Worlds away from Zenith, a new apocalypse is about to begin.
Still haunted by the events that took place during his escape from Zenith, Ezra Blanchard and a small team of Creux pilots begin the dangerous road to the lost city of Kerek. It is in those ruins where they might find the pieces that will complete the Armor of God, humanity’s only chance to avoid extinction.
Ezra has mastered the Minotaur, but that wasn't the end of his troubles; he and the others will discover that the threat created by the laani doesn’t only exist on the outside, but also within them, and that not everything is as it seems. On their last-ditch effort to stop a destructive god, shocking truths will be revealed, some of which will change them forever.
The creatures spawned by the monstrous divinity Lys have begun their final march, and time is running out. Not everyone will survive “The Unfinished World”, the epic sequel to “The Armor of God”.
My name is Diego Valenzuela, author of The Armor of God trilogy, published by Penguin Random House in Spanish, screenwriter for animation and a voice actor with experience in film, TV, videogames and more.
I was born on February 1986 in Mexico City, where I’ve lived most of my life. I started writing fiction at the age of 12, when I spent a year in Dublin, Ireland. During long hours of study hall and inspired by dreams and the Irish landscape, I decided to spend my time reading and, eventually, writing. It has been a passion ever since.
My first novel, The Armor of God, was first published in English, chapter by chapter, through a blog, where it began to gather a small following. The finished novel was published in October 2014 through Amazon’s CreateSpace. The Unfinished World, the direct sequel and middle chapter of the trilogy, was published in December 2015 to rave reviews from best-selling authors such as Piers Anthony and María Amparo Escandón. Finally, in 2019, The Riven God closed the trilogy. The original book has now been published in Spanish under the title La Armadura de Dios thanks to Penguin Random House. In the space between books two and three of the trilogy, I also published Reverie of Gods, an epic stand-alone sci-fi adventure.
In 2016 I joined the team behind Villianous, an original series by Cartoon Network, as a screenwriter and eventually Story Editor. This began my career in the animation industry and, eventually, voice acting. I also work as a screenwriter and Story Editor in the animated series Rey Mysterio from the Viva Calavera creative team, as well as Mako Animation Studio’s upcoming projects. Additionally, I have credits in TV productions, commercial and more.
As of late 2021, I joined the creative team for the upcoming RTS IMMORTAL: Gates of Pyre as a writer/narrative designer and voice artist.
As a voice actor, I have had the privilege of working on dozens of projects such as Villainous, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Toontorial, DOOM: Eternal, Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War and many more. I’ve had the enormous pleasure of voicing fan-favorite characters such as Razor Fist in Marvel’s Shang Chi & the Legend of the Ten Rings, Moon Knight in Marvel’s Spiderman: Maximum Venom and Soundwave in Bumblebee.
I was also the vocalist and lyricist for the progressive metal band Watercolor Butterfly, which was awarded for its debut album, The God Particle. In my spare time, I enjoy working on a series of video tutorials on YouTube called El Laberinto, con Kai y Jim, where I give voice to two characters who seek to share knowledge and teach young writers on the writer’s craft. I also enjoy digital illustration and bodybuilding.
The Unfinished World is an amazing sequel for the first book of this trilogy "The Armor of God". From the moment I started reading I had a hard time putting it down. The story becomes even more complex, with surprising twists that only leave you wanting more. The Unfinished World leaves you with great expectations for the third and last book, and I can't wait to see what Valenzuela has in stock for us... But if there is one thing I can be sure about is that we will not see it coming.
I would really recommend this book to anyone who likes a good Sci-fi story with compelling, relatable characters; and a great storyline always full of surprises.
ok..where to start from? I really liked the prequel to this book, it was a very good YA fiction, sure to keep you reading until you finished it, but THIS! I really didn't expect for the book to have such a dark plot twist, and you know what? I enjoyed every single bit of it. The characters' development is really good, they definitely grow and learn from each situation and you get to like them even more, until...
so— how do you explain or review this sequel? from the very beginning of the books I was REALLY into it, chills, constant moments where you had to close the book and think about what's happening and the end of the book, THE DAMN CLIFFHANGER dunno how is this trilogy gonna end, but as far as I know, the final book's gonna be EPIC
An amazing second part to the “Armor of God” trilogy! It is more fast paced, dark themed, intense action-packed, and keeps you invested up until you reach the end! There are a lot of questions left unanswered, but hopefully everything will be revealed in “The Riven God.”
Spoiler Free : Okay then. Book #2 done in two days. That should already tell you how awesome it is. To me, this one is better written and much better paced than Book #1. One of the best things for me is that the book ends without the reader truly having a certain ending in mind. There's plenty questions left unanswered even though quite a few were answered.
This is a must read if you've read The Armor of God. Now the wait for The Riven God.
First if all, this book is an amazing sequel to to the already excellent The Armor is God. It is fast paced and fun as a YA book can be.
But...
If this story does not end well I will have to have a word with the author.
It is too evil to build such wonderful and likable characters and then throw them around and make them suffer like the one and only Precious while I sit on my bed wondering what will happen next.
I loved this book it kept me at the edge of my sit all the time. I also hated this book because it kept me at the edge of my sit all the time. Now all I can do is sit tight and wait for 2017, and hope the author gets over his sadistic psychopath phase.
If you have not read this book or the first one, do yourself a favor and start reading it!!
A great continuation of the "Armor of God" series, "An Unfinished World" takes the world established in the first book and adds more evil than thought possible. The book is very dark and very little hope likes to make its way into the story. With that said, the characters are so dimensional that it's really easy to connect with them and that, with the massive number of times that they're in peril within these pages, makes the book as tense as can be. On the back cover it even states 'Everybody Dies' and, as a reader, that's what I expected throughout the story. No one was safe and that made for a riveting ride. I can't wait to see where things end up in the third and final book in the series, "The God That Failed."
This is probably the best of the trilogy. It is fast-paced and throws in unexpected plot twists. The world has far more evil in it than we realized. But, the characters are well developed and not mere cartoons. It is too bad that the third book doesn’t live up to this or the first.
