Officially giving this a DNF, after struggling off and on with it for the past month. It’s set in the future but the language is Victorian, which I found jarring. The protagonist was irritating, idealistic, and rambling, and his musings on music, art, and creativity were probably insightful but so difficult to follow that I’m sure I often missed the point.
