enjoyed Proverbs for a Woman’s Day. The book begins with Dear Seeker of God’s Wisdom, where the author asks thought-provoking questions. The great news is she says, “God has all the answers you are seeking in the book of Proverbs.”

I agree that Proverbs for a Woman’s Day is a practical and devotional journey through the book of Proverbs. From Day 1 through to 31, I was taken on a journey through this incredible book of the Bible. I’ve read through Proverbs many times with several verses underlined, with notes in the margin. Elizabeth George opened my eyes to see and my heart to understand Proverbs to a greater depth. She openly shares her own experiences in her walk with the Lord. She desires that women know who they are in Christ, and be all that God destined them to be. I found reading her words were like hearing them from a wise and trusted friend.

The Contents page provides a key to what each chapter of Proverbs will focus on. For example; Proverbs 5: Being a Faithful Wife – Marriage; Proverbs 7: Living a Life of Purity – Morals; Chapter 15: Enjoying the Benefits of Wisdom – Choices.

Elizabeth George was advised years ago to read a chapter in Proverbs daily. That this daily practice would give direction for her practical life, and she found this to be true. She encourages her readers to do the same. I fully understand why; and is something I will put into practice myself.

Proverbs for a Woman’s Day will be kept in my Faith Library. I view this book as a valuable resource to have on hand. What Elizabeth George shares in her book enables me to become the godly woman God destined me to be.

This book would be a wonderful gift for women of all ages. I’m so grateful that the Lord put this book in my path, in a season of my life where I’m considered a mature Christian. God knows me best; and He obviously had a purpose for my reading this book. Not every book I read excites me as Proverbs for a Women’s Day, but I pray it excites you too, should you choose to read it!

Lots of information and study about the book of Proverbs. I liked the prayers at the beginning of the chapters and the extra research she did into some of the verses and categorizing their themes.

More author's application and anecdote than deep interpretation, but it was a fun way to think about Proverbs during the week while our church begins a series on the Book of Proverbs.

Great to read in conjunction with a month through Proverbs. You'll want to return to it again in future--it will be a great reminder.
