Phenomenal book! It discusses the developmentally appropriate approach to early childhood milestones, with a relaxed approach. There's a wonderful mix of scientific data, breaking down each point, and photographs to reinforce the discussions.

Throughout the book, it is emphasized that baby will reach it's proper milestone intrinsically. This book calms each parents' mind about our current cultures idea of the baby-race: to hit milestones sooner and have advanced children.

It's a super quick read!

I do feel as if there's too much of an emphasis on how crucial it is that each stage is met during this small development window. I read the book as if certain steps weren't met, then the baby wouldn't develop properly over time, or skipped steps were the cause of issues later in life. I don't think that's fair to the overall picture of how the child is raised, the expectations being placed, the child's health, etc.

I wish this book was handed out to each first time parent before they left the hospital.

BEST parenting book ever. A must read to understand your baby's development and how the bottom up approach (body movement leads to brain development; strong emphasis on neuroscience) is the way to go. Ways to encourage your baby in the first 12 months. A strong emphasis on interpersonal interaction. No devices. No stimuli. Just be natural in your movements and get outside. Basically let your baby roll, creep, and crawl naturally to allow the brain hemispheres to fuse together!

A must-read for all parents, a scientifically sound but scientific jargonless quick read that outlines the developmental stages, their benefits, and how to help your baby move through them slowly and intentionally, as nature intended. Johnson's tone is informative but validating as well, which feels like the exact type of tone a new parent needs when faced with this information. Highly recommend!

I've given out Baby Bare to three new parents and months later they still comment how useful it is as they watch their child's development. It's always on their coffee tables, for good reason! Now I need to order two more copies.

Super helpful for understanding the importance of floor time for babies and letting them develop at their own pace!

Every early childhood development educator should read this book and I would even go so far to say that every mommy needs this book as well!
