Are they strong enough to be her men?

Cunning. Everyone uses the word to describe Katy. In Quarterz, the virtual reality world where men and women compete as hunter or prey, Katy has never been captured. At least, not until the bear clan arrived in the game. Powerful, smart, and straight out of her fantasies, Katy can't always outmaneuver the tests they create.

When the clan challenges her to take their team on in a real game of hunters and prey, she can’t resist the lure.

Is she strong enough to be their woman?

Grizz, Oso, and Kodie are Pantherian bear shifters, born into a culture where men have learned to share and protect their species’ most limited resource—females. They’ve accepted they will never have a Pantherian female as their shared mate. But can a human female handle a Pantherian, mating trio. If so, will she still want them when she knows what they are?

Are any of them strong enough to outsmart fate?

When the game puts hearts and lives on the line, taking a loss is the only way to win.

eARC for The Grizzly's Tale by Nara Malone was kindly provided to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn't expecting much from 80 odd pages but it did surprise me. The world seemed interesting & the story entertaining. I may be interested in following if this is a series.
Did have some minor but noticeably frequent editing issues.

*I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinion stated are solely my own and no one else's*

The Grizzly's Tale was hot, sexy, and damn steamy.

In the virtual world, Katy never got caught but that changes when three bears join the game. They challenge her on every level but they want more than she can give.

The shifter brothers know they are running out of time and lure Katy for one real game of hunters and prey: the trio against her.

Is Katie strong enough to mate with three grizzly bear shifters?

This was a good read and I enjoyed it. The guys were super hot and intense. In the real game, each bear gives her a gift: Grizz's belly chain hugging her waist, Kodie's nipple chain are his teeth at her nipples and Oso's chain thong which is supposed to be his tongue licking her - I don't think it could have got any more sexier.

This was much more interesting than I thought originally. It does start off a little technical and I couldn't see where it was going, but as the story developed I enjoyed it. There are still many unanswered questions, but it is not a cliff hanger. I wanted more depth, but it was enough to drag me in.

Interesting, spicy read. Katya plays an online hunt/prey game and has hot virtual sex with some of the other players. They request a face to face meeting before a real hunting game. Katya has other issues but decides to meet them. As she wins the tasks, she finds that she loves these men. Kodie, Grizz, and Oso already love her from their online conversations and game play. Surprises on all sides, secrets revealed, and fears confronted make this story move along after a slow start.

I received a copy of this story as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book - there seemed to be a lot going on - shifters, genetic alterations, a virtual world, yes we got some history to set it up - but at first there was a lot to digest. The overall story was well written and enjoyable. The characters had depth and the chemistry between them was amazing. It was a great story with just enough supernatural elements and enough hot steamy scenes. Glad that there will be a second book or more to continue on and further set up this series.

This was a hot, sexy, and damn steamy read - with some sciency/history elements to bring out the shifter/supernatural elements. I recommend you give it a try - you just might find a new author - I did.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader's copy of this book.

I received a free advance reader copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review it

It took me a while to get into the book, but I am so glad I persevered, it was different to any other Si have read, it contains shifters but that was not the main aspect of the book.

It was exciting, well written and the characters were amazing. It is a sexy read, with hot hot hot scenes, and I am excited to read the next book in the series

**I received this book free from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.**

Disclaimer: This book includes graphic sex scenes and minor BDSM practices. If that bothers you I would skip reading my review along with the book.

“’What do you long for, Katy?’ The thought was there. Something real. She could never say it. Could never have it.”

The Grizzly’s Tale has a lot going on, there’s a virtual world, shapeshifters, weird genetic alterations, creepy maybe someone is a serial killer stalkers and dragon Bermuda triangles. But it’s awesome! It has so much depth. I really enjoyed it. In fact I kinda wish there was more to read. Which is okay because there is going to be a second book in the series!

Katy has met three men through a virtual reality game called Quarterz. Quarterz is all about being either hunter or prey. Katy is the prey and Grizz, Oso and Kodie are the hunters. In Quarterz you can do anything, be anything, including bear shifters. But Grizz, Oso and Kodie actually ARE bear shifters in reality. And they have found their mate: Katy. They just have to convince Katy to meat IRL (in real life).

But Katy has her own secret, she’s genetically modified. Which is why she has a secret identity and the only way she can get close to people is through Quarterz. But she’s about to leave for Antarctica and she will sure miss her bears. Which is what finally convinces her to meet up with them.

“How do you explain to your lovers that orgasms make you disappear?”

Most people who read the description of this book will think it’s just about sexy times and a ménage relationship, but a large portion of this book is about the science. And the paranormal elements. It’s an interesting combination and it’s very detailed. There are a couple times the science takes over and it gets a little dense but I think it’s a great premise and very interesting.

Katy has been genetically modified, along with her sister and many of their pets. So they have to hide their true identities in case anyone comes looking for them. It seems there are a couple things that affect how Katy and her sister respond to different situations but the biggest consequence of their modifications is when excited they vanish/disappear for a couple minutes. And yes, by excited that means when Katy orgasms, she disappears. Katy avoids that problem by immersing herself in online relationship through Quarterz where no one can witness her disappearing.

The Grizzly’s Tale had just enough plot and mystery to keep me engaged throughout the whole novel and I’m intrigued enough to read the second book in the series. Katy was a great main character the only place this book was lacking was in the depth to the three main men. The potential was there, they each had distinct personalities, but there just wasn’t enough time to get to know them incredibly well. Because this book takes place AFTER Katy has met them in the virtual reality, you don’t get to know them at the same level as Katy does. So if there was anything lacking in this book that would be it. I wish we got to see more of how Katy met the bears and built those relationships.

The Grizzly’s Tale comes out January 13th if you’re interested in purchasing it, I recommend giving it a chance.

Please let me know if anyone has any questions or thoughts, I would love to hear what you think.

This is the first book Nara I have read. I enjoyed it. This book is slightly futuristic with all the virtual reality. I do enjoy shifter books and books on the naughtier side. This book is a quick read or at least it was for me. Katy is an interesting character. She tries to live under the radar and feels most alive when in the game. The Grizzlys are the only ones who have ever captured Katy in game and they just may capture her in real life as well. The guys are bear shifters who come from a different place. They never thought they would find one woman for all three of them but that is exactly who Katy is. Now they just have to convince her to be with all three of them. They may even have to turn their back on their bears to be with her. Cause who would agree to be with three let alone three men who turn into bears? This book takes you on an interesting journey. It is steamy and then some. I would like to read more about these characters and even about Katy's sister. I look forward to reading more books by Nara in the future.

Nara Malone’s The Grizzly’s Tale captured my imagination with its unique spin on shifter mythology. In this tale, Pantherians are beings with the dual nature of man and beast, who also happen to be the true ancestors of man and animals alike. Katya aka KatyDid plays in a virtual reality world called Quaterz. In Qualterz she can explore her every fantasy with bear shifter trio Grizz, Oso and Kodie. It’s the only way she can have fun because orgasm literary makes her disappear. Grizz, Oso and Kodie are determined to expose her jealously guarded real world identity and claim her for their own.
I loved how Nara Malone expressed Katya’s struggle with her real life and virtual life. It portrays how easy it is for fantasy to take the place of reality especially when the real world is full of complicated challenges. Seeing the character grow, overcome her fear and finally mesh her two lives together to make one whole was wonderful.

This is the first book of this authors that I've read. It starts a bit slow and gives the vibe that it's part of a series and not the first book. Keep reading because it does evolve into a cute story. This book had a huge potential to be a longer book lending itself to greater storyline and character development.

The Grizzly's Tale by Nara Malone is a wicked hot shifter menage with a bit of BDSM tossed into the story for extra flava :p This was the first time reading this author’s work and I wasn’t disappointed.

The Grizzly’s Tale has a lot going on within its pages, however Ms. Malone has done a nice job of tying it altogether with her unique storyline, wonderful characters, and defined world. A few minor editing errors within but nothing that would detract a reader from the story. A must-read for those who enjoy this kind of story.

Please note that an ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

The Grizzly's Tale
By Nara Malone

Life in the real world is hard, and so are the secrets that we all carry. Life in a virtual reality world is an escape. An escape from everything we run from. It's a place where we can truly be who we want to be, without consequences. But what happens when those two worlds collide?

"When the game puts hearts and lives on the line, taking a loss is the only way to win."

Katy's has a secret. She was born into a family that created hybrid creatures in a different realm. When her family ran and started a life with the humans, Katya had her parents taken from her and was left raising her sister and keeping her family's past a secret.
Meeting Katya online in a virtual world, Oso, Grizz and Kodie are immediately drawn to her. Having a secret of their own, these men are shape shifters, something they've decided to give up for Katya. When virtual become true reality, Katya has to face many truths, and has to decide if the three men will be in her real life, or just in her virtual fantasies.

"While she had never created anything remotely resembling the beast Grizz turned into, she’d created hybrids. She’d worked on the hybrid research. She was the daughter of monsters and that came with a price."

I am not a techie person, so this concept was very new to me. But once I started reading The Grizzly's Tale, I was hooked. I couldn't put it down. Nara made sense of the virtual world, and made it hot!! I could not get enough of Oso, Grizz and Kodie. And Katya is such a strong female MC, making The Grizzly's Tale a must read!!

"She had no words to tell him what he did to her. No thoughts to paint a canvas for his pleasure. Nothing left to give but her body responding to the reality he conjured."

Katya “KatyDid” can travel between worlds. Grizzly “Grizz” has a special place in his heart for Katy. He feels that he wants something that he can’t have. They both have interesting family backgrounds and you will have to watch and see if that plays out in their story here. Grizz has two brothers, Kodie and Oso, who also like Katy. It’s interesting to watch how they end up getting what they want.

This may be a short story but there is a lot going on between the pages. Each scene moves seamlessly from one to the next. And none of the scenes seems to go on too long. It was interesting to watch how their relationships develop and how the world of virtual reality comes into play. This will have you wondering if what takes place here will happen sometime in the future.

In this story, I seemed to connect more with Katy then with the three men. Her character just seems to stand out more and that surprised me since the three men are supposed to be imposing shifters. It may not happen in my future but can you imagine if you could actually see this book unfold in virtual reality? That would add that little bit extra that I was looking for. Yes they had sex with multiple partners, it was graphic with some BDSM tied in, but I just wanted something to get me more interested in Grizz, Kodie, and Oso. In order to get a feel for the series, I probably will go back and read the first two books and then watch out for book four. I didn’t feel as if the other books tied into this one but I wanted a better understanding of what the Pantherian world is about.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

KatyDid was not having a good day. The dark shadow on the branch above her actually was a panther about to launch itself at her. When a raven’s warning call distracted the beast, she dove into the bayou. But the splash she heard meant one thing – gator! Ready to turn and swim upstream, she felt an enormous bear-sized body land next to her as the man prepared to fight the cat. She wasn’t even sure he knew the gator was there. The gator knocked into the back of his legs and he was thrown on Katy, taking them both into the Sim barrier which she had been warned to avoid. He tossed her into a cave and kissed her.

By the rules of the hunt, she was not captured until he collared and leashed his prey. Instead he continued kissing her until purple tentacles came up out of the water and Katy teleported away, exiting the Virtual Reality world.

This was definitely a different kind of shifter story for me. I loved the way it started, especially the excitement of the VR hunter-prey scenario. The story was well written, the characters well developed, and the origin history of the shifters and humans was very unique and clever. But my personal distaste for BDSM, no matter how mild, prevented me from enjoying the book as I otherwise might have. Despite my own personal dislikes, I do not hold it against the author in any way. I voluntarily reviewed this book and my comments reflect my honest opinion.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book and I'm so glad I did!!!

This was the first Nara Malone I've read and will now look for more, I love this world she has created. This was a new take on shifter lore that is very well thought out and done well. Her use of a virtual reality world brings it to a very current time.
I love a strong female lead and Katy is that, she can hold her own with the best. Add her own issues that she fights to contain even when faced with three bears wanting her. Grizz, Oso, and Kodie are a perfect blend of male and beast and just what Katy needs!
There are some sexy parts to the book as well as erotica-menage but it is all done with taste and class, it all fits the tale and does not feel out of place.

I read rather quickly so this was a short read for me ( I tend to go for larger reads and pass on the short ones) but I was drawn in and felt there are many places the tale can go. I cannot wait for more of this series!!!

*** I would have loved a bit more of a back story of the virtual meeting with each guy but it's my hope that maybe there will be 3 prequels to come along at some point!! (hint hint!!!)***

I received a copy from Troll River Publications and I voluntarily review this book.

3.5 stars (rounded up for Kodie, Oso, and Grizz)

This was my first Nara Malone book. I regretfully it did not do my research before agreeing to read this book and later found out it was the third book of a series. So, for the first few chapters I was a little lost. The author does give some background on the Pantherian people so that you are not completely lost. The sisters story seemed to detract from the overall story, as it seemed like we only received part of their backstory. However, the overall story of Kodie, Grizz, Oso, and Katy was interesting and held my attention. I liked the inclusion of the game and its' unique control wiring that makes it truly interactive. The story ends abruptly and leaves some dangling threads that those looking for a neatly concluded happy ever after story will find a little disappointing. Overall I would say that it is a good story but not great.

I received a free copy from the author in exchange for a honest review. I have not connection to the author.

A very good short book. I am not a fan of multiple partners relationships, but as long as everyone is happy live and let live. I am impressed Nara Malone's writing and enjoyed the book. Even though it is only 99 pages the book is quite detailed. The characters are written very well, and the hot passages are just that sizzling. My only criticism of this book is that I think the ending was a bit rushed. I know this is the first/introduction book to the series, but I would have liked a few more loose ends to be tied up. With all the material let it sounds like this is going to be a long series, everyone has a part and everyone has secrets. I am looking forwards to seeing what happens next.

Wow! I loved this book!
Three hunky Pantherian (a race of shifters that call an area around the Bermuda triangle home), bear shifters have found a mate in geeky Katy/Katya but they've only met her in a multi player on-line game called Quarterz.Their avatars in the game have hot sex & they want to repeat that in real life & make her theirs.
They plan to bring the virtual experience to reality so they can win her. Both parties, however, have secrets, she doesn't know they're shifters in real life & her secret could finish the relationship before it starts.
My only criticism is that although the story finishes it doesn't tie up all the loose ends as there are further books in the series.

The Grizzly's Tale was not really what I was expecting. Grizz, Oso, and Kodie are bear shifters here to find their ate. They have met Katya who is all about being the prey but finding ways to outsmart the hunters. Katya has her own secrets about who she is.

The issue with this book? there isn't enough back story and too many characters that play part of big picture but you do not really have any idea who they are. I'm just a little lost with this one.

I'm new to reading Ms. Malone's work but it was an over all pleasant story. It was slow going for me for the first one or two chapters but then it took off. Katy plays in a virtual reality world, Quarterz, against Oso, Kodie and Grizz. She is the prey to their hunters. When they decide to meet in real life Katy made an offer she cannot refuse- actually be in the hunter instead of the prey. There is one slight catch, the 3 men are also bears. Will Katy be able to play and not fall in love?

I was drawn in to this book by the blurb. Once I started reading it I did loose a little interest in it bc of the technical side. The book is very well written and is very interesting once I gave it a chance. I am glad that I finished it and didn't give up on it. The chemistry between the characters are off the charts and there are plenty of steamy scenes. Over all this book is a pretty good read.

This short read packs a lot in. The world the characters live in is well-developed and interesting. Katy is a great female lead. There are a lot of unique aspects to this book - the virtual world, genetically modified beings, the way the paranormal is presented to keep the reader engaged to the end. I received an ARC copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

An interesting idea, just a bit too much on the scientific side for my tastes. It is different from any other shifter story I've read, but I had trouble getting immersed in the story. It is well written and very steamy, so if your tastes lean more toward the sci-fi aspect, then this is one to check out.
