About the author

Ibn-e-Safi (also spelled as Ibne Safi) (Urdu: ابنِ صفی) was the pen name of Asrar Ahmad (Urdu: اسرار احمد), a best-selling and prolific fiction writer, novelist and poet of Urdu from Pakistan. The word Ibn-e-Safi is an Arabian expression which literally means Son of Safi, where the word Safi means chaste or righteous. He wrote from the 1940s in India, and later Pakistan after the partition of British India in 1947.

His main works were the 126-book series Jasoosi Dunya (The Spy World) and the 120-book Imran Series, with a small canon of satirical works and poetry. His novels were characterized by a blend of mystery, adventure, suspense, violence, romance and comedy, achieving massive popularity across a broad readership in South Asia.

This is a murder mystery laced with some romance between Hameed and Shahnaz. The story, other than providing a mystery to be solved, focuses on various character types prevalent in the society. I loved that about Ibn-e-Safi's writing. That could just be me, though.

One of the good things about these early Ibn e Safi novels is how quick and easy they are to read.Hameed is now coming into his own,his character is developing and so is his humour.A fun read.

جاسوسی دنیا کی مزے دار بات یہ ہے کہ اس میں دونوں مرکزی کردار یعنی فریدی اور حمید جاندار کردار ہیں ، حمید کا کام صرف مسخرہ پن نہیں بل کہ اس کا اصل کام سراغ رسانی ہے جس کے ساتھ وہ فریدی کی غیر موجودگی میں بھی وابستہ رہتا ہے اور خود سے سوچ کر کوئی نا کوئی راستہ نکال لیتا ہے یہ الگ بات ہے کہ فریدی کئی ہاتھ آگے ہے

جاسوسی دنیا سیریز کا یہ تیسرا ناول ہے اور یہ بھی ایک الجھے ہوئے قتل کے کیس کو سلجھانے کی کہانی ہے۔ فریدی یہاں بھیس تبدیل کئے زیادہ تر منظر سے غائب رہا ہے جبکہ حمید، وہیں، کیس کو اپنے طور پر سلجھانے میں مستعد نظر آتا ہے۔ کہانی بھی اچھی اور دلچسپ رہی۔

کافی پر لطف تجربہ رہا۔۔۔
