The book is BONKERS. Tynan is a 30 year old virgin who was raised in a monastery-like all-male enclave dedicated to studying the pre-21st Century world (we think it means he missed a few classes on toxic masculinity). He wears an aubergine-colored monk's robe almost all of the time. And he's a pacifist philosopher.
Amara is an accomplished spaceship pilot with a full-body tattoo (NOT PICTURED ON THE COVER WTF?) and a healthy appreciation for Tynan's body. She's sent to pick him up from earth. Now keep in mind that Tynan's never seen a real woman before (he's been watching tons of 20th Century films, though, so he "knows what women are like"). But obviously he falls hard for Amara.
In perhaps the best twist of the book, the ultimate villain is Amara's ex-lover/boss AND Tynan's childhood bully who's kept a grudge for over 20 years.
Despite all the ridiculous fun, we can't recommend the book purely for what happens in Chapter 10. If you don't want to roll over for the spoiler, let's just say: CW: attempted rape, violence.

Amazing book I loved the characters and I loved the relationship between tynan and Ameera. One of the bad guys name made me laugh “toes”
