A small-town girl, a football star and a dirty little marriage...
Chase
Football’s biggest bad-boy. That’s what they called me. And I was more than willing to live up to the name. But when my wild ways threatened the thing I loved most – football – my agent convinced me there was only one way to save my football get married. To a girl more virtuous than Mother Teresa. Where in the world would I find a chick like that?
Aubrey
How did a small-town girl like me get caught up in a fake marriage to a football star?
Marrying for money? Stupid. Marrying an absolute ‘manwhore’ who spent all his considerable charm and energy trying to get into my pants, despite our ‘no sex’ marriage contract? Reckless. Falling in love with such bad boy? Complete insanity.
This book was a great read! Wish it had been longer. I’m pretty disappointed though to discover that the second book about Luke was promised the Spring of 2017 and as of today’s date; 8/9/18 the second book has still not been published?!?! The two sneak peek chapters at the end of this book are a major tease and not being able to download and read after over a year of projected release is disappointing. This book is a fun read and isn’t a cliffhanger ending but not being able to continue the series means read at your own risk!
Aubrey and chase...pre-arranged deal...accidentally falling in love...yep I liked it. Well written. Sweet and sassy. I'm looking forward to reading Luke's story next. Curious to see how the ex-military injured stud handles the wealthy daughter. Actually since they are all handsome studs with distinct characters traits I am looking forward to reading all the brothers stories. Yes fake marriage to the football player was that fun.
It had all the elements and factors I mostly look for in a book that I place on my priority of ‘to read’, but this one just fell a little short of what I was expecting. It is really good, just that it seemed to be similar to several other stories out there.
Chase was really an ass most of the time. The only redeeming quality for Chase was the little romantic side you will read about in the book, but that’s all.
Aubrey is our typical heroine and also a bit stubborn. And both characters’ pride was in the way.
What I loved about the book was the family and friends of the couple. They were really a great bunch and added more color to the book.
Even though I was let down by this one a bit, I look forward to the other brothers’ story. I can’t wait for the next book.
If you want to read a quick, sports romance with steamy scenes, read this book.
4 stars
Once a whore always a whore. The moment his wife is not with him or the fight we will be smacking girls butts and flirting and making out. He is just a disgusting pig.
first time.reading anything by this author. It's a cute story about two people that go into a fake marriage. Chase to save his football career and Aubrey to get money to open a shelter for stray dogs. even.though it's fake, their true feelings for each other grow but.both don't want to get hurt so they ignore them and deny them and bury them. but when their sham of a marriage comes to light it also makes them have to face and admit their feelings.
From the synopsis, I thought "Hey, I've read this before." I was mistaken. True the whole fake marriage, real love, has been done before. But this was just different enough to make it worth reading. Aubrey and Chase bring out the best and love in each other. You will enjoy their journey of discovery. I am looking forward to the rest of the Wilders' story. Mary and Mr. Kinkaid?
At first it seemed like yet another version of a story we already have read countless times. Except that Chase is an even greater slut/manwhore than usually seen.
Throughout most of the book I expected my rating to be between 1 and 2 stars, but the last third of the book was surprisingly good. Actually, it made me reevaluate both my rating and my impression of Chase.
I really enjoyed reading this. This is my first book from this author and thought she did very well! It had very light sport reference but loved the storyline. The characters Chase and Aubrey had great connection and passion. Can't wait to read Luke's story next!
There wasn't anything really special about this book. It had the potential to be really interesting, but Aubrey was such a pushover and a weak h that the book fell flat.
I was hoping for a h that had a backbone, maybe some wit, and some who was strong, but she caved on everything. Chase slapped some girls butts at a club and she ran to the bathroom only to end up making out with him without every yelling at him or making him apologize. He flirted with an ex at their engagement party and she left to sleep with him immediately after. He ignored her during their first engagement party and she slept with him then, too. It just annoyed me.
Chase was barely any better. He needed this to work, but yet he didn't take it seriously (see aforementioned issues). He kept mentioning the money situation, but then he would encourage her to spend money constantly. I'm still not sure if she keep the 100k or not.
It just didn't work out for me. Towards the end it got better, but not by much. It was pretty predictable. Overall, it falls under the "I don't recommend, but don't not recommend" category for me. It's an easy beach read so give it a whirl if you want.
