There is a story here, though it's a simple one. Elizabeth has just had her awful proposal from Mr. Collins. Her mother has pressured her to accept, and she doesn't trust her father to back her up if she refuses. She can't bring herself to actually say "yes" but also feels that she has no choice. She opts to tell Collins she'll get back to him with an answer and then dashes from Longbourn for a good cry and a last taste of freedom.
She encounters Darcy, who comforts her. This leads to an encounter of the sexual kind at a hunting lodge on Netherfield's property.
The writing is of high quality with character development and a story convincingly similar to Pride and Prejudice, far superior to many "intimate" tales that pop up by other authors pretending to be variations on the classic. Every now and then, I enjoy an uncomplicated plot with the emphasis on the steamy bits, and this short story is definitely that!

AN OFFER OF IMPROPRIETY is a mature sexy retelling of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. This book uses the what if scenario to bring their story to life. The example that is used is; what if Elizabeth father is ill and even though she finds it appalling she must consider Mr. Collin’s proposal of marriage. She goes for a walk and runs into Mr. Darcy. He finds her upset and tries to comfort her and is also shocked to hear that Elizabeth is going to accept Mr. Collin’s proposal. Needless to say things start to heat up between Darcy and Elizabeth after that. So if you enjoy hot steamy sexy romances this book is for you but warning this book is for mature audiences only. 👍

November 4, 2023Got this as part of a short story collection. Elizabeth is being pressured to marry Collins but she meets Darcy and has sex with him instead. (I mean, how many of you wouldn't rather have sex with Darcy instead of marrying Collins? Thought so.)
