I have not actually watched Storybots before, so I can't say how closely it relates to the show. I picked this up from the library because I work with a kid who likes Storybots and dinosaurs. Figured it was a good fit.
Overall, I liked the book. The rhyming made it a fun read and the illustrations were very entertaining. I also liked that there were various facts about the T-rex in the book, making it educational as well as interesting.
This is a Step 1 book, recommended for those in preschool and kindergarten. It uses simple words, picture clues, and rhyme and rhythm to help beginning readers.
It was okay. I think I like the idea of the StoryBots, but in practice, the book was kind of weird. Why is the T-Rex wearing sunglasses? (I know that approximately zero children will be bothered by this, but still.) And why the gold tooth? I did like that the text was mostly factual, but a little too vague for me to actually agree that it's a "science" reader.
