This story is a contemporary romance with a little twist. This is the first book I have read from this author and now she has a new fan. This is the fifth and final book to the Cates Brother series. It can be read as a stand alone. This book had me turning the pages one after the other. I was glued to my Kindle. The storyline had me hooked at the very first page. I finished this wonderful book in only one sitting.

Jolene Joyner has always been a goodie two shoes. She felt like she had to be perfect for her parents. She has a troubled sister that they only here from on occasion. She is now a school teacher that loves her job and students. One night she finds herself in a predicament that only one person can get her out of. Jolene doesn't not like Paxton at all. They have been sworn enemies since grade school. She finds out that he is happy to help her but for a price. Jolene is also coming out of her shell more and wants to enjoy life. Will this goodie two shoes get into some trouble even Paxton can't get her out of? Will she mix business with pleasure?

Paxton Cates is a very handsome lawyer that everyone knows. He is excited that his brother's found love. Paxton doesn't want love after his last relationship. He doesn't want to get hurt again. His only focus is his career and one day making it into a judge chair. He gets a call that changes his life. Jolene needs his help and deep down he knows he needs to help her. He makes a deal with her but he quickly figures out that this could be more than just business. Will Paxton fall for the enemy or will they continue to hate one another?

This book has it all romance, deception, and forgiveness. This book kept me interested all the way through. This story will keep you on your toes. You will fall in love with the characters instantly. Jolene is so beautiful on the outside as well as in. She is very brave for helping her family through a devastating disease. Paxton is gorgeous but he also has a heart. He loves his family and they are all really close. These characters have some very intense chemistry. I could not believe that they hated each other in the beginning. These characters have some very steamy scenes that will make your toes curl. I love it when authors write their books in both characters points of views. This makes you have more of an emotional connection to the characters. I also love that you get to know other members of their family. I now need to read the other stories of the Cates brothers. I am so excited I found this series.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

This was great story that portrays the very fine line between love and hate.  Two characters who have been obsessed with disliking each other from an early age but is this obsession really hate?  Or is it something else.

Obviously based on the story synopsis, as the reader you know it is something else.  The fun part is being along for the journey as the characters realize this for themselves.

While this is part of a series that features the Cates brothers, it can easily be read as a stand alone.  While I have read most of the series, I somehow missed the second book and there was zero impact to the enjoyment of this story.  In fact. all can be read on their own but considering it is a good series, why not start at the beginning an read them all?

Overall a good read that entertained me with the right amount of drama, steam and angst!

Loved this story! It's filled with humor, lots of snarky banter between Paxton and Jolene, and a fun enemies to lovers romance. Great characters and great writing make it very enjoyable.

Paxton Cates is a lawyer in Climax, NC with plans to become a judge. To move up in the legal community of Climax he needs to mingle. Attending events alone doesn't seem to be working. He needs a girlfriend, With no prospects and no time to find one Paxton is at a loss. Then he gets a call from Jolene Joyner. It seems that little Miss Perfect has gotten herself into some legal trouble. So he strikes a bargain with her. He'll take her case and keep everything secret if she'll agree to pose as his girlfriend. Attend functions with him. Basically help him achieve his goals. Best laid plans.....

A delightful read that I recommend to everyone.

Reviewers! YOU CAN'T HURRY LOVE is available on NetGalley!

Book #5 in the Cates Brothers series is an enemies to lovers and fake relationship story.

Paxton Cates and Jolene Joyner met in preschool when he’d cut off one of her pigtails. She’d burst into sloppy tears and he’d had to spend recess in the time-out chair. Instant enemies. The older they got, the less they got along.

But when Jo gets arrested she has to call Paxton for help.
Sure, he'll act as her lawyer...if she'll act as his girlfriend.
What's a little quid pro quo between enemies?

You can’t Hurry Love is the fifth book in A Cates Brothers Series by Lee Kilraine. This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I am so disappointed that I hadn’t discovered her work sooner. I loved this quirky, fun and erotic, enemies to lovers/contemporary romance. It had a great pace and was so quick and easy to read. I didn’t put it down till I had read through to the end. Now that I have read this book, I will definitely be going back and reading the rest of the series.
Jolene Joyner is the English teacher at the local high school in her home town of Climax, North Carolina. She loves her job, her students and everything literature related. She has grown up trying to live up to her parents incredibly high expectations, and protecting her impeccable reputation by always doing the right thing. Her goody-two-shoes reputation has followed her from childhood into her adulthood. It’s like a millstone around her neck, a burden she would rather not carry.
One night she finds herself somewhere she’d never have dreamed possible, on the wrong side of the law. She has no other choice but to call her childhood nemesis to get her out of her predicament.
Paxton Cates is a very successful lawyer, who dreams of one day becoming a Judge. He’s recently moved back to Climax after being away for the better part of ten years. He comes from a very close-knit family, and is one of five brothers. He can’t believe it when he gets a call from Jolene for help, especially since they have hated each other ever since he’d cut of one of her prized pigtails back in Kindergarten. She’d been a thorn in his side ever since. But Jolene was beloved by the citizens of Climax, everybody loves her and she could not put a foot wrong. She may be exactly what he has been looking for. So, he decides to help Jolene on the condition that she does him a favour in return. He needs to climb the social ladder and schmooze all the right people, if his bid to become a Judge is to be successful, something his bachelor status has prevented him from achieving so far. What he needs to accomplish this is a girlfriend, so he asks Jolene to ‘pose’ as his girlfriend for six months to help open the right doors and give his bid to become a Judge a real shot.
But there may be someone who isn’t too happy to see the two of them together. Someone who seems to want to ‘break’ them up. There are also a few hiccups when Miss Goody-two-shoes decides that she is sick of following the rules, and wants to experience more of life, even if that means breaking a few rules. Can these two ‘work’ together to make Paxton’s plans come to fruition? Or will all their animosity and loathing destroy any chance of success? Will they allow a friendship to blossom between them? What happens when things don’t go the way they had planned? Will they both finally see what’s been in front of them the whole time?
I really enjoyed watching Jolene grow and blossom as the story unfolded. She let her wild side out of the closet and let herself have some fun. She had me laughing out loud with her penchant for list writing, some of her lists were hilarious. I also loved her relationship with her best friend Georgie, their shared scenes resulted in some witty, funny banter and antics. Paxton and Jolene had some serious chemistry, which sizzled off the pages. I enjoyed watching Paxton interacting with his family, especially his brothers, there were some really funny moments, but I also loved their camaraderie.
The ending was quite wonderful, emotional and touching- Ms. Kilraine wrapped everything up brilliantly.
I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

Thank you, Ms. Kilraine!

You can’t hurry love is a book 5 in the Cates Brothers series, but can be read as a standalone, this book is from author Lee Kilraine and is my first book from this author, and defiantly won’t be my last. I cannot wait to see what other great stories this author gives us, and whether they will be as captivating, enjoyable and hooking as this one. You will be hooked from the first page, with the incredible characters that this author creates, you will love them, connect with them and be routing for them from the get go.

This was a brilliant book, that has me well hooked from the first page until the very last. I was captivated, entranced and truly enjoyed every single thing about this book.
This book had various themes throughout it from love, romance, passion, friendship, family, heartache and many more. This book also had a great deal of emotions from the characters that as the reader I could truly feel, such as, love, passion and heartache and happiness. I’ve laughed, smiled, been worried that something could truly throw our two main characters Paxton and Jolene off course.
This book had some incredible scenes between the two main characters and I loved reading their interactions with each other. I loved the back and forth that these two characters had, it gave this book some humour to it, but also showed that sometimes love can come from the strangest of places. I loved the twist that this story had, and this has got to be my first enemies to lovers read but under all the negativity that they had towards each other from years and years of competing or just being around each other, they have an undeniable passion that is sizzling hot as soon as they really start spending time together and discovering things about each other. They have some amazing hot steamy scenes. Scenes of just being in each other’s company that really give them a chance to learn things about each other, that really make them start to believe the years of anger and animosity towards each other was just passion and feelings for each other being hidden, and not knowing how to express them for each other. You could tell that what these two characters will have will be real, and a lasting relationship filled with hope, love and passion. If they get their HEA.

This book was made even more brilliant by the secondary characters that were in this story. I loved Georgie, and all of the Cates brothers. I loved the connection Jolene has with her family especially when her mum is fighting an awful disease. I also feel the pain of Jolene’s missing twin, she plays a big part into the character of Jolene and why she is how she is, the decisions and actions that she has made all of her life. Its brilliant to see her blossom and come into her own through this book.

Another great thing with this book is that it was written in dual POV’s. I love reading it from the characters POV’s as we get to really see their thoughts and feeling from them rather than the other person. I also think it helps connect with a character as you get to understand some of their reasons of their actions!

I would highly recommend this read to all. Its full of love, humour, passion and great characters in which you will be routing for them to get their HEA.

The author is looking for an honest review.

3.5 stars.

If you love the we used to be friends, now I hate you, and then to I really need your help and we can be friends again book, this is it for you. The whole story line was fun, a little over the top but interesting because the characters made it that way, I will tell you, you need to read this book. Both Jolene and Paxton are great characters that have a lot going on in life but each want more. One is trying to get to a dream that is almost in his grasps, and the other is trying to find herself again. Both of them have a lot to learn from each other and it is fun to see them find out more than they thought was going on during the book. I was truly entertained the whole way through and the side characters made it so much more interesting because they knew the main characters so well.

Jolene has played the good girl all her life. She never upset the ranks, she kept her head down and did what her parents wanted her to do, her sister is the one that lived her life the way she wanted to live it. At the beginning when she is arrested for breaking and entering, she had no where to turn except for Paxton. She needs to keep her good girl reputation and she needs to get out of the mess she created. Paxton, a lawyer now wants to become judge, the problem is he never gets invites because he is not married. When Jolene calls and asks for help, he realizes he has an opportunity to get what he wants too. There will be resistance from Jolene, because she thinks its crazy, but realizes Paxton has come to fix her problems. Contract is determined and they have to pretend to boyfriend and girlfriend for six months. So how do you go from hating someone to falling in love instantly. I have to tell you, it was fun watching these two grow. You see Jolene start coming out of the shadow that she made for herself. She begins to live and it was so much fun seeing her come out of her comfort zone. Paxton will learn what is really important to him, what it is that actually makes him happy. Both of them will do crazy things, say stupid things, make mistakes, make up, and realize some things were really a lot different than they thought. Both will learn to trust and enjoy life a little more. The thing is, is better for them to be together or a part.

I enjoyed watching both of these characters grow in this book. The author had a fun way of showing what happens when life throws them a curve. You learn to run with it and see what you can make of it. Finding an author that you can read and enjoy the book and what it means reading it makes me extremely happy and I am so happy that I found this author.

You Can't Hurry Love (A Cates Brothers Book) by Lee Kilraine is part of her A Cates Brothers series. This story can be read as a stand alone. This is the first book I have read by this author and I know that I will be reading the other books in this series too. She has written a contemporary romance that will keep you engaged from the start. She will pull you in from the first word. Her attention to details are creative and make the story flow. I enjoyed her characters, they are connectable, lovable and true to life. They really do just pop off the pages. This is the story of Paxton and Jolene. Their story is about achieving dreams and finding themselves in the process. They have known each other since they have been small. They haven't never really gotten along until now. Paxton has dreams that he wants to achieve and he needs someone to help him. Jolene is one who never breaks the rules but she wants more out of her life. So when she finds herself in some trouble, she turns to one person, Paxton. He uses this as a way to get what he wants and needs. But what will happen when they realize that they have more in common then they realized? Their chemistry and attraction to each other is out of this world. Can they pretend to be boyfriend-girlfriend for six months and not get get more then they bargained for? You will fall in love with these two. Jolene is strong, but when she starts coming out of her shell, watch out. She wants to keep her reputation but yet she wants to live life. She really does grow throughout this story and it was great to see. Paxton is the handsome lawyer who is determined to get what he wants. It was great also watching him grow. He learns to find things out about himself that he didn't know he had in him. Both of them go through life struggles that you will keep hoping to see their HEA at the end. They are great together even though they really couldn't stand each other in the beginning. They both need to learn to trust and live life. Will they find this together or are they better off a part? The secondary characters in this story is great and strong as well. They are so supportive and really just great. They help make this story for what it is. I had a hard time putting their story down as it will keep you reading until the last page. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to see if Paxton and Jolene find their HEA and will they each get what they really want.

You Can't Hurry Love (A Cates Brothers Book)
By: Lee Kilraine
5 out of 5 stars

The story You Can't Hurry Love (A Cates Brothers Book) by Lee Kilraine is a contemporary romance book. This is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It tells the story of Paxton Cates and Jolene Joyner. From the very beginning, I could tell that these two didn’t get along with each other. They have been that way since they were children. Jolene finds herself in a situation that the only person she can call on for help is Paxton and is now in his debt. In order to further his career, Paxton needs to be in a committed relationship. That is where Jolene and her debt comes in. I loved the characters of Joleen and Paxton. Joleen is a woman who has a clean reputation and is not known to break the rules. She is also someone who wants more out of life and doesn’t want to play it safe anymore. Can she break out of the mold that she is in and start living the life she wants? Paxton is handsome and a man that any woman would love to date. He, however, is focused on his career. This agreement with Jolene is all business, isn’t it? I loved reading how these two interact. Their dislike for each other begins to change. The chemistry between these two goes off the charts and they find themselves falling for each other. I was reading about two people who find that they may have misjudged each other. I wanted them to have a happy ending. There are quite a few secondary characters in this book. They are the family of both Paxton and Joleen as well the people in the town that they live in. This is a small town and I found it funny to read about how that when actions or words are said in front of certain people the whole town knows what is going on. I loved reading about Paxton’s family. Reading about how they interact with each other shows you just how close knit they are. This is the first book that I have read by the author and have found her to be a wonderful storyteller that creates characters that I fell in love with. I am going to have to read her other books that revolve around the other Cates brothers. This story does have adult situations which include steamy love scenes. It would be recommended for those 18 years of age or older.

You Can't Hurry Love (A Cates Brothers Book) by Lee Kilraine

5 Stars

I loved loved loved this book. Everything there is about this book was perfect in my opinion. I couldn't set it down once I started it, and I mean that literally. I'm only sad that this was my first book by this author. I have every intention of getting all the books before this one and devouring them but I can't help but wish I had started at the beginning of the series.

I love enemies to friends to lovers books, but this one climbed to the top of the list. It all started when Paxton pulled the chair right in front of the cell that Jolene was currently occupying. I thought to myself right then...yep this is gonna be a good one. The interaction between these two was amazing, and that it had been going on since preschool and him cutting off one of her pigtails was genius.

The families got to me, both sides were so loving and caring and that tore at my heartstrings and made me smile. The town and how they all reacted to these two was hilarious as well as the brotherly love with all the Cates brothers. Besides the main characters I'd have to say Georgie and the way she took her best friend role so serious was one of my favorite parts of this book…

…...Paxton leaned forward over the counter. “Why is Georgie looking at me as if I sneezed on her goodies in the display case?” Glancing over her shoulder at Georgie, who still had her death stare aimed at Paxton, Jo said, “Just ignore her. She doesn’t eat enough fiber.” “I heard that.”.......

This author's writing style is why I love to read, perfect flow and just the right amount of content, no filler fluff. I'm seriously hoping there are at least two more books in this series, one for Georgie and the other for Darlene, I'm just feeling like there might be a lot more to that story then we know.

Many thanks to this author for a fantastic feel good read!

Book Review: You Can't Hurry Love
Author: Lee Kilraine
Four stars
This is the first book for me by this author and I am excited to see that it is the fifth book in the series. I am definitely going to have to go back and read about the other 4 Cates brothers.
Author, Lee Kilraine, has written a very entertaining story about 2 people who have been arch-enemies since early childhood when Paxton Cates cut off one of Jolene Joyner's pony tales.
Having grown up together in a very small town there isn't anyone who doesn't know who they are or who their families are. Now Jolene is in need of Paxton's help and he has a deal for her. He will help her free of charge if she will help him by "pretending", convincingly that they are in a relationship. This book goes through how they get to that agreement and the subsequent events that happen during and after said agreement.
It is a pretty good book, although kind of long and drawn out in parts, there could have been more done in some of the slower areas. I am hoping to eventually see where Kilraine can go with these characters though. Georgie and Gage would be an interesting read or even delving into the Cates brothers and their lives.
The biggest lessons I took from this book were, following your heart is usually the way to go. Jolene never gave up her love for her students and put them before even herself. And Paxton was able to discover that yes he had his life mapped out and what he "thought" he wanted but by opening his heart and his mind he got oh so much more than he ever dreamed possible.

You Can’t Hurry Love
By Lee Kilraine

What a lovely story! This is the first book that I have read by this author and whilst it is the fifth book in the series I had no problem reading it as a standalone and will definitely be going back to read about the other Cates brothers! Especially if they are all as hot and sexy as Paxton!
This book has a great enemies to lovers plot to it with a few twists along the way. I loved the relationship between Jolene and Paxton. I could imagine them as 5 year olds pulling each other’s hair because they secretly liked each other and now as adults it’s not much better! I love how easily she could rile up Paxton, it made me chuckle a few times! But even underneath all the annoying each other and winding each other up the sexual tension between them is fizzling like no other! I loved how Jolene wasn’t what I expected at all – she really was a great person and genuinely cared about her students. My heart did break for her during some parts of the story too.
Paxton – probably the hottest lawyer ever!! I absolutely loved him! He was funny and genuinely like Jolene even if she was sceptical of him! The first scene between them in the book was probably my favourite though! I thought it was a great opener for the story!
Overall a really great read with lovely characters, great pace and flow and with some nice unexpected twists. I highly recommend it.

#5 in the Cates Brothers romance series

What a fun book! This is a new-to-me author, and she grabbed my attention from the very first page, building the personalities of the characters from the beginning. Their casual camaraderie made me smile throughout, with some LOL's thrown in now and then. And the characters were charming and so well designed that I felt like I knew them right away. The small-town setting made the local gossip very believable, and Jolene's latest escapades were clearly shocking to everyone since she's always been a goody two shoes. Plus she and Paxton have hated each other (supposedly) since childhood. So when he helps her out of her legal troubles, he makes her an offer she can't refuse. Soon the romantic sparks fly between them. It's obvious they care about each other, but both are fighting the attraction. I loved their individual personalities--strong, attractive, driven, and warmly loving to their families and friends. Their friendly bickering was very entertaining. I haven't read any of the previous books in this series, but I had no problem understanding the relationships and interactions. As a matter of fact, all it did was whet my appetite for more in this series, so I will definitely go back and start from the beginning.
NOTE: The length of time it took me to finish this book in no way reflects its quality. Real life and other reading commitments intruded, which made the length my reading time overly inflated.

Boy do I ever wish I'd discovered this author much sooner rather than at the tail end of a series. I'm truly impressed with just how entertained I was throughout the story...actually dreading its ending, I wasn't ready to let go of Paxton and Jolene yet...from the opening paragraph, I was hooked by by the couple. Their distain for each other jumped right off the page, making me laugh so many times...knowing that their bickering was hiding true feeling. The journey they took to get to their HEA was one that was heartwarming, made so much more by many of the other players and the town and its residents, who also brought so much light to the couple's story.

Some of the most humorous moments in the story were those between Paxton and his brothers. The jabs, smack downs, wicked banter, and overall brothers being brothers were priceless. There were also some very poignant moments with Jolene and her rediscovery of her true self and going after that part of she left behind. Paxton's support of her journey was one that touched my heart.

Overall this is one of those stories that will stay with me long after I have finished reading it. And now having been introduced to the other Cates brothers, I find the need to catch up on their stories.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

You Can’t Hurry Love- Lee Kilraine

5 out of 5 stars

You Can’t Hurry Love by Lee Kilraine is a must read, if I could give it more then 5 stars I certainly would. This is book 5 in The Cates Brothers series, it was the first book I read in the series so I can honestly say it can be read as a standalone, however, I wish I had read them in order because I loved this one and I imagine I’ll love the first four just as much so I would advise reading them in order to get the whole picture. This was a truly beautiful romance about an unlikely match, two people loved by all yet despise each other, their chemistry, though denied by both, is through the roof and their easy banter was so entertaining. This was one of those books that pulled me in from the start; one I didn’t want to put down.

Paxton and Jolene were so perfectly described that I felt like I knew them personally. And while this is a romance story it’s also so much more, it’s a story about freedom and letting go, about learning what you want in life and what truly matters. I honestly didn’t want their story to end, I actually shed a few tears when it was over and the only thing that helped me was knowing that I had four more Cates brothers’ stories to read. I will forever recommend this story to others, as it was truly memorable to me; I can’t wait to read the first four books!

You Can’t Hurry Love by Lee Kilraine is the fifth book in her Cates Brothers series and it is the first one I have read and I have to admit that I have missed out on some greatness! The way the writer pulls you into the world of Climax, NC with its quirky characters leaves you panting for more SO I know what I will be doing next, I will be starting with book 1 of the series! Cannot wait for the weekend to get here! Why do we need to work?!
So, You Can’t Hurry Love is the story of Jolene Jolene Joyner and Paxton Cates. Jolene is a good girl who has coloured inside the lines all her life and suddenly this Ms Goody Two-Shoes has gotten off the good track and … well, I am sure you can imagine. Paxton is a handsome lawyer that can charm anyone out of their … well, depending on their gender, just use a bit of imagination!
These two have been sworn enemies since grade school when Paxton cut off Jolene’s braid but right now, Jolene needs his professional help and Paxton needs a make believe girlfriend to advance his carrier so does that not sound like a perfect recipe for some mayhem!
I love the humour that was peppered throughout the story, the chemistry, the heartbreak, the devastation, the emotional connection … I can only imagine what the other Cates brothers’ stories might be like! Lee Kirlaine, you have gained a new fan! Keep bringing us more of Climax!

You Can't Hurry Love
A Cates Brothers Book
By Lee Kilraine
☆☆☆☆☆
A pretend romance with the one you hate. That is the story here. Full length novel on how to find love in all the wrong places.

Jolene is a High School teacher who loves her students. She will do anything for them. Including break the law, if it will help them. She is all about doing what makes others happy. Most often she forgets about her own needs and desires. But then there is that one kid she went to school with. They spent most of their years in school hating each other. Now she has no choice but to call on him for help.

Paxton is a law attorney in the small town of Climax, North Carolina . He is loved and respected by most. There is that one gal that has been his enemy since he cut her hair in kindergarten. She has called him for help, and he would like nothing better then to make her suffer. But being who he is, he can't just sit by. A bargain is made and he is interested to see how far it goes.

Lee Kilraine writes interesting stories of these two characters. Her book has comedy, angst and romance. But it also has a special touch of loving others. Doing the right thing is fine, but when you have to the wrong thing, to make it right. That is when everything falls into place. I love this story and can't wait for the next Catan Brother adventure.

You Can’t Hurry Love – A Cates Brothers Novel by Lee Kilraine

This is the first story I’ve read by Lee Kilraine and it appears to be book number 5 or 6 in the series. I enjoyed it very much and will be adding the other books in this series to my ever growing to be read list.

Paxton Cates is a lawyer following his dream. Jolene Joyner is a teacher who deferred her dream to appease her parents. Paxton and Jo have known each other since kindergarten when he cut her ponytail and it has been downhill ever since.

This story is sweet and charming. I could picture it as a Hallmark Channel movie (if HC had charming movies with hot sex). The characters are well developed, the settings are described in such detail that I could visualize the scenes as they unfolded and the family connections are deep. There is something that I wish would have been explained better. Paxton peeks into Jolene’s closet and finds a treasure trove. It’s never talked about again and I wanted more detail of what was in there and why. It was not enough of a distraction to take me out of the story, though.

This is a book that I would recommend to my mom (and tell her to skip the sexy parts because she is my mom after all).

You Can’t Hurry Love by Lee Kilraine is such a sexy and heartwarming book! 5 out of 5 stars! The characters are awesome and the story line is perfect. Throughout the book there is a time where I could guess what was going to happen but, I was not disappointed, the way the scene played out gave me so many feelings.

Paxton and Jolene (Jo) grew up together in the small town of Climax, and they hate each other. They meet again as adults when Paxton has to get Jolene out of Jail. Paxton then propositions Jolene to act as his pretend girlfriend for six months to help move him up the chain in his career. Enter Paxton’s evil boss, his ex girl friend and Jolene having a sort of mid life crisis, which is finally forcing her to be herself after years of being the good girl.

This book touches base on some topics that really grabbed my heart. Because of this book, I now wish I could save every dog at animal shelters! I also am very heartbroken for Jolene, having a family member with Alzheimer’s. I can imagine that is not an easy thing to experience and my heart ached for her family.

I would definitely recommend this book to any romance readers, this is a perfect mix of sexy, drama, heart ache and beautiful moments.

You can't hurry love but you can find yourself in the process. There were times that I felt Jolene's need to be a bad girl. I mean who doesn't want to be the bad girl a time or twelve. I loved the chemistry between her and Paxton. Who is NOT the average lawyer, he's kinda hot. And as a law abiding citizen I loved that he embraced Jolene's attempts to be a bad girl, lol.

I definitely laughed out loud, the steamy parts had me looking at lawyers differently, but I loved the banter between the two. She gave as good as she got, probably the English teacher in her. And Paxton had a come back for everything. The one time he was speechless I cheered her on.

OK, so the book. Jolene kinda got in trouble so Paxton helps her out. And as enemies since kindergarten, he has stipulations of course. Jolene agrees to help for 6 months to be his girlfriend because she's the look he needs as a loved teacher in town. Only she likes being the bad girl and that's just not what they agreed to. You gotta read it to find out the balance and how Jolene discovers the right balance of naughty, nice, and bad girl.

A fan of the writing, it was fast paced and I loved it.

You Can’t Hurry Love, Cates Brother Series by Lee Kilraine. As this book is the 5th book in the series; you don’t need to read the first four books to like this one, but you might want to start there.

Paxton Cates and Jolene Joyner have disliked each other since high school because of misunderstanding and since then they both enjoy pushing each other buttons; more Paxton then Jolene. When Jolene finds herself in a bit of legal need she has no chose but to call Paxton for help. Paxton sees this as a perfect opportunity for Jolene to help him with his career goals. This is an enemies-to-lovers romance story; it has hilarious bantering, “Twister” car sex and some B & E into an animal shelter.

Has a book title ever made you think of a song and that song gets stuck in your head the whole time? This book had me humming “You Can’t Hurry Love” (the Phil Collins version) all the way through. The lyrics go so well with this book; bet there stuck in your head now!!!

My favorite scene has to be when Jolene is grocery shopping and she runs into Paxton. It had me laughing out loud and made me want Butter Rum Lifesavers. Paxton’s brothers were hilarious and I think meeting them sold me on wanting to read this series from the beginning.

You can't hurry love by Lee Kilraine is the fifth book in the Cates Brothers Series follows the rocky relationship of Paxton and Jolene.

This is the first book I have read by this author and thoroughly enjoyed this story and felt it can be read as a stand alone.

Paxton is a Lawyer in a town called Climax but he always have ambitions to be more than just a lawyer, but to get where he wants to be he needed to go to alot of parties and socialising, the only problem is he needs a girlfriend to be respected in these circles.

Jolene Joyner is in trouble and needs a lawyer, so she lands upon Paxton. After they strike up a deal for him to represent her and also keep her secrets as long as she agrees to pose as his girlfriend.

All the best plans goes up in the air and as the charade goes on the attraction between these two ignites and causes fireworks.

As the story goes through you get to see the interaction between these two main characters which jumps off the page, I really enjoyed the banter between them and the sexual chemistry. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series and recommend this series to my friends.

You Can't Hurry Love by Lee Kilraine is the fifth book in the Cates Brothers Series. If you like contemporary romance with a few twists and turns then this book is for you. This is the fifth book in the Cates Brothers Series but you can read it as a standalone. I was hooked from the first page. You will find different themes throughout the story from family, friendship, heartache and romance. Lee Kilraine definitely pays attention to detail in You Can’t Hurry Love, from the flow of the story and her creative way with words.

You Can't Hurry Love tells the story of Paxton and Jolene. They have known each other since they were young and Paxton cut of part of her pigtail. So when Jolene did something out of the ordinary, she called Paxton to get her out of the situation. Paxton is going to use this to his advantage. Their chemistry is explosive, as well as their attraction to one another. Will they be able to pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend for six months? Trust Is going to play a major role for everything to work out.

I would highly recommend You Can't Hurry Love, and I am going to make sure to read the first four books in the series.

You Can't Hurry Love by Lee Kilraine is part of the Cates Brothers series but thankfully it can be read as a standalone since this is the first I have read. I don't know how I missed the others in the series but I will be going back to read the others. I loved the way the characters were written and developed. The love hate relationship between Paxton and Jolene which started in pre-school, but escalated in high school when they competed against one another was great and was able to visualize in my mind. Luckily it doesn't end with high school.

Jolene is everything I have never been in my life She is straight laced who follows all the rules and has been this way since childhood. That is until one night she goes to help out a student and everything changes. Paxton is back home after law school and working for a practice out of state. He is so glad to be home close to his parents and brothers, he has even managed to stay away from Jolene for the most part.

There were some laugh out loud moments and overall it is a great story. I loved their story and look forward to going back to read the others.

My only regret in reading "You Can't Hurry Love" by Lee Kilraine was that I didn't read the 4 books that came before. I will admit when I first started reading You Can't Hurry Love I had a hard time with Jolene, I have a hard time cheering for the Cheerleader, I am a total and complete sucker for the book nerd (I'm not sure why that is lol). As the story progressed suddenly I found I get her, I related to always doing something because you wanted to make people happy and not them down. I loved watching her change as she completed her bucket list and now I totally want to go die my hair some crazy colour.
I was super impressed with Pax and seeing as this was the first book in this series that I read I loved his family (I think his Dad was my favourite character). He was a strong support to Jo and when he figured everything out I was totally and completely smitten (you'll understand once you read it).
So my recommendation is to read the whole series first but DO NOT skip You Can't Hurry Love!

You Can't Hurry Love (A Cates Brothers Book) By Lee Kilraine
You Can't Hurry Love ( A Cates Brothers Book ) By Lee Kilraine is the first book I've read by this author and I will definitely be reading more. She now owes him,he's trying to further his career he needs to br in s committed relationship, this is where Jolene can help . the funny thing is these two don't get slong.Jolene has always been one to play by the rules, play it safe, she's at a point she doesn't want to be the safe girl anymore. I loved these two characters. She wants to step outside her playing it safe zone and he's focused on his career. The chemistry is off the charts between these.two..I will say I loved this whole book.im going to go back and read the other books in this series.I definitely recommend this book. You Can’t Hurry Love is the fifth installment in A Cate’s Brothers Series by Lee Kilraine. While this is the fifth book, it can be read as a stand alone and the story will be fine, but I am one who always says to read the series in order so all of the characters get their full spotlight. This installment focuses on Paxton and Jolene, two people who couldn’t be more opposite yet not one could be more perfect for either of these two. This story was such a page turner, that I ended up reading this in one sitting, foregoing sleep and activities to read this one. I actually bought all of the other books in this series just so I could reread all of the series for fun. Kilraine definitely has a new fan in me, I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. If you are looking for a great contemporary romance that while in a series can be read as a standalone than this is the book for you. But be prepared to fall into a book hole, as it is such a good read that putting it down is near impossible to do.

This was such a fun take on the frenemies to lovers plus pretend romance plot. Jolene Joyner is starting to transform herself from being Miss Prim and Proper Goody Two Shoes and Paxton Cates needs a pretend girlfriend in order to advance his career as a lawyer. Jo and Paxton have been at odds since he cut off one of her pigtails when they were five. They’ve argued ever since, but sometimes animosity can hide animal attraction.

Given how common both plotlines are, it’s a tribute to Lee Kilraine’s writing that this is such an enjoyable read. The dialogue is witty and the sex is hot. The side characters are likeable and even the bad guy isn’t all that bad. This is the fifth in her series about the five Cates brothers. I hadn’t read the first four books, but they’ll definitely be on my to-be-read list.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

You Can't Hurry Love by Lee Kilraine is a witty and fun read that is amusing and entertaining from start to finish.

Jolene is the quintessential good girl. Teacher, role model and all round nice person. That is until a snap decision lands her in a sticky situation and has her relying on the one person she doesn't want to be around.

Paxton has always been ambitious. He has worked hard all his life to get to where he is now. So when he gets a phone call from the last person he ever expects he sees it is as the perfect opportunity to use to his benefit.

With a lot of chemistry between them Jolene and Paxton embark on newly formed relationship that will test the limits thief tentative friendship.

This was a great read, fun, light hearted but with enough passion to give the book pace I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this. I'm happy to have found a new author I will be looking into more.

You Can't Hurry Love
A Cates Brother Book 5
by: Lee Kilraine
5 Stars

This was such a wonderful book that I enjoyed reading. This is my first book from this author and I am disappointed that I have not found her before now. I will definitely be reading the first four books. I love that the author writes about small towns in North Carolina since I live in this wonderful state.
The author really knows how to hold your attention and her detail in describing the events and the characters was awesome. The book had humor, chemistry and the banter between Paxton and Jo was hilarious. The author did a fantastic job with her characters and story line. Once I started the book I could not put it down till I was done. Her back characters made it a more interesting story line. She made it seem that living in a small town was a wonderful experience. The book was an emotional read and I would highly recommend it.
