First I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for this arc in return for my honest review.
Infound this very inspirational and had me wanting to try these projects and processes. Very inspiring and easy to follow. I will be purchasing this for my library.
You would have to be an absolute beginner to any form of art to get the most out of this book, the final section with the projects is interesting and informative though and justifies the lower kindle price tag. I would have been disappointed if I’d paid the full price for a physical copy.
Inspirational and practical, this book has some great examples and instructions for non-traditional, outside the box styles of quilting including reverse applique, collage, painted fabric, beaded collage quilts and making paper fabric. Chapters are written by different 'experts' on the particular style of quilting. This is one of the few books that include a chapter on making a statement through the quilt. Instructions, techniques to try and patterns included when appropriate. I'll be going back to this book frequently.
Nice overview of the various types of quilting arts. Many basic and intermediate tips and methods are covered. Apparently it is a compilation of articles from the Quilting Arts magazine & many subscribers didn't realize this & purchased the book only to find they'd seen it all before. If you've read the magazine you may find some repeats but if not, it's a nice resource book.
Incredible ideas. I loved the quote, "we consider researching and developing our ideas as a journey discovery and we don't worry too much about the outcome."
