It must be an interesting challenge to write stories that are centered around constant physical conflict that aren't really allowed to feature death. There's a glazed-eye state that settles in at some point. I think other comics in this series have done more to disguise the artifice of it by focusing on a variety of plots and character aims, but this iteration of the comic doesn't have a lot of room for plots outside of the central, global, life-and-death struggle that the story revolves around. It's almost a meditative exercise in its own futility. But then again, it's kind of exactly what you should expect of it.

Gill uses Alex body. Beats up everyone except for shin ryu. Ryu send gill to hell using secret technique. Shin ryu beats oni akuma ass. Leads into dark stalkers story. Ends with secret society still having some gill material back and nash alive
