This how-to book explains how to create origami paper art, a tradition originating from Japan. WIth step-by-step pictures to guide the reader, it begins with simple projects that students age 8-14 can easily follow and learn. As the book progresses, the projects increase in complexity and number of steps. The strength of this book is the ease of directions. Picture directions and simple captions guide the reader through without confusion. This is a great place to start for those interested in art and origami. After completing this program, students can look for other titles like "Origami Intermediate" and continue developing their skills of artistic expression and knowledge of cultural tradition.
