Read this for Regan Walker’s monthly theme/blog, July is American patriotic month. This book involves the American Revolution, mostly towards the end, which uses the battle of Cowpens in SC. Other than that not too much history going on. For the most part this was an OK book it was on the simpler side and the writing was OK, but for me it definitely was not a page turner. I kinda had to push myself through it. The characters, again OK, things are done with not much umph. The heroine’s actions at times bugged me. One example, once their very involved she’s calling the man she loves a traitor over something she saw (he doesn’t even seem to be upset about it) and it doesn’t cause any issues between them hero just shakes his head exasperated. He would’ve been turned over and probably executed if he was…but she put country first and turns on him and says well guess I should’ve trusted you. Boom 4 pgs it was done. So some of the things that happened just seemed rushed to add drama especially at the end. Sad to say I don’t think I’ll go on to book 2 or 3.

MFC was super annoying and immature, but I guess since she was 17, that tracks. I would collect the others in the series for the cover art, only, but I am not hot on reading them
