It's like Harris has the midas touch when it comes to romantic suspense; whatever she writes is pure gold. Hot Addiction couldn't have a more appropriate name because it was the most addictive, high octane thrill ride that was just as entertaining as it was deliciously hot!
Being a sucker for a second chance romance (because ANGST), I downright salivated when I read the blurb to this one.
Dex had been Annabelle's entire world once. He was her best friend's older brother, the love of her life, and the man she was going to marry...until she left him at the altar with nothing but a text to his sister. Dex has never forgiven Annabelle and he hasn't been the same man since. Turning to the army and then becoming a HOT operative, he has no time for frivolous things like love anymore. He doesn't even know if he believes in it. But when the woman from his past that he's never forgotten shows up on his doorstep begging him for his help, he knows he'll stop at nothing to protect her.
There was so much animosity and emotion between these two, you could cut the tension with a knife. Annabelle didn't leave Dex of her own free will and Dex will never know the reasons why. Heck, they no longer matter five years later, because he won't forgive her anyway. There's too much water under that bridge and way too many secrets. But when Dex realizes just how much danger Belle is in, somehow the adrenaline and hatred begins to turn into something more. The feelings from the past resurface. But can Dex forgive her the betrayal of their past in order to get a future for them?
I loved the angst between them. Theirs was a slow burn that was a delicious sizzle of need that eventually combusted into a raging storm of emotion and passion. I couldn't turn the pages quick enough. No one writes suspense and action quite like Harris and man but she outdid herself here. Not to mention there's a delicious little tidbit about the mysterious Colonel and his potential heroine that I gobbled up with a spoon! HOLY SET UP, BATMAN! SO. MUCH. NEED.
Hot Addiction was a perfect blend of romance and action. I loved watching Dex slowly unravel and realize his old feelings for Belle never left. They burned up the pages together. But now I'm actually shaking with need for the next book because OMG! That. Setup. Have I mentioned how much I need that book? BECAUSE NEED!
If you haven't read this series yet, I HIGHLY recommend it. Each book can be read as a standalone, but would be better enjoyed if read in order.

Lynn Raye Harris is a go to author for me. I like the mix of romance and tough guy/military that she writes as it is always well-balanced.
The fun of any elite military book is that they are capable...and more so than your average stockbroker hero, and in this one, Dex does not disappoint. And, the fact that he is capable, that you can trust him, and that he is the guy you want to have your back when there is a situation is exactly what Annabelle uses as her reason to reach out to him...and it is the reason he is ultimately not able to turn her away.
Dex and Annabelle have a history, and it is a harsh, heartbreaking one that leaves you with no doubt as to why Dex still holds a grudge. I think we all would...although, the more details you get from Annabelle, the more she tells Dex, the more his walls start to erode. And, you can understand why. The reasons behind what happened in the past are bad enough that you can move to forgive in the future. And, that is important.
The writing and the characters were strong, you like Dex and Annabelle and you want things to work out for them. You can feel her hurt and anguish over their past, and you can feel his anger...and those strong emotions tell you that there is still something there in the present.

I honestly love this series......I can never get enough of the HOT boys and their better halves.....
SO many books down the road and instead of the series getting stale or not as action packed as the first lot, they just get better and better....
Always a hot alpha male, a heroine who is courageous, sassy and kick ass and lots of romantic suspense to keep you turning the pages.....what more could a gal ask for?

I absolutely love this series! These hot, alpha men are an absolute delight. When I discovered the series I devoured every book published at that point in a few days. So its been a while since I read the last one and took me a minute to jog my memory and who was who. The last of the Alpha squad, Dex Davidson gets a second chance with his one true love who left him at the altar five years ago. I was slightly annoyed with Annabelle. She was actually pathetic and a coward. Lots of things could be avoided if there was trust, strength and communication. As usually there was a gripping suspense element, where the HOT squad come to the rescue. An enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to reading sexy Mendez's story :)

WOW! Another great HOT book. Dex/Double Dee is all kinds of yummy. He's still in love with Belle even if he doesn't want to admit it. Her and her daughter's life is threatened and in comes the HOT team to save the day. The bad guy was an old "friend" of HOT, not Ian. Speaking of Ian didn't see near enough of him in this book. Bad guy caught, old misunderstandings cleared up, and lots of hot bedroom scenes.
Yes...Colonel Mendez is up next, and I'm extremely happy if he hooks up with who I think he will be.

I try, I really try. Which is why I still go on with the HOT books despite being rather disappointed in Lynn Raye Harris's past installments.
I like Harris’s storylines—the mixture of devil-may-care action and the active form of counterterrorism that these HOT guys fight—and how these books are actually a build up of an overarching narrative of a complex network of spies, baddies and shady characters who drive the ongoing plot. ‘Hot Addiction’ reminds me very much of ‘Hot Shot’ with its similar plot though, and while it isn’t quite a rehash of it, this takes place so much further in the HOT universe that things have clearly changed in the military situation that the guys deal with, as there are more happily married ones around.
But there’re too many times in the series that I can’t get over the stupidity of many of the heroines whose spineless behaviour can’t hold a candle to the guys they want. Sadly, Annabelle is yet another one in the long line of those—which is why I’ll fondly remember Victoria and Lucky as the ultimate HOT women—who jilted Dex because she chose her parents over him. Then not being able to face the truth of whether her daughter is Dex or the man she left Dex for tanked Annabelle completely in my opinion.
I understand that characters have their flaws. Tt makes them human and relatable, though there are some faults that go beyond my own personal limits—the lack of trust destroying relationships irreparably being one of those, clearly. Annabelle's turning to Dex appeared more out of desperation than remorse and want, needing his company when she was scared witless yet it was still not enough to give up the whole truth to him. She gets my sympathy to an extent of course—a victim of rape never deserves it, despite what some people try to argue—but I couldn’t like her sufficiently because ultimately she didn’t have enough gumption to fight for what she wanted. I think she simply did way too many things wrong from the start which eventually snowballed into something she couldn’t control, then pretty much laying it on Dex when he tried to do the best by her just didn’t resonate with me, to put it nicely. That Dex was the one left grovelling in the end was probably the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
Clearly this review falls in the minority and it’s just me with my personal triggers and innate sense of ‘justice’ of wronged parties acting up here. It didn’t change the fact that I felt sorry for Dex though, even though his HEA seemed to be harder fought on his side than Annabelle who should had grown more than a pair…yesterday. My rating reflects this, but that’s not to say that I’m not going to follow up on Mendez’s story, hoping for another hit the next time around.

Lynn has a knack for writing HOT alpha male characters. I have her first three books in this incredible series and this book is the tenth! I loved the dual POV that wasn't identified, put more of a twist to who you were reading. Hot Addiction is filled with passion, loads of alpha males in and out of uniform, and a roller coaster of trouble.
Annabelle was recently widowed and trying to keep her husbands company above water. She is also a mother to an adorable little girl, Charlotte. Annabelle is attempting to get her life back on track when it's suddenly shaken up worse than before.
Des is a sniper for an elite Black Ops team called HOT (Hostile Operations Team). He was burned in the past by the love of life on his wedding day and has tried to make peace with it. Dex is constantly on the go at a moments notice because there was always wrong to righted in the world.
Annabelle was contacted about money her dead husband had stolen and was instructed to return it. Problem was she had no clue about the money and she needed help. She feared that her life and those around her were in danger. She went to the one person she thought she could trust, Dex. Dex was not willing to help the one who got away, after she so badly damaged his heart on their wedding day. After some calls to his team, he discovered that she was truly in danger. Dex will stop at nothing to protect Annabelle and her daughter.
Will Annabelle be able to tell Dex why she didn't show up on their wedding day? Does he forgive her? How far down the rabbit hole did her husband take them for money he had stolen?
I seriously could not put this book down! I had to know what was going to happen between Annabelle and Dex. Their chemistry and banter is off the charts! I have gone back to read the other books in this awesome series to see what I have missed. If you are all about an alpha male going after bad guys to save the woman he loves, read this!!

What a book!!! Hot Addiction is another sensational addition to Lynn Raye Harris' HOT series. Dex and Belles's story is full of angst, action, HOT passion and suspense that all lead to a heartwarming happily ever after. I've said it once (well, actually, more than once) and I'll say it again: Lynn is one of the best when it comes to writing second chance romance. I cannot wait for you all to read this book! Simply captivating!

WOW. Not sure what I can say about this book to get across how amazing it was. Every single part of it was just spectacular. The relationship, the action, the plot, everything-amazing!
Dex and Belle have a complicated relationship as it goes from lovers, to enemies, to friends, to lovers. Dex is another one of the HOT operators who just makes you swoon. He’s so strong in his dislike to Belle, yet he just can’t resist her and he can’t figure out if it’s because of their past or what.
Belle is someone you really feel for. Forced to break up with Dex and leave him at the altar and then marry someone she hates.
Dex and Belle have a little girl together, who Dex (and annabelle) get surprised with, but the ending chapter where Charlotte is calling Dex “daddy” is just so special and cute!
Mendez’s story is next and I’m so excited for it!

This book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone or part of the series. The characters are well developed and the action doesn’t let up from start to finish.
Aiden Snow is the perfect narrator for this book, with his gravely voice he fits my idea of a military black operative perfectly.

Another book that managed to keep me awake so I could finish it, not but I did finish it fast and I loved it, and will read it again, that is how much I liked it.
Dex Davidson was waiting for the love of his life, they were getting married, but the bride was late, that is until he read this message from her.

For my taste, repeating theexcuses reasons for her betrayal and adding a bit each time until the sordid past is revealed made Annabelle tedious. That said, the urgency, suspense, intrigue and drama of this outing shouldn't be missed. Though the series is best read in order, newcomers can enjoy it wherever they start, just decide to start.

HOT has no trouble getting on board when suspected treason will give terrorist regimes a leg up in their ongoing war and one of their own has his heart on the line. And the battle becomes even more personal when Dex realizes exactly what he stands to lose if he or his brothers are off by a millimeter or a millisecond.

Another mesmerizing, on the edge of your seat, sexy read by Ms. Lynn Raye Harris. I couldn't put it down. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Dex and Annabelle!

After being left at the alter Dex can't forgive Annabelle for the hurt she caused him. He has trouble believing it when she shows up 5 years later asking for his help. Annabelle tells Dex that she's being threatened over money that her dead husband had stolen. He tries to walk away, but he checks with his team and finds out that she could really be in trouble. At that point he can't turn his back on her. Then her friend Molly, her daughter Becca and Annabelle's daughter Charlotte are kidnapped. When she tells Dex about the kidnapping he takes command of the situation and tries to comfort her by promising he'd get them back. She doesn't understand how he can be so certain and he just says "it's my job" when asked. Finally, he admits to her that he's Special ops Counterterrorism and this is what his team does, At this point the team goes to work and the action starts. The team finds the money and rescues the hostages. For an extra twist in the plot Dex finds out that Charlotte is his daughter. Once Annabelle gets home, the action doesn't stop. Annabelle gets kidnapped and Dex needs to rescue her. Once Annabelle and Charlotte are safe Dex finally admits to her that he never stopped loving her. Like any good SEAL romance novel, in the end the boy gets the girl and saves the world from the bad guys. This is another hit in the Hostile Operations Team series.

You know the old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover"; well in this case don't judge a character by appearances in other books. Dex (aka Double Dee) has always been the relatively quiet guy in the HOT group. So this book was a shocker. The quiet guy is an alpha male in hiding.
It had to be so hard going back home for Dex with Annabelle living in town. If it weren't for family, I doubt he would've gone home because Belle hurt him so bad when she walked out. Little did Dex know the reasons behind it. Nor was he willing to listen. So what made this time different? Well, Belle's in trouble and needs his help and being HOT he has to help.
I do not know how he was able to sit through her telling him everything that happened to her. How did he not want to lash out and hurt someone (realizing the perpetrator was already dead). Then the shock of finding out he has a daughter...wow. How will he handle being HOT with having a wife and child? Will he "retire" like Hawk or will he re-up and continue to risk his life?
I loved seeing the Russians in this book again. I can't wait to see what is really going on with them and how they all tie back to Mendez. This series just keeps getting more and more interesting. Ms Harris knows how to entice readers and keep them coming back. Looking forward to more HOT!

I have to admit to judging a book by it's cover so from the minute I saw the muscular hunk of testosterone sharing Lynn Raye Harris' name on the cover I knew I was in for a thrill ride with sexy-as-sin Dex Davidson who is a highly skilled member of the Hostile Operations Team. Though it has been five years since Double Dee's fiancé broke his heart and left him standing at the altar he can't turn away from Annabelle when she suddenly reappears in his life with no where else to turn. He is justifiably hesitant to let her back into his life but one of the reasons I love this series is because it's not hard to predict that this highly principled Alpha hero will be putty in Annabelle's hands and his boss will be putting the full resources of this black ops unit in harms way. While circumstances ratchet up the danger factor, these two long lost lovers rekindle their emotional connection with plenty of sizzling sexual chemistry that earned a 5 star rating from this dedicated fan. I read a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my complimentary review are completely my own.

Another winner! From what it sounded like at the end, Dex is the last of the original HOT members to have his story. Fortunately, we'll still get to live in this world through their leader, Colonel John Mendez and the SEAL team spin-off. This book had the perfect mix of action, emotions, second chances, and several times I let out a 'mmhmm' (egotistical politicians, zingers like "Unfortunately, propaganda works. Even in the US.").
Colonel Mendez's background and future were further developed. I've had very little interest in him up until this point, but holy crap I need that story TODAY! Sadly, no Ian Black sightings. BUT it was funny that the characters mentioned they were surprised he didn't pop up. One day... :)

This book had me at the edge of my seat. I couldn´t put it down. I loved the characters, the men and women from HOT, and the kids. I loved the writing , I could feel the characters emotions in the words. And I liked the scorching hot sex scenes.
Hot Addiction is another great read in this great series.

I'm glad Ms. Harris, on book 10, continues to write an entertaining series. This book follows the up-and-down relationship of Dex and Annabelle. Dex is left standing at the alter by Belle and he is crushed. He spends the next five years hating Annabelle. When he's on leave tending to his father Annabelle seeks him out wanting his protection.
Annabelle is blackmailed into leaving Dex at the altar by her parents and Dex's rival Eric. With her husband's death the previous month Belle thinks she is finally free from Eric but his past mistakes come back to haunt her. It gets real for Belle when her young daughter gets kidnapped along with her best friend and her daughter. Will Dex put his past feelings for Belle aside and protect her?

Congratulations Lynn!!!! Just when I thought this series couldn't get much better....Out comes Hot Addiction!!! I swear it's your best one yet.
I truly loved this story and really, really wanted to dislike Belle after she left Dex at the alter. But couldn't. Between her history and her spunky, not going to take crap from anyone attitude, I fell in love with her. And Dex...seriously, who could resist him? I can't wait for more!

HOT is Hot! Wow. Everything about this book was 5 stars. The best story plot and super great back story. I can't wait to see what happens next. It is a must read for anyone who likes romance with their suspense and alpha males.

Ms. Harris does it again! A well-written, emotionally compelling story. I'm so thrilled Dex (Double Dee) Davidson finally got his woman. He and Belle were worth the wait!

Aiden Snow was the perfect fit for narrating this book. He has the gruff voice, but he pulls off the country twang from Kentucky and the Russian voices. He is just amazing.

Another second chance romance. All of the books in HOT series that I've read so far, I think this is the most heartbreaking backstory.
Annabelle left Dex in the altar without so much explanation. Three weeks later she married Erick, a man who always hated Dex and saw him as a competitor. Dex heartbroken and drove himself in his job. He hardened his heart and tried to hate Annabelle.
Five years later Annabelle comes to him and begs him to save her and hee daughter from a bad guy. So many twisted events and finally the truth come out. Annabelle never wanted to leave Dex, her parents forced her to marry Erick in order to save her parents's ass. Erick didn't love her, he just want to own her. He sexually abused her too.
I still don't know whether I like Annabelle or not. She might save her parents but maybe if she was braver and told Dex the truth, everything would be different but like she said, Dex would be furious and maybe killed Erick. And that gonna ruin his life, his family and Erick still got whatever he want. Maybe Annabelle is the too selfless kind of woman and I am far from that LOL.
I notice when Dex and Annabelle went to the market to meet Leonov, he said that he had to leave Jane (his sniper gun). But when shit go down, the team have to run for the airport. Did they just leave like that? I thought they leave some things at the hotel. And that would be a problem when the Jorwani authority found the that. Or maybe it's just I miss something.
I wish I could read Dex interact with Charlotte. They lost 4 years apart.

This is a great reunion story, which features the last single HOT operator and the woman who left him standing at the altar five years earlier. Dex is back in town after his father is injured in a fall. He has avoided Annabelle since the day she didn't show up for their wedding, marrying his rival three weeks later. And she's the last person he expects to see driving up his father's driveway, then begging for his help. Her husband was killed in Africa a month earlier, now someone believes she knows where he hid a fortune in money from the illegal sale of a classified device. She's been given twenty four hours to turn the money over, but she has no idea what her husband was up to or where the money went. Then her four year old daughter is taken as leverage. The clock is ticking and the stakes keep rising.
This book kept me reading late into the night. The action is near non-stop, the relationship between Dex and Belle is understandably strained throughout much of the book, and there are more than a few surprises. It's a book I can recommend for romantic suspense addicts.

The second chance romances I’ve been reading lately are really pulling out all the stops.
I really appreciate the continuing story line with this. We’ve been getting hints of things going on for most of this series, but the continuity between the last book, this book, and the next book is really nice even though they have stand alone story lines.
And I also like that the author manages to use that storyline without making it feel repetitive, which is actually the harder thing to do (especially because in the past, when she’s done this, it HAS felt really repetitive.)
I really liked Dex and Annabelle together. Their chemistry was good and their banter top notch. Annabelle didn’t just sit idly by and do nothing. She fought, worked for things, thought about how to get her daughter back or how to get out of a situation.
Dex was the last of the team to get married, so now we get to see Mendez, which I am SO hyped for.

Nuclear HOT!!
Wow, what a great addition to the HOT series! It feels like forever since the last HOT book but I still love the characters all the same when I start back up. Okay so synopsis is as follows: Dex is left standing at the alter waiting for the woman of his dreams to marry him. Fast forward five years and Belle has a child and is now widowed, however, not everything is as it appears. Belle has received a death threat with regards to her dead husband and apparently his theft of money from Mr Lyon, who wants it back. She is told not to involve the police and immediately thinks of Dex to help her. Eventually he comes aboard to help her and surprises jump at them like the Fourth of July fireworks. We get our HEA but boy am I interested in seeing the next book on Mendez!! Our badass HOT leader needs his own HEA:) Happy reading...

Dex aka Double Dee is now up for the cupids bow... Annabelle's husband has died in an unfortunate incident while on a safari. Or so it seems. She never showed up at the alter with Dex waited forever at the church. Now five years later she see's him in their home town. And she is in trouble. Her husband has somehow left her with a big debt to repay. And someone wants her dead. This was about second chances and a secret child. Dex is not wanting anything to do with her until his team finds out just what her husband had been up too. Now time is running out and civilians are being kidnapped and spirited to another country. Can the team figure out what is going on in time to save Dex's daughter and friends? The narration kept me involved the entire time.
