Amy Bennett, a new doctor, is on the way home from a triple-shift when she walks into a fight between Rhys and a dragon-demon. She thinks he is a drug dealer; the dragon she saw a hallucination from whatever he is selling. It turns out to be an induction into Rhys’ harsh mysterious world instead. Despite the intense, quick attraction between the two she has her own reservations as to why a relationship will not work between them.

Rhys Morgan is an immortal warrior that protects unsuspecting humans from the threat of demons. He gained the power of premonition when he transitioned into an immortal, and recently it has only shown him forthcoming deaths; one being Amy’s. His actions, though seemingly cruel, are all aimed at keeping her safe and out of his world. His reasoning for pushing her away despite the attraction is that everyone he starts to care for ends up dead.

Something is out there killing immortals, demon sightings are on the rise, and Rhys will have to ask for help from local immortals. Who is actually behind everything is unexpected; they are not sure what to do about it. On top of it all Rhys and Amy have to deal with their possible relationship before it is too late. Their minds are saying heck no to the relationship, while their bodies strongly disagree with what is said.

This story had an interesting and unique mythos for immortal warriors and demon species, I want to learn more about them. The hot romantic conflict that sizzles between Rhys and Amy is an added bonus. Point-of-view switches went smoothly, I always knew who was talking, and secondary characters' thoughts were brief and added to what was going on. I enjoyed this book as it had steamy intimate encounters balanced well with dangerous and exciting aspects. It also looks to be a really good beginning to a series and I look forward to the next one.

Amy Bennett is a doctor who finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. As she walks home from a late night shift at the hospital, she believes she hears a mugging taking place. She calls the cops and tries to help out a stranger in need, only to witness two men battling what looks to be a dragon...

My Immortal

This is a gr8 story. Tough, hunky man, & a strong, beautiful woman. Add a few other immortals, some demons, & of course gr8 sex, & you have a gr8 story. I recommend this to all PR's. Looking forward to the next story. 5 Thumbs up

I read this book in 2009 when it was originally published with the title MY IMMORTAL. It was my first taste of J.K. Coi and I had enjoyed it! Then I saw that the series, IMMORTAL WARRIORS, was being re-released through Ellora’s Cave. First, it’s exciting to see the series being widely available again, and second… I couldn’t remember one thing about what happened in this book. So I had to read this re-release again!

The Immortal Warriors are bad ass and mysterious. Just how I like my alpha men. The basic concept of these immortals is that there are a few chosen people that are genetically predisposed to becoming an immortal and when an immortal dies, they “activate” that, whatever that is, and go through their transition.

Rhys and his men are fighting a rogue immortal of sorts that is after killing them all and in the process he meets Amy, a human doctor with quite a bit of spunk. While he is immediately attracted to her, and of course she’s attracted to the bad boy wearing leather, he wants to keep her away from him and his world of war and death. But faith had something different in mind because as it turns out Amy might just be right in the middle of the action.

This story has bad boys galore that you just want to read all about them, and a great concept, which sort of reminds me of the Wings in the Night immortals by Maggie Shayne. Rhys is a hot and sexy hero, if you’re like me and love a rough around the edges, leader, bad boy.

Since I don’t really remember the original story and I didn’t write reviews back then, if anyone has read these and knows if there were changes, I’d love to hear about it.

Can’t wait for the next book to be re-released! Yes, I have read the old version but I actually remember that one because it was more recent.

Rhys Morgan is a different breed all together. He is a Immortal warrior and it is hard to kill them. What Rhys has is a gift of seeing things happening to people but he can only have them when they want to come not when he wants them to. He has been having dreams about a woman named Amy for a while now. He see’s that she is covered in blood and she is protecting someone. He does other things to get her off his mind until one night when he is training a new Immortal. They are so into killing demons that they don’t even know that they are being watched.

Amy Bennett is a doctor. She is feeling something missing in her life and doesn’t know what it is. She doesn’t trust or love easily. Good thing she has a twin brother who is always there to help her out. He might be a little over protective but that’s what big brother’s are for even if it is only by four minutes. Amy is walking home in the dark one night when she hears a gun go off and she runs to see if she can help. What she sees makes her believe that she is just seeing things. How do you have a gun shot wound heal quickly without using anything?

These two fight everything that they feel for the other. Amy sorta comes around faster than Rhys. That is usually how it goes. You always have to have a alpha male that is always in charge and knows how things need to go. I really loved how this book played out and it makes me want to read the rest in the series. This is not a new author for me so I knew her writing style when I first started reading. I couldn’t seem to put my kindle down. I wanted so bad to go out and buy the rest of the series but knew that I had to hold off.

I am glad when an author comes up with something new to write about. That is what keeps it interesting. I still love my vampire and wolves though. That is something I could never let go of. I would just tell everyone that this is a book you really need to read.

This book is a must read! It was an amazing story that had lots of offer in terms of the story line and it drew me in from page one and I just couldn't stop reading it! There was action, suspense, and an enough romance and sex to keep me turning the pages and waiting to see what would happen next. There were so many aspects to this story that it not only just gripped you, but it cut right to your core. Packed full of passion, suspense, adventure and lots of steamy and hot sex this book kept me engaged and I didn’t want to put it down.

Rhys is an extremely sexy and dangerously good looking alpha male. He is torn between what he feels in his heart and what his head is telling him is right. He is a Killer of demons and fights for what is good but this doesn’t leave the time for a relationship of any kind, or so he thinks. Then he meets Amy, the beautiful and intelligent woman that speaks to his soul on a completely different level than anyone else ever has. Amy is definitely a spitfire and I love her character. These two have an instant chemistry and the scenes between them are extremely well written and WOW can you say HOT! The secondary characters were just as fantastic and I want to know more about them. I can’t wait to read about them in the next book in this series.

The story itself was a new and interesting take on the paranormal world and I found it interesting, intriguing and one that I read until the wee hours of the morning. It was a compelling story from the first page to the last, it offers readers a well developed story and complex characters. I can’t wait for the next book in the series I want to read more about this world and what happens next. I would recommend this to all who love a great action filled paranormal romantic read!

Seer

So immortals who try to save humanity from the demons a good foundation. Rhys is dealing with his own demons especially because of the long life he has lived. When amy starts arriving in his dreams things are getting a little dicey for him. Amy is a doctor trying to live a normal life until she tries to save an immortal. I really enjoyed this book and it was a good start to the series.
