A PERFECT LADY ...

From the moment Merrie Laurence arrived in a whirlwind of holiday cheer, Moorsedge Castle would never be the same. Song and laughter filled the castle's once silent halls and everyone's heart grew joyous. Then the handsome Earl of Warwick --- the most sought-after bachelor in the land --- vowed to change this spirited minx's ways and fashion her into a marriageable lady of high society.

No sooner had Merrie had been turned loose on the ton, than the transformed beauty became the toast of London. Yet, only one man possessed her heart, the very man who swore to marry her off to the first eligible suitor who asked! But that was before a scandalous society intrigue convinced the earl that Merrie deserved to wed only the very best of men.

Season of Loving by Helen Archery contains two well developed and likable characters: Merrie and Brett, our two main characters. I have been told that this book is one of the most well-written romance novels out there, and I can see why. The quick and witty repartee between Merrie and Brett is really funny and delightful; the goodness of Merrie is respectable and emulate-able; and the development of the characters is fun to follow. Plus, the picture of Ms. Helen Archery in the back cover is quite saucy!

I've knocked one star off because the middle of the book is a bit long and could've been a bit shorter. But overall, I really enjoyed the book.

Season of Loving seems to be a hard book to get your hands on, though, so if you do find it count yourself lucky!
