Ideal for children ages 7 and up, this colorful reference volume for kids is a clear and comprehensive introduction to the weather that shapes our planet. Fully illustrated with color photography and useful diagrams, this guide will be as illuminating for parents as it is for kids! With eight chapters covering all aspects of weather including climate, seasons, climate change, infamous weather events, and renewable energy, this makes a great first reference book for kids.
This book is designed like a textbook, with general topics such as “seasons” and “weather disasters,” and two-page spreads of more specific topics within the broad categories. Coming from someone who personally is not very interested in earth science, I think this book is a masterpiece and makes weather the most exciting thing in the world! The book has a LOT of photos, “Top Facts,” and “It’s Amazing!” boxes containing obscure facts on every two-page spread. The book relates weather to our impressions of weather versus what is actually scientifically happening, and makes the knowledge relevant in an entertaining way. Reading it almost feels like reading a creative, “National Geographic World” type of magazine.
