Wrath of the Tooth Fairy

Rate this book
Mira has never understood why princesses have all the fun. Fairy godmothers deserve a taste of Prince Charming, too! Too bad that affair costs Mira her job and reputation. Cast out of the fairy realm and reduced to working as a lowly tooth fairy, she’s spent ninety-nine years waiting for her chance at redemption. So why did the bogeyman have to start haunting her life now?

Frustrated by the frequent terror of his visits, Mira takes drastic measures to save herself, including a date with a prince of darkness—yeah, she has a thing for princes. But her obsession with all things prince isn’t a coincidence, and when corruption in the fairy community is exposed, Mira comes face to face with the real reason she was demoted. Now, she wonders if she even wants to be a fairy godmother again and if the bogeyman might have been right all along.

From the award-winning author of Womby’s School for Wayward Witches comes a delightful new series. A fractured fairy tale for those who like to see the fairy godmother have a happy ending—even if it isn’t with Prince Charming!

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Wrath of the tooth fairy is a fantasy - romance book for adults.
Mira is demoted from her job title of a fairy godmother to one of the tooth fairy after being caught having intimate leasions with Prince Charming by his wife.
Mira gets positioned as tooth fairy to the poorest areas of America and if that isn't bad enough she gets haunted by the 'bogeyman' and then reported for sexual harassment by her superior!
I found myself having mixed feelings about this book. Although I found the concept to be different and unique I found it confusing to keep up with who was who as I read it and found I just couldn't warm to the characters in the story.
The ending had quite a good twist which I did rather enjoy!

Really enjoyed this book and found it such a cool idea to read a plot based on tooth fairies. I really liked how the author included other fantasy and paranormal creatures within this.
I loved the tension and really rooted for Mira, feeling so sorry for her! I felt sorry for her that she fell in love, but was treated like an outcast because of this.
I will admit, while the ending was a twist, I did get a tad confused about who was who. But I think that could be because I was glued to the book and stayed up until like 2am to finish it!

First time reading something from this author, and interested in checking out more of her work!

Mira could never understand why princesses should have all the fun—why can’t fairy godmothers enjoy a Prince Charming? Unfortunately, that affair costs Mira both her job and reputation. Cast out of the fairy realm, she’s reduced to working as a tooth fairy, waiting 99 years for her chance at redemptions. She’s so close to reaching her goal when all of a sudden, a bogeyman starts haunting her. Desperate for a good night’s sleep, Mira takes drastic measures, even dating the Prince of Darkness, Aden.

This entire book was such a breezy read. It was funny and, at the same time, engaging, keeping me interesting in solving the mystery. Admittedly, the plot points were fairly obvious; there weren’t any shocking twists. There was also some repetitiveness going on, which slowed down the pace at times.

Still, the story did keep my interest. I think mostly due to the unique voice the author used for Mira. I found her to be a very likable character. She’s kind toward the poor children she encounters in her work, often going the extra mile to help them. Also, she just keeps doing her best to move on and to get her place back, proof that she is worthy, but at the same time, she’s holding herself back.

I think that’s a universal phenomenon. Especially when we focus on fear, which is exactly the focus of this book. We all feel we need to suppress these fears and not pay attention to them. But what if we did? Can our fear help us overcome our problems? Would accepting our fear help us defeat it?

Interesting stuff.

I also enjoyed the side characters, from the ‘Prince of Darkness’ Aden, who is actually a decent and kind man, to bogeyman Jack, who keeps showing up in her dreams and at her work. Sometimes the bogeyman seems nice and caring. Other times he uses his magic to terrify her as a form of therapy. The other tooth fairies were also a good addition to the story, all with their own personal traumas they had to overcome.

All-in-all it was a very imaginative and fun story. If you’re looking for a break from the more serious high fantasy books, I think Wrath of the Toothfairy is a great read, even if the writing could’ve been a bit better and less repetitive.

My rating: 3.25

I don't know what I was expecting when I requested this ARC but I certainly wasn't expecting what I found in it. Books with “Tooth Fairy” in the title are usually meant for children but NetGalley made it very clear that this was a romance-fantasy. I guess I was intrigued to read for myself what the author had attempted. The end result is what I should have anticipated – mixed feelings.

Mira is demoted from her job of being the fairy godmother to Prince Charming after she is found in a compromising position with him. Her new profile has her as the designated tooth fairy for the poorer regions of America for a penalty period of a hundred years. Now, in the very last year of her punishment, she finds herself suddenly haunted by the bogeyman, and facing sexual harassment through her reporting head. If she wishes to be reinstated as a fairy godmother, she needs to start taking action.

The blurb promised a more fun story but I found the book quite dramatic. It was quite heavy on romance, no doubt. But the fantasy part of it is very weak, only restricted to the various fantastical creatures who are the main and secondary characters in the book. I wanted more of a legitimate fantasy and a fairy godmother standing up for herself, but this turned out to be a romantic drama with fairies & other creatures instead of humans. The plot had an interesting but weird amalgamation of urban human life and fairy fiction, what with the fairies using Google to find information.

If I had felt at least some attraction to the characters, I might have enjoyed the book more. But I simply couldn’t connect with Mira or the other fairies (Harmony was the only one I liked for the way her character was etched out). I didn’t get the romantic association between Aden and Mira. I also feel that the title of the book is quite unsuitable to the story. The wrath part doesn’t reveal itself till about 90%, so there flies your main emotion out the window. The Tooth Fairy part too gives the incorrect idea, as I mentioned earlier, that the book will suit a younger audience. Also, the cover contains one really big spoiler about one of the characters of the story. I didn't understand why that plot point was kept under "cover" for such a big part of the story when the cover depicts that character clearly.

I was completely disappointed by the first half of the book, not just because the story was completely other than what I had anticipated, but also because it meandered too much without making sure that the plot was supported by the twists and turns. The pacing was quite slow, the chemistry between the characters was almost zero. Another big disappointment was that the big reveal about Aden (Mira’s love interest) and the bogeyman is quite guessable. Only after the 70% mark did I regain some interest in the direction finally taken by the narrative and the ending was more or less a good conclusion to the story. But it was a case of too little too late.

The ending almost tempted me to give a high rating to the book but that would be an unfair representation of the overall book. So a 2.5 stars for the first half and a 4 for the second half makes it a 3.25.

Thank you, NetGalley and REUTS Publications, for the Advanced Review Copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley and publisher for the E ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I really did try very hard with this book but no, it did not deliver. If it had shown something that blurb and the gorgeous cover promised, I would have been more charitable.
The premise is highly intriguing as it takes the Fairyland operations as departments and our MC, Mira, is a fairy Godmother fallen from grace to a tooth fairy for dallying with one of her charges and I have never met a blander personality than her. From what I can see, the author doesn't really convince me that her fall from grace wasn't really her fault but only reinforces the idea that she is, in fact, sex-addicted.
Maybe, if I had gone in without the expectation for any semblance of a plot, then I wouldn't have had such an experience because truly, I couldn't find it.
There was so much potential but the couldn't care less writing style, subpar characters, and the non-existence of a plot ruined it.

This is a different type of story. Mira is a disgraced fairy godmother who has almost finished her punishment of 100 years as a tooth fairy, after falling for Prince Charming and being discovered in a closet with him.

There are demons, fairies of all types, angels, vampires, elves, Santa, the bogeyman, etc. The writing is fine, written in first person from Mira's POV. This is a long book and I would have liked it better if the plot had been tightened, because I kept putting it down and reading other books as it sometimes zoned me out. It's very easy to read and understand though and quite entertaining in parts, but probably not quite my cup of tea. There are a lot of characters our heroine interacts with at 'work' and I do think the author has a wonderful imagination. My thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-arc in return for my opinion.

A fun fairy tale with a new perspective. This story about a Fairy Godmother, Mira, and her fall from grace to a new role as a Tooth Fairy. In spite of her mistakes, Mira is thoughtful, caring and will do what is right even if she has to stretch the rules. When Mira encounters corruption in the tooth fairy realm and a bogeyman starts haunting her, she takes matters into her own hands. The mystery is interesting, the characters intriguing and the fun doesn't stop.

Never knew much about fairies. They are very interesting characters, the jobs that they do range from fairy godmother to the poor toilet fairy. Mira
was a godmother to Prince Charming and they started an affair and they got caught. Mira was now molester and band for the fairy realm. She lost everything. She is now a tooth fairy which her client's are so of the poorest neighborhood. She does things that she isn't suppose to do. She is helping these poor kids with a bit of magic to make things a little better. She also help the kids that are being abused with either the police or social services that will help the.children. One night the bogeyman comes into the same room she is in. Bogeyman is someone that senses your fear and emotions that they can use it against. He starts invading her dreams, he wants to know her biggest fear. Mira starts getting scared to go to bed at night. She finds a man but he looking lots like Prince Charming but she is desperate. She get drunk and Aden gets her home they starts making out and she passes out. Aden is a under world vampire that draw emotions. Can Aden save Mira from the bogeyman and more importantly from herself??

I sadly had to DNF this one. I was excited to receive this ARC from Netgalley and did enjoy the first few chapters. But, after like the 5th chapter the story went south. I wasnt gelling with any of the characters. The plot started off captivating but then fizzled and it took forever to get to the point. I wanted to love this book, but I don't and the more I tried to force myself to finish the more frustrated I became. I hate DNFing a book, but I am just not enjoying it.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley.

The Wrath of the Tooth Fairy is a fun concept -- the bureaucratization of a fairy world that we only know about it in fairy tales and myths. Our "favorite" characters aren't that nice. Fairy godmothers can be fired. And stigma exists even here where magic can make all kinds of things possible.

For the most part, I really enjoyed this book as an entertaining, fun read. Mira is stuck in her own trauma and fears, even after 100 years -- so much that she doesn't have friends (or thinks she doesn't), doesn't date, and obsesses over past mistakes and a future return to "glory." That she's a hot mess is relatable. That she found (questionable) love and friendship in the midst of that is satisfying. And the ending is what you'd expect from a fairy tale story.

That being said, there is definite room for improvement. The repetition of Mira's stress, fear, and angst about what she's lost and wondering if she'll ever get back to the Fairy Realm weighed down the story in the middle. Different subplots felt rushed -- out of nowhere, we learn about a cupid's arrow and go through five minutes of Cupid bureaucracy but it's never really explored beyond removing it and using it for "evidence" later. Her boss's harassment is dealt with but it's unsatisfying at the end as it all happens behind the scenes. She finds a group of friends at work after (presumably) ignoring them for 100 years -- is she so great they all liked her even when she avoided them??

The boyfriend and bogeyman storyline is interesting, but it seems to gloss over the lying and stalking part of things. I'm here for a happy ending, but Mira should have been a lot angrier than she was, regardless of how things ultimately end up. That being said, I thought the plotline about dealing with her greatest fear was interesting, although that felt like one more detail jammed into a giant book.

I appreciated what Mira wanted to do for her tooth fairy "clients" -- I wish we could have seen what happened after her work was discovered by higher-ups. Maybe an epilogue?

Overall, I would read more from this world as I think there's a lot to be explored. Like...how did Jack Charming end up as a bogeyman? Why is Snow White so awful? What's it really like down in the Low World? What kind of drama and hijinks do the Cupids get up to? There's so much to explore from this world, and I think if the plots and pacing were tightened up a bit, it would be a great series to dive into.

This is a great easy read. In a market full of high fantasy fae romance this was a nice change of pace. There were many interesting concepts that I only wish had been elaborated on a little further. I think my biggest issue was the repetitiveness, especially in the first half. It felt like Mira, our main character, could not stop telling us about an incident that we had already saw. We know what happened to her and we knew why she was a tooth fairy but she never missed a chance to tell us. Over all this book could have made more use out of showing and not telling. I was very seldom left to make my own conclusions. Our main character essentially told us how to feel and repeated facts ten times over like we weren’t expected to remember anything. It did make the pace a little slow at times. It was a pretty glaring problem BUT I still enjoyed the journey. I liked how Mira was so empathetic to the kids she saw and it was interesting to see how class bias effected the supernatural realm as well. It could have been handled with more tact, as there seemed to be quite a few moments of stereotyping.

I also enjoyed many of the side characters and our love interest in the sexy boogey man, I thought they were funny and if you don’t go into this book expecting it to be as serious as some of the other very big fantasy romance series out there I think you will enjoy it as much as I did. It feels like the equivalent of a cozy mystery in the world of thrillers. You go in to enjoy a slice of fantasy, a dash of spice and an interesting cast. I will probably read any further books in this series to see if perhaps this suffered from world building first book syndrome and just to have a nice break between serious, heavy books on my tbr list. A solid 3 out of 5 stars.

Never has a story made me question what I thought about fairytales and personnel. Ms. Dorie has woven a story that will make you sit up and think!!!! Wonderful job. Everyone must read. I will recommend to everyone.

Toothfairy. What is their job exactly?
Bogeypeople – aka bogeyman or bogeywoman--, are they good or bad? What do you remember being taught about them? Are those ideas right or wrong?
Heroes, princes and princess, quests, Disney’s fairytales versus Grimms’ fairytales, darkness and light, are just some of things involved in this story.

Really read this book. You will see why I do not want to say too much and find the words hard to say. Thought provoking for me.

This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

This book was so entertaining. I loved the characters as well as the plot. There were so many reasons to root for the good as well as the bad. The job of the tooth fairy, the bogeyman and the Charming family was not the typical telling of fairytales. I so loved Mira. She had normal everyday fears that she needed to break free from. She wanted to prove that a girl does not need a Prince Charming to rescue her. I found myself cheering and being indignant at certain actions of the characters within the story. Definitely a must read if you want a different take on fairy tales.

Mira Gets Her Groove Back

This is a nice little book about a tooth fairy who used to be a fairy godmother and her struggles to return to the ranks of the fairy godmothers. It also happens to be a pretty interesting mystery with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing all the way to the end. Mira-Belle, the former fairy godmother, is still trying to recover from her demotion and the events leading up to it 99 years later. While in serious need of an injection of self-esteem, Mira-Belle still has a pretty good sense of humor. There's a little adult level "personal interaction" so this isn't a kids story, well, underage kids story but it's pretty mild so don't let that throw you. The mystery is quite good and Mira is not a bad sleuth. I am looking forward to her next adventure.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed this book so much and loved that we had a deeper understanding of Bogeymen, Tooth Fairies, The Charmings and more. This was such a fun read and I didn't want to put it down when I started. The romance aspect was lovely to see and the investigation into their boss was fun to watch unravel.

This is the first book I have read from Sarina but definitely want to check out more now.

After Mira lost her position as fairy godmother to Prince Charming, all because they got caught in a compromising position in his closet, she was demoted to tooth fairy. So, for the past 99 years she has paid her dues as tooth fairy, and studied diligently hoping to regain her position. Then, the worst thing possible happens... the bogeyman starts showing up at all of her stops AND haunting her dreams. Then to top it off, she discovers that losing her fairy godmother position was no accident... she was set up. Mira is on the war path now. She wants her happy ending!
I love this new series. These fractured fairy tales are so much fun. I think I laughed the whole way through the book. I can't wait to see what the next one brings!

This sounded like it would be a fun read, for me it ended being a too long book that could have lost about a 100 pages and it wouldn’t have impacted the story in my opinion.

Mira loses her job as a fairy godmother after messing around with one of her charges a “Charming” no less. He continues to live his life in luxury while Mira is just a step above a toilet fairy. A lot of this book made me cringe at times, Mira seemed to be on the same level as a pedophile in the eyes of her fae brethren. She lost not only her job as a fairy godmother but friends if you could call them that as well.

Her boss at her new job as a tooth fairy is a colossal jerk. Then when the bogeyman/Aden comes on board, who acts like a total tool in the beginning I just was over the story by then. I’m not a fan of angst and this book had a lot of depressing angst. In many ways Mira had a hostile work environment and a bit of a stalker turned boyfriend situation going on.

There are some good things from the story such as Mira’s heart being mushy and caring as she helped her lesser fortunate new charges when she could. Seeing her grow as she started taking charge of her life.

I honestly didn’t feel the connection between Mira and Aden, I do realize that although he was a bit highhanded in how he handled things with her at times, his ultimate intentions were to have her get stronger.

I received and ARC from Hidden Gems and I am leaving an honest review.

Mira loved her job as a Fairy Godmother. The luxuries and status of being assigned to the prominent Charming family was a pretty nice bonus too. But all that wealth and reputation came crashing down on her pretty, purple wings when she was caught getting hot and bothered in a closet with Prince Charming.
Demoted for the affair and labelled a sex-addicted, degenerate Charming-molester. Mira has been keeping her head down, working as a common tooth fairy for the last ninety-nine years.

This certainly is an interesting and original concept. Every fairy tale creature you could think of, from Frog Princes to cupids, dwarfs and bogeymen, and of course tooth fairies and Fairy God Mothers, all work in bureaucratic office-like jobs, complete with the typical identical cubicles and strict uniforms differing on their Division. In a modern world where one wave of a wand could magic your problems away, is still subjected to the relatable stifling rules with no rhyme or reason, and plagued with corruption.

Wrath of the Tooth Fairy explores all these subjects and has fun doing it too. The downside however is that Mira is stuck on the self-pity train that made her a little hard to connect with. When she does, thankfully, start to come out of her world and see the issues and people around her, it was a sigh of relief. From then on, the story started to gain some much needed traction to move through the plot towards this story’s conclusion.

All in all, this was a fun, imaginative and noteworthy read, filled with self-discovery, friendships and romance. Where Wrath of the Tooth Fairy leaves off paints a far more compelling continuation to come and I personally am looking forward to seeing Mira in her new role with her fresh outlook on life.

Mira is a fairy godmother whose indiscretions with Prince Charming get her in trouble. She’s heartbroken, mad, and demoted to a tooth fairy. Fast forward 99 years and she’s working through her last year as a tooth fairy before she can return to the Fairy Realm and start her life fresh as a fairy godmother once again. During one of her nightly shifts gathering teeth she meets a shadow man. A demon. A bogeyman. After running in fear from this shadow man, Mira realizes that he stole something important from her. After this encounter, this bogeyman haunts Mira’s dreams.

I feel like Mira stated how she was disgraced in the Fairy Realm a bit too much. She mentioned it a dozen times in the first couple of chapters. The world building and magic system was wonderful and unique. The story itself was a great concept, but the execution fell flat. It had a lot of potential. The way the author portrayed the ‘poor’ family living in a trailer was classist and honestly one of the worst parts of this book. She stereotyped people living in trailers poorly, no pun intended. The family had a bunch of children all crammed into two small bedrooms and lice ridden. I get that Mira was supposed to be this kind tooth fairy, coming to the rescue of poor, impoverished children, but honestly, that characteristic and story line only took away from the book. And then her portrayal of the ‘immigrant housing’, Y I K E S. To add to those, the way the author wrote accents was appalling. At least a third of this book felt like filler. The timeline doesn’t seem to add up either. The love story aspect also had a ton of potential, but felt very forced. This bogeyman literally stalked this fairy and then what, she fell for him? He manipulated her. And there was very little love story to follow. The characters did not feel relatable.

I highly recommend this book for both young adult and adult readers of all ages!! It is a tale which puts some fairy tales into a whole different light!

Sarina Dorie has written a masterful piece of what happens to fairies who have been unjustly accused of actions which they had no control over and had been banished from the faerie realm as a result. It’s a story of one particular fairy who kept to herself without interacting with her co workers because she felt she didn’t deserve to make or have friends and how that changed with help from a most unlikely source!!

If you’re looking for a book which will make you feel good and give you courage to go back out into the world to face your obstacles and fears well look no further because this is a shinning star which will make you feel sooo good!

I know when you read it you’ll tell your friends and they’ll spread the word as well! Instead of a constant diet of television and it’s doom and gloom to disparage a sitting president, why not escape into a world in which you will feel joy as well as righteous anger at how some fairies lives have been destroyed but how when they bond together how their lives can change for the better!

With humor, love and caring for others you will see how that will help you begin to love yourself again and face your fears and doubts head on to change you into the person you were always meant to be!

I salute you Sarina for putting on paper a book everyone should read!! You have and will have made many people change their lives for the better as a result!!

Thank you!

Mira used to be a Fairy Godmother until fell in love and then was caught having a ‘moment’ with a Prince Charming. Labelled a pervert Mira is demoted to Tooth Fairy for at least one hundred years. She must now also live in the human world and take a Fairy Godmother correspondence course so that at the end of her 100 years she can hopefully get on the Fairy Godmother apprentice programme and start climbing her way back up.

However, this becomes harder and harder to do when Mira starts getting haunted by a Bogie-man. In a desperate attempt to get rid of the Bogie-man, Mira starts dating the Prince of Darkness and it’s not long before she is uncovering signs of corruption at work.

================

This book was so much fun to read and full of political intrigue! I love fresh retellings of fairy tales and this book really embodies that. I had never considered the idea of a corporation behind fairy tales so that was rather unique.

Certain elements were a little predictable, however overall this was a great read, with engaging characters and the pacing was spot on. I really hope that this is the first in a series because there were definitely a couple of things that did not feel properly tied off at the end.

What if the fairy tales are wrong, what if the Charming family isn’t full of wonderful prince heroes and angelic princesses? What if beneath the legends and myth really lies a corrupt system meant to elevate nobility and oppress the rest?

Mira is a tooth fairy banished from the fairy realm as a 100 year punishment for a “crime” of passion. She’s demoted from fairy good mother to tooth fairy and subjected to a life in less than ideal conditions. 99 years has passed and Mira is so close to being at the end of this chapter in her immortal life. All she needs to do is keep her head low and pass her exams to be returned to the life she misses and loved. Things however are not destined to be so simple and a chance encounter with a boogeyman while on the job changes everything. Mira is thrust into a spiral of events that will expose the corruption and deceit she’s been living with all along.

I could not put this book down. I found myself wrapped up in all the emotions that were carefully crafted into each page. The magical system is a fresh take on a worn out storyline that I could not get enough of. Even the smutty parts were well…. Satisfactory. I would absolutely recommend this adult fantasy to anyone who enjoys a new grown up spin on the classic disney-esk ideas.

Wrath of a Tooth Fairy by Sarina Dorie follows the misadventures of Mira, a former Fairy Godmother. Mira managed to fall from grace in the most disgusting way possible. And from there she becomes a Tooth Fairy where she is trying to work her way back to becoming a Godmother.

While reading this I kept comparing it to Helen Harper's How to Be the Best Damn Faery Godmother in the World (or Die Trying). There was similarities in the world where Godmothers are high ranking and fairies fight to get the coveted roll. I found the story fun and fast paced. I found the main character a little bland but she did grow. I read this book 3+ months ago so I am trying to recall opinions and really I remember wanting to read the next book because it was fun. The world structure stuck out and the ending of who was the bad guy was satisfying. The love interest was intriguing as plot device but overall I find the characters all forgettable. I have no real characteristics to describe them.

Three stars for being enjoyable, and I do want to read the next book. The characters need some work to be more definitive. I really can only describe their jobs/ what creature they are and that was for the main character and the big bad this book. Thank you to NetGalley, Sarina Dorie and REUTS Publications for the free copy. This is an honest review.

I quite enjoyed this story. Mira used to be a fairy god mother.. until a scandal between her and prince charming let to her being demoted to a tooth fairy. While all she wants to do is become a fairy god mother again, she does an awsome job of helping the children whose teeth she collects. While she does spend alot of time worrying about possibly loosing her wings, or being demoted to being a toilet fairy I really love how much Mira cares about the children she sees every night. She goes out of her way using her own magic and money to help them in anyway she can. I also loved seeing her realize that she actually does have friends, and could possibly fall in love again, even after the betrayal she suffered from Prince charming.

In the midst of Mira trying to study to become a fairy god mother again, making friends, and finding love again. She and her fellow tooth fairies uncover a plot that involves their direct supervisor and may go even higher up the ladder. Its up to the tooth fairies to find evidence to take him down, its a good thing Mira knows a boogeyman who can gather information for her.

I would love to read more books set in this world, especially following Jack and Mira.. I would love to find out more about his past and how he became a boogeyman.

After messing around with Prince Charming, fairy godmother, Mira, is left distraught, angry, and broken hearted. Working through a 100 year sentence of being a tooth fairy, on the 99th year, the bogey man shows up, Aden. After being robbed by Aden, her careless and strict boss shows no sympathy, thus making Mira take matters into her own hands.

A for effort for this book. While the story line and concept of the book was brilliant, the execution lacked heavily. While Mira carried a heart full of compassion and love, the way the author portrayed so much within this book was heart breaking. The author showed no real knowledge of low class and different races lived. Her lack of sympathy towards those stereotypes was a game changer for me. Basically, a large amount of the book was just *cringe*. The book have used another round of editorial work as most of the book could have been cut out. It should not have been so lengthy with all of the repeating nonsense. The short enemies to lovers feel lasted for all of about two pages(?), and even then, the characters did not mesh well.

I would like to thank NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Absolutely loved this book and I cannot wait to get a physical copy so I can proudly display it on my bookshelf.

Off to an embarrassing start, the fairy godmother Mira was caught in a closet with her bloomers around her ankles and Prince Theodorus Charming about to make love to her. Caught by the Prince's wife, unfortunately, and no explanations could deflect her wrath. Demoted to Tooth Fairy, 99 years later Mira is collecting teeth when she is robbed by a bogeyman. Not expecting any sympathy from her slimy batrachian boss, she decides to find the demon and "kick the poop out of him." We get a lot of insider information on the Charmings, apparently a very corrupt family. Mira and her fellow tooth fairies suffer from office politics, harassment, unreasonable work conditions, and administrative red tape. Mira has to overcome several major blocks to her advancement back to fairy godmother, including facing her worst fear and getting over her infatuation with Prince Charming. The story of how she succeeds is heartwarming, amusing, and inspiring.

Mira, as a fairy godmother, made an illicit mistake. She was caught in the coat room with a Charming. Banished down to tooth fairy, all she wants is to regain her position as a fairy godmother.
When it is time for her to try to be a fairy godmother again, things start getting weird. First she has a Boogeyman following her. Then she has a dark prince, who looks like a Charming, who is trying to woo her. Not to mention there is a whole lot of weirdness going on at work. That leaves Mira confused and looking for answers.
Opinion
This book is absolutely fabulous. By taking something meant for children such as the tooth fairy or a fairy godmother and turning it into an adult book, Sarina Dorie has hit gold. This was such a fun read that I thought about it as I went through my day and was forced to do something other than consume the book. This book will NOT leave you wanting for more. It was a fun read from start to finish.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.
