A collection of essays. Some really good ( like one by DD Kosambi) , and some not at all close to such. Kumkum Roy, the editor, has collected a mixed bunch varying from really good to mediocre. That said, even mediocrity is welcome today in Indian intellectual sphere as most are eager to write and innocent of ‘how to’ :)
