Black (Book 1) I am loyal, but I will betray you. I am strong, but I have scars. I am an angel, but the devil. I met her when I was sixteen and she was a breath of fresh air. She swooped in, making me smile. But then she left, taking my next breath with her. Her smile could light up a room, making my black heart pitter patter. I found her again ten years later, with a syringe in her arm. Blood coming from between her legs. She was broken and I was glad she was broken. She wouldn't think less of me and my damaged ways.
Red (Book 2) A wound to the heart, a hole so deep. Can it be fixed? Or simply replaced? People lie. Those closest to me, tell the most lies. Do they not know who I am? What I’m capable of? Sometimes I wonder if they do. Because when I unravel their lies, they will be delivered to the hell I once visited. And it won’t be pleasant.
White (Book 3) Everything changes, in seconds, minutes, hours. I know, it happened to me. It wasn’t for the better, it was for the worst. I am broken, no that doesn’t sound right, I am chipped. Pieces of me have been chipped so bad that it’s impossible to claim them back. Even if I want to, even if its for her.

oh holy shit!!..wow oh wow...this series...gahh! You after a dark deadly hot as sin read... look no further...it has the right amount of suspense, a few..i didn't see that coming, and oh holy hot balls moments...this is the story of black, Rose and Jake...it gripped me from the start...I still can't put into words what I feel...all I can say is..you must read this series...its awesome...i give this series.5 amazingly hot as sin stars *****
And the I was thinking that BLACK was the man that took my heart TILL Jack came along and ran with it. Fuck this book actually has made me sit an write how I felt about it. FUCKING amazing loved the kink the dark side the characters all took a peace of my did come crying said some fuck you and it made me smile hard.
As a combination of the 3 books in the series, i found this trilogy pretty difficult to rate. I loved the first book, which ended in a huge cliff hanger and I couldn't wait to dive into the second. So lets get to the good points of this dark romance... Black ... Black is an Assassin, not just any Assassin, he's the best and always fulfills his mission. Left to guard Rose who has been kidnapped he finds himself with a new obsession and finding feelings for her. The chemistry between these two was off the charts!!! Love couldn't be avoided. With many plots and twists there was never a dull moment. This book is dangerously dark and twisted at times but yet you still hold out hope that this couple can make it, and find a normalcy ! Ending with a huge cliff hanger you have to dive right into the second book.... RED ... So we still have Black and Rose, still in love, but i felt that this book didn't overly progress us much with their relationship. There was a lot of back and forth, push and pull, which frustrated me and i felt it was too repetitive... with his thoughts always that he would never be good enough, i almost started to agree with him just hoping he would end this continuing Loves her, loves her not. I kept reading because i wanted to see if their happy ending would be the result, again their relationship, even though you know they love each other was still left with a cliff hanger making you wonder if they stay together or not. WHITE... Well i was so wrong, i thought this book would be the conclusion for Black and Rose, but i was wrong, this was actually Jakes book which i did enjoy and we got to know Blacks and Rose's outcome, but i have to be honest, i think Jake would have me much more deserving of winning Rose !!! I was a bit disappointed yet at the same time i think i preferred this book to more BACK N FORTH with Rose and Black !!!
All in all i quite enjoyed these books but i felt that the second book wasn't really necessary, it didn't conclude Rose and Blacks story and i felt left up high and dry with them, but i easily moved on to prefer Jake with White.
It was a good story. The characters were well developed and easy to fall in love with. The story constantly moved forward which I appreciated. So why four instead of five stars? Well, sometimes I felt the dialog didn’t really fit the characters. It’s hard to describe. They are all going through inner turmoil and development which can sound any way you like but when they got all mushy, the tough and tumble men especially,I kind of rolled my eyes. I dunno. Of course it’s what many women want to hear, but it kinda feels like it doesn’t fit them. I also feel like jakes story needs a bit more. You don’t just leave a motorcycle gang, you don’t abandon your family. It was all just too easy. Using the motorcycle gang as the frame work made quite a few parts of the story hard for me. Maybe they are different in Australia...but in America, loyalty is everything. Not just to your Pres but to the gang, the family. You don’t turn on your brothers. Descent in the ranks is handled but that gang seemed to turn on each other quite easily. It didn’t sit right with me. For these characters, their only true loyalty lies with these women. But despite that fact, the fact that they choose to lead lifestyles that puts these women in danger, they regularly leave them unprotected. They seem incapable of keeping them safe. Great story plot, I guess but I found it frustrating. You would at least think that if these ladies choose to be with these men they would also choose to arm themselves, protect themselves, be more vigilant instead of relying on damsel in distress mode. Eh, I’m pulling hairs. They really are good books and I enjoyed them. I would recommend them.
Black #1 First time reading T.L Smith and I was completely blown away with all of the emotions that were ripped from my soul!! This is definitely a one a kind second chance romance that totally caught me off guard. Everyone has demons they have to battle but, sometimes they don't have to battle them alone., Black and Rose met when they were 16 and she was the light in his dark world. Rose thought she was loved, until she was dealt the ultimate betrayal from someone that was supposed to protect her from things that go bump in the night. This book ripped my heart out and started to slowly stich it back together..............
Red#2 If I thought Black tore a hole in my heart....... Red stitched it little by little and then TOTALLY ripped it back open to stitch it back once again. There's only so much Black and Rose can go through before they explode and destroy EVERYTHING in their path. Some people say they are 2 too damaged people, but to each other they suture and complete one another!!! This whole series was an emotional roller coaster for me and I loved every minute of it... Bring on Jake!!!
White #3 Wow!!! Reading Jake's story was NOT what I was expecting. I could relate to Jake and the way he "deals" with what life has dealt him. Once again I hurt while reading this story!! T.L Smith has a way of sucking you in and keeping you on the edge of your seat till the very end!! I didn't want to see the end of this series and hope we can catch a glimpse of the characters again in the future!! Kudos!!!
I grew to love Liam Black. I certainly wasn’t sure about most of the characters in the beginning of this story, however, I do love it when an author can change my mind about someone and T.L. Smith hit the bullseye with Black.
This story intrigues me. I’ve no idea what will occur in the next book Red. I cannot wait to discover what is happening – especially after that ending! I do like Rose. She’s had some very tough times and I’ve loved witnessing her character development.
I am a huge fan of dark romance but some readers may need to take note of TWs.
Red - 3 stars
Red continues Liam and Rose's story from where Black left us, so please read the books in release order.
Overall, I liked Liam and Rose’s story. There were some scenes that I found a little confusing and I’m not certain if that is just me or if others feel the same way (I always write my own review before reading other reader’s opinions). The story didn’t always hold my attention which I was gutted about.
I'm undecided whether to read Jake's story in White. Maybe one day!
White - 3 stars
I nearly didn’t finish this book, but thankfully something changed which made me keep on reading and it has ended that I actually prefer Jake’s story to Black’s and Rose’s.
I felt this story was very slow to get going and then, once it grabbed my attention, I would have loved for it to have some depth. This is such a shame because the storyline had the potential for me to award a 5-star rating as I became invested in both Jake and Addy.
The Complete Series, Black, us made up of three thoroughly amazing Stories. Each holding your attention to the very end.
These books are not your average MC books. They tell of raw, horrible scenarios, not for the feint hearted. The characters are gritty and some are down right evil but such brilliant detail and character creation only adds to the depths of these stories.
TL Smith takes you on a very uncomfortable ride into the depths of human depravity, in order for you to fully appreciate her characters and their predicaments.
Black is the name of the protagonist, Liam Black. He's known by his clients as the dark, evil hitman, others pay to clean up their mess and to remove from the face of the earth, those that cross them.
Black's character is beautifully complimented by the lightness of his woman Rose, who has spent a lifetime, trying to reconnect with the young man who captured her heart when she was just 16 and very lost.
The supporting characters are brutal but then there is Jake. Book #3 - White is based on his story but is directly connected to the previous books. Jake and Addy are a great coupling of characters and within the scheme of the series, they add a little more humour, with Addy's sass and Jakes smart ass mouth. Just perfect together.
I thoroughly enjoyed these three books she would recommend them to those readers who are after a grittier, harsh reality to their romance.
This is an absolutely consuming series! I loved every minute of I spent reading these books. And every word captured and reeled me in! It’s emotional and gripping. Intense and raw. Ms. Smith delivers a set outstanding stories. That had me on edge and my heart pounding so hard. The characters are stunning and the plot brilliant. The writing had me captivated. I loved how she developed her characters and had me invested in them. The trilogy revolves around Liam,Rose and Jake. Liam is a ruthless tortured man. He’s dark and gritty. Black’s darkness is countered with Rose’s bright light. Their energy and their lives had me so invested in them. Red The anguish and twists and turns continues in this book. Once again Black and Rose go through hell. A roller coaster of an emotional ride. Theirs is a relationship filled with trials and tribulations. But they come out the stronger for it.
White This is Jakes story. Again an emotional one. He’s been through it all. Heartbreak, pain, torture just to name a few. Jake saw himself as a broken man. I found him strong and determined. But with everything he’s been through you get a front row seat of why he is the way he is. Addy is the breath of fresh air in Jake’s world. Even with her own darkness and pain. These two are the perfect fit for each other. With all their despair and heartache any each other’s touch will do. These are two broken people. But they are what each other needs to glue their pieces back together again.
I have heard some great things about T.L.'s Black Series and when a fellow Instagram author mentioned it was 99 cents?? Who could pass that up? Not this woman. And on top of that, you have Franggy on two covers and Nick on the other. Seriously?? My mind went there. It really did.
I am a big fan of dark, over the top reads. These books did not disappoint. From the very beginning I was hooked, unable to put the books down (until I had to leave for work, that is). When I rushed home, I dove right back in, locking myself in my bedroom so I could finish. These books were amazing.
T.L. is an amazing writer. I loved her short, to-the-point-expressions she wove throughout all three books. It allowed you as a reader to relate to her well developed characters. The high emotions, and heinous actions of the lead characters, and the twists and turns, had me tossing my phone and kindle numerous times.
These were my first reads from T.L. and I loved them. I highly recommend this author if you love dark and twisted reads with intense love and emotion, and HOT AS F>CK possessive men.
Thank you, T.L. for the wonderful stories and for giving us Black and Jake!!!! ♥
I was totally captivated by the first two books in the series as the author portrayed two main but damaged characters who despite their desperate upbrining and battles with their own early low are still able to discover that despite this they are able to discover love and care for each other no matter their past, present or possible futures. These two books were so gripping and well written that I could hardly stop reading them, so well were the characters and storyline developed. Imagine my disappointment when I started reading Book three i 21kg to find the storyline and characters struggled to hold my attention at all. The previous characters and storyline hinted at a desperation to complete the series in a hurry rather than keep the suspense and storyline progression continuing. The last book failed in any way to capture the reader with disjointed writing style and lack of inspiration in developing the same levels found in the previous two books. Such a pity! Had the third book matched the previous two, I was expecting to leave a 5 star review but ultimately felt completely let down by the author. A pity that!
I enjoyed this series. T.L. Smith delivered a great trilogy that circulated around the lives of Liam (Black), Rose, and Jake. Each book gave us a great story in itself and when combined, brought everything together.
Black is such a ruthless and tortured character. However, Rose is his light in the all of his darkness. Despite his faults, Rose cannot help herself from loving the flawed man. The trials and tribulations that these two go through only strengthens their bond.
Black, Red, and White proves that family isn't just about blood. It is more than that. There are some really great scenes that show loyalty and love and the great bond between friends and lovers. Love can overcome just about anything and forgiveness is a very powerful thing.
I really enjoyed each and every character in these books, whether they were good or bad, they all played an integral part in the story line. Drama, betrayal, love, hopelessness, mystery, and revenge all makes for a great book. We have it all in this trilogy.
I’ve loved this trilogy. It’s not sweet by any means, it will make you cry, it’s raw and violent. It’s the world they live in.
Left in Robbie’s clutches, Jake was tortured, leaving him unable to return to his life and function.
Addy, a bar tender, watches Jake slowly drink himself into oblivion day by day. She has her own demons and twisted story, not needing to add to them.
The book starts months after Jake is freed. It doesn’t throw you back into that last scene in book two. Their story slowly unfurls, showing us Black’s best friend and brother through his tale. The good and bad, it’s not for everyone.
I was gifted this box set This series is Dark very dark. The first 2 books focus on Black (Liam) who is from reading this maybe within the autism spectrum or has a personality disorder he has had a hard life and his behaviour and demeanour evidence this. Black is a hitman exteemly good at his job and everyone wants a piece of him. He has 1 friend Jake, he gets book 3 book 3 is on the whole less involved and lighter than the first two dont get me wrong its still not an easy read or a light read. I happen to like dark reads this book had me in tears in parts, calling people names and l laughed in parts so for me it was great
Black. I wasn’t quite sure what I was in for with this but it was really good. The angst and suspense were built really well. Even while sometimes the wording was kind of staccato, it works for this author.
Red. I was unsure how this would pan out after the ending to Black, but again T.L. Smith has rebuilt the love, rebuilt the angst and given us the revenge we needed.
White. This is the story of Black’s best friend Jake and how he conquers his demons and finds love. It’s not as angsty and dramatic as Black’s books but I still enjoyed it. I liked Addy too but she had too many secrets and didn’t know who to really trust.
This has been the freshest material I have read in a while!! Yes, it has the main components of a "typical romance", but wow! So many things that I never expected to happen blew my mind!! I hope there will be more to this series. I think all of the characters deserve at least one more grand finale!! I'd like to get a more in-depth background of Sax and Casey. The first book tells a lot but not enough for me. Plus, I'd like more of Black and Rose and Jake and Addy. Please write more for this TL!!!
This is a dark, absorbing trilogy which draws you in from the very start. It probes the deepest, darkest facets of human behaviour, but offers glimmers of salvation in the hands of characters that see beyond the obvious flaws of others. Ultimately it shows that anything can be overcome, and for everyone, there is someone. I loved it and didn't want it to be over.
Thank you for this roller coaster ride! I laughed and cried for mad and happy while reading these tragic love stories. Black had me captivated and I had no plans to read the rest, because this author was new to me, but in drop glad I did. The twists and turns kept me Liam and Rose have a love like no other and is recommend this offering to anyone whose loved (or ever wanted to) beyond what they thought imaginable.
The Black series is hard to read. It occupies a dark corner of my mind. So much anguish, love, dirty sex, devotion and self-hate thrives within these pages. Murder and assassination are constant companions, as well. The lives of Rose, Liam Black, Jake and Addy probably parallel more real people than we realize, but having their truth banging inside your head isn't for the faint-of-heart. Beware the jagged edges.
I loved Black so much, I had to read both Red and White. I was not disappointed. Red concluded Black's story, and White was Jake's. All three were amazing, incredibly emotional reads. I would love to see T.L Smith write one more book, encompassing our two favorite couples, a few years later.
i actually started a series at the right end. I have a habit of not doing that. The character Black reminds me in some of his thoughts of my nephew who only thinks in black and white. No grey. I loved how he graduated from being a stone cold killer to having feelings. Also I got the dry humor between Black and Jake. The tissues came out at the end of Black. Well worth reading.
This is a ride. You will laugh, cry, get mad, and be happy in the end. It is emotional and gritty to the end. These characters go through so much. You will get attached.
Well written and very addictive. The more you read by TL Smith the more you want to....you'll just have to see what happens next. This is a very unique love story. You want to hate and love these characters at the same time.
I freaking loved every dark and dangerous part of this. Holy hell was it twisted love or was it twister horror, U will read to find out. Jack is fabulously dark and I fell in love with him in Blacks story. Thank you for a dark and dangerous story.
First, thank you T.L. Smith for the box set😁 . I really enjoyed this series but I have to say I liked Jake and Addy's story the best. Maybe because my imagination had to work a little harder to see what was happening since they weren't so detailed. Definitely will read T.L. Smith again.
These books are raw. It makes you feel many emotions all at once. The characters are real and you feel right along with them. I enjoyed reading this series very much.
I did enjoy the story line, for me, in some places though it seemed hurried. There is brutality, darkness and yeah.. rough hot sex. The characters were fascinating in their own right.. I'm glad I read the whole series.
I bought this book bundle on sale. I was my first time reading anything by this author. I see she has plenty of books and is a popular author, but I must say I was not a fan of her writing Style. I'm sure other may enjoy this series I just found it OK.
