It's never too soon to teach children the value of kindness, from " Ask someone to play with you." to " Zip a younger child's jacket." Other " Help clean up after dinner." " Read a story to a younger child." " Think before you speak. Choose kind words." Simple words and beautifully engaging illustrations invite children to show kindness in their daily lives. Each letter, each idea is a step toward becoming more caring and compassionate...and making the world a better place.
I shared this book with the younger students at my school during Hello Week. It is also perfect for Kindness Week or just reviewing niceties at school. My students didn't understand that it was an alphabet book as well but that is fine. They understood the main idea and it led to some nice discussions. I am glad we have this book in our school's library collection.
I read this to my granddaughters. A great way to teach the alphabet by using them to also teach about helping others. Although the illustrations were horrid. Definitely NOT a keeper.
This story gives students 26 different ideas on ways to show kindness towards others. This story is great when paired with bucket filling activities and read alouds.
Very cute read. It was a great book to teach all kids what they can do to show kindness towards others. I may even request that my 14 year old read to remind her how she can show kindness more often. hahaha...no seriously! :)
