Bright colors in the illustrations and simple, inviting text that encourage reader involvement through the use of "Let's," this board book takes readers around a farm on five various useful machines such as a tractor and a four-wheel drive. Readers need to lift the flap on the right hand side in order to see what sort of work the vehicles are doing. Some of their purposes will make readers smile. Part of the Wheels at Work series, this title encourages young readers to look at the first two pages and predict what will come next and how the vehicle is being used. They might also enjoy simply being able to recognize certain objects with which they are familiar from their own neighborhoods or dwelling places.

This is a simple board book with flaps that introduces young children to five different farm vehicles, that won me over with its inclusivity. There is a brown girl on the front cover and first spread, and the other four pages show people of different skin tones and ages, with the inclusion of hearing aids, glasses and what appears to be a facial birthmark. I very much appreciate the thought and care put into this little book!

L picked out this book for herself at the library, but she's 4 years old and this book is really more appropriate for 9-month-old F. That said, L did like reading it. The text is very simple and each page has a full-page flap that lifts up to complete the picture and the sentence. It features a variety of farm vehicles carting animals around. Cute, colorful, sturdy, very nice for what it is.
