Trixie is a Mustang Prairie girl, born and raised. At least until her parents up and moved her to a commune in Oregon and far away from the love of her young life. Jack Thorpe.
But grownup Trixie is back in Mustang Prairie and ready for the next chapter in her life, which includes her lingerie store Under the Skirt and starting her own line of sexy lacy things. When her past collides with her present in the form of a tall, blonde artist, Trixie has to wonder if her girlish crush could be the answer to her grownup dreams?
Jack married his high school sweetheart, only it didn’t turn out so sweet and he never got to tell her it was over. Now he has to smile and pretend while the world goes on and on about how great Marissa was, especially now that he’d brought his girls back to Mustang Prairie for good.
The one bright spot in town was the new and improved girl next door. Little Trixie wasn’t so little and Jack was more than a little interested. Too bad he wasn’t interested in another round of the rollercoaster known as love and commitment.
Hey I'm Natasha and I love stories. I love to read them, to watch them and most of all I love to wrtie them. I find people endlessly fascinating and frustrating, which makes for the most interesting stories!
I also love politics and true crime so in addition to writing romance, I also write political satire & thrillers. It has been my dream to make a living as a writer since I was a kid and got lost in Judy Blume, The Babysitter's Club and Sweet Valley High (is my age showing?!?!). When I'm not writing I can be found engaging in one-sided conversations with Rachel Maddow, singing very loudly very badly and trying out new cuisines from around the world.
I love to laugh, I gave my husband a sappy pet name and I think answers to most of life's dilemma's can be found in an episode of Dawson's Creek.
My first series, Mustang Prairie, is small town romance because I feel they offer a variety of fun characters whose lives are interconnected. It is based loosely on my college town, which was the smallest town I've ever lived in...Go Panthers!
This must be a huge case of "It's me not you" given the other positive reviews, but I just didn't buy it.
This was my second chance for N.D. Jackson, and I think it boils down to she writes bad heroes. Not bad as in looming, cruel but obsessed Heathcliff types, but bad in the more mundane I'm sorry I forgot your birthday...here's some shabby flowers from Safeway to make up for it.
I mean he gets his nose out of joint that she couldn't be bothered to come to his big art show until someone points out he never told her about it. A love this will never die. Huh.
It's funny how small towns seem to have more drama than big towns. Maybe it's because everyone is in everyone's business. Mustang Prarie is no exception. First, let me say that I have not read books 1-3 and I do not feel like I have missed out on anything. This is part of a series but works well as a standalone. When Trixie moved back to town and opened a lingerie store, she really wanted to focus on her career and mend a broken heart. Then Jack re-enters her life and her plans get a little crazy. Trixie's character as a modern businesswoman who knows what she wants is spot-on. I enjoyed the banter between her and Jack and of course the romance was fun too. It was easy to "watch" this story play out in my head as I read it. I think one of the things I liked the most is the author used the characters' own faults to stir up the drama pot instead of relying on outside influences. It gave me a chance to really see the characters.
It Must be love by N.D. Jackson a lovely five-star read. This is the forth book in the Mustang Prairie series, and can be read as a stand-alone, but the series is set around the same group of characters so you may read spoilers if you read out of order. This book tells the story of little Beatrice Robinson who was born in Mustang Prairie but her parents moved her away to a commune in Oregon when she was a girl, she has been searching for something ever since she left there at 16 years old to go to college. She now goes by Trixie Beaumont, after a failed marriage she has returned to Mustang Prairie to start up her new business she designs, makes and sells ladies lingerie, in her little shop Under The Skirt. She sees her childhood crush who she used to follow around like a lost puppy, and it almost breaks her heart when he doesn’t recognise her and starts shouting at her after a mix up, and she shows her feisty side, gets up in his face, he may be a famous artist now but he’s still a man. Jack Thorpe is an artist; he’s had some success and has moved back to his home town with his two amazing daughters Abby and Andie so they can have some semblance of the idyllic childhood he had, after his wife passes away. He has a good group of friends and most knew his wife when they were younger so have some stories for his girls, only problem is he was to ashamed to admit to them that he wanted to call his marriage quits before his wife died. This means that some people are still under the impression that he doesn’t want to find love again as he is still pining for her, when he is more than ready to move on he just doesn’t want the headache that comes with love. N.D. Jackson writes funny and interesting characters that you can’t wait to see what will happen next with, I can’t wait for the next book.
While this is part of the A Mustang Prairie Romance series this can be read as a stand alone easily. Though you may as well start with the 1st in the series since this is some romance. Trixie is not your everyday broken hearted divorcee coming home to rebuild her life. She came home all grown up and hot with her own little lingerie shop. She's quite a character indeed and of course she is doing what makes her happy. Then we have Jack who has no desire for anything putting him back into a serious relationship plus of course he's taking care of his daughters. The lines get a tad blurry as Trixie and Jack were neighbors growing up and of course she has always loved him but will Jack's lack of wanting anything serious lead anywhere for them....
This story has a great storyline between these two with some great dialogue scenes and you can see how Jack truly loves his girls. Super cute chick lit. Funny and love is always a perfect combo to me!
I've read a few of N.D. s books and this rates high up on that scale. The characters are fun, the romance certainly doesn't lack pzazz, (did I spell that right, lol) and the small town togetherness of her books is all enveloping, but in this story there's a new element that I really loved, kids. Namely three young girls who are portrayed in a fashion that'll melt your heart. and the third Jonquil wilk blow your socks off with her unintended humour. She deserves a book all to herself. Another entertaining book from N.D. Jackson.
It Must Be Love is the first book that I have read by N.D Jackson but it is fourth in the Mustang Prairie Romance series and I can not wait to go back and read the rest. Even though I started this series late I was not lost or confused at all so you can completely read it as a stand-alone. Trixie moved back home after an ugly divorce and opened up her own lingerie shop in hopes of one day creating her own lingerie line. She is determined to start her life over for herself and not be pressured to make anyone else happy, and that is exactly what she has been doing, she even has a little apprentice, Abby Thorpe, the 10 year old daughter of Trixie’s biggest crush, Jack. Jack is unaware of the lessons that his daughter is taking from the hot pin up girl that owns a local lingerie shop, when he finds out…let’s just say that he doesn’t take it well. Only after he yells at Trixie and grounds his daughter does he realize that Trixie is actually Beatrice that used to live next door to him when they were kids. He is shocked on how much she has changed and soon realizes that he wants to know her more, but after losing his wife and going through the drama of a marriage she has no desire to ever have another relationship unless its completely casual. Trixie knows that she has loved him to long to be in a casual relationship with Jack. When lines get blurred and realizations come to late, will they ever have a real chance to see what could be? One click now and find out, you will not be disappointed.
I am in love with this story! Everything is just so gripping. I loved Trixie from the get go her wild nature, brains, and beauty just knocked it out of the park. Finding out about her past and her family issues as well as a crush on Jack her long time neighbor made me sad for her. I felt a connection with her, she was just trying to find herself and fit in and they were common struggles that all of us work for. Not only is Trixie all of the things that I mention but she is also genuine speaking her mind freely and without concern. Sure she is human like all of us and worries how things may be perceived but I loved her point of view. Jack was a sweetheart but he had a lot on his plate. The ghost of his deceased wife, two little girls, and an attraction to the not so new lady in town keeping him on his toes. Marissa, his ex wife, seemed to be a passing trend, she turned out not to be such a partner for Jack while on the outside appearing to have a great home. There are a lot of emotions and a lot of twists and turns that aren’t most people would not be ready for, but the author handled it all well and I felt myself getting drawn in so much so that by the end of it I felt like I had run a marathon and not just sat around reading all night. I love when a story can take me away and drop me into another life and that was something that I got to experience with Trixie and Jack.
Trixie returns to her home town with a lot of memories. Good memories and sad. Her childhood crush being a mix of both. She is starting her own business and finding her own way in the world. She has really hippie world loving parents that had moved her away and given her a very liberal childhood.
Jack married his childhood sweetheart, giving him two adorable girls, but leaving them suddenly. Jack had the globe marriage. The marriage that looks great on the outside but when you look closely there are a lot of cracks. No one really knows of his trouble with his wife while pursuing his dream of being a successful artist. This made me sad, no one should be married to someone that there isn't 100% love for each other.
Trixie and Jack end up together by way of his oldest daughter, who is curious about Trixie and her work. Abby wants help learning new skills and Trixie is ready to help.
After a lot of fighting and a lot of time together, Jack doesn't want another loveless marriage, a marriage where there is jealously and keeping score. He can only give Trixie so much.
Trixie was a girl who wouldn't accept the 'friends with benefits' but also couldn't say no when he showed up at her doorstep.
They eventually get all the kinks worked out and Jack surprisingly realizes that Trixie may be what he needs to be successfully.
This book setting is in a small town called Mustang Prairie and it makes you want to pack your bags and move. I love the description of this town and the people living in it. Usually when I read books set in small towns there's always someone who is looking to bring someone down or just nasty. I love that the townspeople of Mustang Prairie are all looking to help each other out in times of need and are each other's biggest cheerleaders. In the times we live in its would be nice to wake up and know someone always has your back without an ulterior motive.
Trixie came back to her hometown in the house she grew up in after her divorce to pursue her dreams of a lingerie shop. She dresses uniquely, but is known and loved for her style. She ends up back in the same small town of her first crush and boy she always loved. She ends up meeting one of Jack’s daughters before running into him again. Abby had been sneaking into her shop everyday and learning crochet from Trixie. Trixie had been able to avoid Jack and watch him from a distance since her return to Mustang Prairie. She wasn't sure her heart could handle getting crushed by him a second time.
Jack moved back to the house that was his childhood home with his two daughters after his wife passed away. Most people thought he had a fairytale marriage. Although he would never wish for his wife to have passed and his daughters to lose their mother, most people didn't know things weren't as they appeared from the outside looking in. Marissa had been jealous of his art success and wasn't as supportive as he felt a wife should have been.
Jack lost his inspiration and creativity with his art business after Marissa passed away. Now being back in Mustang Prairie and seeing some people from his past he starts to get new ideas, inspiration and his creativity flowing again. He's starting to get lost in his work again and feeling happier than he has in years.
Bring a small town you run into people even when trying to keep your distance. Jack was drawn to Trixie, but she was trying to keep her distance from him. Trixie knew Jack had his girls and was looking for a woman to pass the time with between painting and being a father. He wanted fun. Trixie wanted fun too, but she wanted the kind of fun that lead to love and lifelong commitment. Where Jack would move on when it wasn't fun anymore. She knew he lost his true love and she could never compete with Marissa's ghost. She promised herself she wouldn't get in another relationship she didn't come first in.
““You seem to have won my girls over Trixie.” Her smile faded to an emotionless expression he couldn’t read. “They’re great kids.” He agreed with that. Still, they hadn’t warmed up to any woman other than his mom since Marissa’s death yet they treated Trixie like they’d known her their whole lives. It was odd. Inexplicable. But his girls were so happy and he had no real objections other than his own attraction to her. “They are and they have excellent taste.””
“...Trixie didn’t think she could be rational or logical when it came to Jack. She’d loved him too long to be casual and that’s if she was a casual kind of girl, which she wasn’t. But the last thing she needed was to fall in love—for real—with Jack when he wouldn’t love her back.”

This was my first book by N.D. Jackson but OMG it won't be my last! I just went and bought the first three in the series and can't wait to dive into them.
Trixie grew up living a different lifestyle than most people, spending some of her life as part of a commune and maybe a little hippie. She is the type of woman though who can light up the entire room with just one smile. She has an energy about her that draws you to her and makes you feel like you want to be part of that world with her in it. Her last relationship has left her feeling uneasy and unsure of herself.
Jack is the hot and sexy kind of man that will make your knees weak! He was married to the love of his life and has two beautiful children. He had what everyone perceived as a once in a lifetime love that was ended too soon by tragedy. He has devoted his whole life to his sweet girls and that's all he has room for and never wants to experience "love" again. He holds on to a secret that he just can't allow anyone to find out about, especially now.
Trixie always had a crush on Jack as children but she was just the annoying little girl next door he never really saw. When she moves back to Mustang Prairie and they encounter each other for the first time it's not in the greatest setting and both are taken aback. They soon discover there is an undeniable chemistry between them and boy is the sex hot! Spending time as friends with benefits is just what Jack thinks he needs and wants, but can Trixie do casual and cut off? What happens when two people have different wants and desires?
It Must Be Love is a beautiful story about how two people have an idea of what love is but soon discover that maybe they really have no clue at all. Sometimes when you have had a life filled with disappointment in the love department, you realize that maybe it's because it was all leading you to the one you truly belong with, but is that the case with these two? Is there anything there past lust, desire, and fun? Can they overcome their past to find a future together? Only time will tell and you'll have to read the book.
ND Jackson does a wonderful job of bringing you the visualization of what is going on. You can see the bluest skies, the hot bodies, the way the clothes fit. You can feel what is happening and find yourself laughing and crying. I love that the author uses enough details but doesn't overdue it where it becomes long and boring and you are just sitting there waiting for the dang point. I love that the author builds several relationships and explores those, not just a potential love story but the friendships, the families, and everything in between. This book felt like a community and a community that anyone would want to be part of. I'm hoping we get to see more of these characters in follow up books.
It must be Love is the fourth book in the Mustang Prairie series by N.D Jackson. I hadn’t read any of Ms. Jacksons work before and am delighted by what I found reading this book. It is a witty, sweet, fun read and I will definitely be reading more from this author. Beatrice Beaumont (Trixie) is sexy, sassy, quirky and has a zany, unique sense of style. She grew up in Mustang Prairie and loved living there, especially living next door to the boy of her dreams. He was everything to her; she always thought they would end up together- only problem was he didn’t really pay her much attention. Then her alternative parents moved the family to a commune and Trixie had to leave Mustang Prairie behind- along with her heart. She learned a lot in her time away, but has returned to her home town after getting a divorce; for a fresh start- and to realise her dream of owning a Lingerie shop and designing her own line of intimate apparel. Jack Thorpe is a successful and well known artist. He married his high school sweetheart and has two adorable little girls. Everyone thought he had a perfect, ideal life- only in his reality things were far from ideal. Jack moved his family back to Mustang Valley after his wife died and he is trying to reignite his creativity and passion for painting. He has his two girls to look after- he isn’t remotely interested in doing the whole ‘love and relationship’ thing ever again. When Jack and Trixie run into each other, the sparks started to fly! The chemistry was off the charts! All of Trixie’s feelings for Jack came rushing back and he had to remind himself that he was only interested in casual fun. Can Trixie do casual after everything she’s been through? Will Jack be able to move past his past hurt and realise that what he feels for Trixie is so much more than he’s ever felt before? Can they work it out before it’s too late? First of all, I love the town of Mustang Prairie- the author painted a vividly detailed picture of the town and the lovely people who live there. The townsfolk were so friendly, supportive and nice- the story had a wonderful ‘community feel’ to it. There were parts of the story where I was laughing out loud and other points that made me tear up. But mostly it was a fun, light-hearted and easy read. The author writes so beautifully- the characters especially, they are really well developed and entirely likeable. I just wanted to get to know them all, be in their circle of friends. The book was paced really well and flowed so smoothly. It was really easy to read, I avidly devoured it in an afternoon. It is told from a duel POV and can be read as a standalone, and has a HEA. I look forward to seeing what this talented author produces next.

You will find yourself falling for both of these two and wanting to see them finally decide what they want.
This is my first read by N.D. Jackson. N.D. Jackson has always tried to find a way to mix her two great loves–politics and romance–into her stories. On a personal level, she has a deep and abiding love for cooking, crime documentaries, music and British comedy. She loves to travel and plans to incorporate them into a new series coming soon. When she’s not writing or ghostwriting, N.D. can be found singing along to Adele off-key, trying new things and butchering the German language. Or the Dutch language. This story is a fast page read that will have you turning page after page. You will have a need to find out what happens with them. I highly suggest this story as I know you will love this story as much as I have.
4 Star Review It Must Be Love by N.D. Jackson is part of the Mustang Prairie Romance Series. It can be read as a standalone novel and is told in alternating points of view by the two main characters, Trixie and Jack. It’s a sweet, sexy, and incredibly sassy story about childhood friends who are now adults living in the same town.
Trixie grew up in Mustang Prairie but then one day her parents up and moved her to a commune in Oregon. Although she’s learned many worldly things being away, now that she’s all grown up she wants nothing more than to start a lingerie shop in her hometown.
After running into her childhood neighbor and crush, Jack, all of her old feelings towards him start rushing back. But, she needs to keep her attention on her real passion-running her store and not on the tall, gorgeous man her mind doesn’t want to stop thinking about.
“Jack was trouble, plain and simple. Trixie needed to remember that.”
Widower and artist Jack Thorpe has been married once and never wants any kind of relationship now. Between his artwork and raising his daughters, he just wants to keep things fun and no strings attached with women. When he notices the petite bombshell beauty running the lingerie store, he is immediately drawn to her. And after finding out who she is, his intrigue is at an all-time high.
“After having a taste of Trixie, he couldn’t even think about another woman. No other woman would do. It had to be her.”
Jack is a determined man and he wants Trixie. But, she doesn’t seem to want him now that he’s older. He pursues her offering a no strings attachment with him. As they keep up the charade, Trixie becomes more involved in his daughters lives and Jack has a new muse and his creativity with painting has never been better.
“Addiction was a very serious illness and Trixie was pretty sure she was an addict. Her drug of choice was sex. With Jack. She didn’t have an official diagnosis but it was the only explanation for why she ignored her good sense and kept falling into bed with him despite his resistance to commitment.”
But, how long is a girl like Trixie willing to keep things no strings attached before moving on? Is Jack able to move past his fear of another relationship?
If you’re looking for a sexy and fun filled romance novel with a happily ever after, then I would highly recommend It Must Be Love. Jackson does a great job of character development and I can’t wait to read more in this series.
4 star review I loved this book! It Must Be Love is the fourth book in the Mustang Prairie series by N.D. Jackson. The story was so sweet but also full of steamy moments and times where I was laughing out loud! I just totally fell in love with the characters and as this is my first read by this author I will definitely be looking for the other books in the series. The story is about Trixie who was born and raised in Mustang Prairie until her parents moved her to a commune in Oregon and away from the love of her life, Jack Thorpe. Now grown up Trixie is back in Mustang Prairie to begin the next chapter in her life which includes opening a lingerie store and designing her own line of sexy underwear! When her past collides with her present in the form of a tall, blonde artist, Trixie had to wonder if her girlish crush could be the answer to her grownup dreams. It think Trixie was my favourite character in the story – I don’t know what it was about her but I instantly felt drawn to her as soon as I started reading the book. I just desperately wanted her to get what she deserved and for me that was Jack! She adored his little girls and she just wanted him to finally be hers especially after all those years where he never knew she existed, well not in the way she wanted him to! Jack – what can I say about Jack! I loved him, I hated him and then I loved him again! Clearly affected by his marriage to Marissa I found myself screaming at the book many times for him to realise that Trixie was not in any way like Marissa! I just wanted him to take a chance on a real relationship with her so that he could see his idea of a loving relationship was clouded by his previous one! I have to admit this author had me captivated form the very beginning and it really felt like I was living this story right along with the characters. The writing was amazing, the level of the description enabled me to complete imagine what I was reading from the scenery, to the lingerie that Trixie was designing to what things they were making in their knitting classes! I also loved the community feel I got from the story – I would love to live somewhere like Mustang Prairie (plus it does seem to have a high percentage of delicious men living there!!) A fantastic read that I definitely recommend! You will certainly fall in love with the characters that’s for sure!
This is the 4th book in the Mustang Prairie series and focuses on the lives of Beatrice Robinson who now goes by Trixie and Jack Thorpe. This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought the book was pretty good.
Jack and Beatrice (Trixie) grew up next door to eachother and Trixie was always inlove with Jack until he returned home from college with his girlfriend Marissa at the time. They looked so happy and Trixie knew that was it. Her long time crush would never be hers. Trixie's parents were hippies and picked up and moved to a commune when she was a teenager.
Here they are years later both back in the same town.
Jack is a widow with 2 young daughters. Trixie is divorced and owns a lingerie store in town. Jacks oldest daughter Abby likes to go visit her at the store and get help with stitching orbwhatever. Trixie is always willing to help.
One day Jack gets a call that Abby never made it to school and starts to freak out. He finds his daughter in this lingerie shop and yells at the owner accusing her of letting his daughter be there all day and not go to school. Jack doesn't even recognize Trixie yet. The biggest shock was when he realized this red headed bombshell, the sexiest women he'd ever seen in real life, was the little girl with the lopsided pigtails and gap toothed grin who sent him Valentines every year until he brought Marissa home. Trixie tries to keep her distance from Jack but it's hard when they have the same group of friends. It even gets harder when they end up living next door to eachother in the homes they grew up in. Jack wants Trixie but isnt looking for anything serious. He wants something casual and Trixie wants to find love. Every time she backs away, he comes at her harder. It's so hard to walk away when it's the one person you have loved most of your life. Everyone tells Jack to back off of Trixie and let her find her happily ever after since he's not looking for the same thing. Jack finds it harder and harder to let go but Trixie is not willing to settle. They see a lot of eachother because now aside from them being neighbors Jonquil, Abby and Andie are always together. Will Jack commit to Trixie or will she find love with someone else?
It Must Be Love, by author N.D. Jackson, is the fourth book in the Mustang Prairie series. This is the first book I’ve read of the series. It can be read alone, but I would highly recommend also reading the author books in the series to learn some of the back stories of some of the quirky and fun supporting characters in the story. N.D. Jackson made this a fun and fully involved story.
Trixie was born and raised in Mustang Prairie, but her parents uprooted her and moved her to a commune in Oregon – which took her away from her childhood crush, Jack. Years later, grown up, Trixie has moved back to Mustang Prairie to start a new chapter in her life to include her lingerie store, Under the Skirt.
Jack is back in Mustang Prairie, leaving his former life behind, hoping to give his girls the type of childhood he had. Little did he know that he would become reacquainted with the little girl next door all grown up and more desirable than he could have possibly imagined. However, he’s not interested in anything to do with love or commitment. With that in mind, will that make or break whatever transpires between these two?
N.D. Jackson knows how to write a story that engages the reader. There are fun quirks throughout this story with a ton of subtle and hilarious humor mixed in. I loved Trixie’s character; her personality is fully developed and stays true throughout the story. She is so well written that you can honestly picture what she would look like and how she’d act if she were next to you. Jack is so wishy washy through this story, but as the reader, we know part of why that is – but it doesn’t deter from the fact that at times you just want to smack him on the back of the head and ask “Really?”
I did enjoy reading this story and have added this author’s previous books in the series to my “To Be Read” list. I highly recommend this story to anyone looking for a great story that will have you laughing, but at the same time hoping against hope that something good transpires for one who doesn’t necessarily have the greatest luck in the area of love.
This book is part of a series but it can be read as a stand alone. Trixie was born and raised in Mustang Prairie until her parents decide to move to a commune. They take her far far away from her next door neighbor and love of her life as a little girl.
Trixie is back in Mustang grown and sexy looking for a new start. She owns her own lingerie store and has decided it is now time to start her own line of sexy underthings. Trixie is working hard on her store and wants to concentrate solely on her store and her clothing line being successful.
Jack Thorpe married his high school sweetheart, unfortunately his friends and family don't know that their marriage wasn't as sweet as everyone thought it was. He will not tell them though he will just smile and pretend that everything was fine between them rather than let anyone know the truth, he has two little girls to think about anyway.
Jack receives the phone call that no parent wants to receive. His sweet little girl did not show up to her busy bee meeting after school. Now where in the world could she possibly be? He calls his old friend who is a cop and they immediately start the search for her. They find her in all places the back room of Trixie’s lingerie store. Her father is Livid! Not only because she was not where she was expected to be but because of all things she is in a lingerie store. He feels this is no room for a child and how dare the woman over there allow this. He decides he needs to give her a piece of his mind.
Trixie’s heart is racing because the love of her young life is hollering at her for his child being in her store. She understands that he is upset because he did not know where his daughter was. She wished that her would understand that she just trying to be helpful to his daughter by helping her learn how to knit. Truth be told she is a little upset in the fact that he does not remember her at all.
This was a fun read with a few little twist. It tugs on your heartstrings and pushes you to keep hoping for things that seem impossible.
Trixie Beaumont has always had a crush on Jack Thorpe. Ever since she was a little girl and lived next door to him. She always imagined her and Jack together. That is until Jack ended up with Marissa. She was devastated.
Her parents were not like conventional parents. They were hippies and decided to up and move to a commune. They left Mustang Prairie for a whole new life.
Jack Thorpe a successful and well know artist is back in his hometown now. He decided to come back after his wife Marissa died thinking this is where he belonged now and it was the perfect place to raise his two daughters Abby and Addie.
Trixie is also back after a failed marriage she had decided to come back and has opened a lingerie shop, but her dream is to design her own line of lingerie line.
This is where she firsts meets Jack again at her shop. His daughter Abby has been visiting the store and Trixie has been teaching her to make clothes. When Jack discovers his daughter has been going there he is not happy.
Jack can’t believe that the Trixe living here is his former neighbour. She is stunning and sexy as hell and the attraction he feels for her is instant.
Trixie is also stunned to realise that her crush for Jack is now that of a grown woman.
But Jack is wary of attempting another relationship again. Things with Marissa had not been all roses. So he resists all he can. But in the process he ends up hurting Trixie.
Trixie want’s more and she deserves more.
Will Jack realise what he feels for Trixie is love? He fights it because he thought he knew what love was and that is what he had with Marissa and he really does not want another part of it. But now he knows what he had with Marissa is nothing like he feels for Trixie.
You will fall in love with the town and all the people who live here. The characters are funny as hell and you can imagine living in a place surrounded by people like this.
It Must Be Love is the fourth book in the Mustang Prairie series by N.D. Jackson and the first one I read. But no worries, it can be read as a stand alone book too. Trixie was born in Mustang Prairie and raised that was until her hippie parents moved to a commune in Oregon. Trixie is the friend that is their for everyone, always helping them and making them feel good. Trixie is very nervous about relationships because of her bad divorce.
Jack is the man that Trixie used to dream about and a huge childhood crush on when she was living in Mustang Prairie. Jack never paid any mind to Trixie when they were young. That was then, but definitely not now. Trixie is not that awkward little girl anymore, she is hot, sexy and spicy. Jack lost his wife and brought his 2 young daughters back to Mustang Prairie to be raised. Jack’s oldest daughter has been sneaking into Trixie’s sexy lingerie shop so she can learn to sew, that was going on for a month without Jack knowing. That was until he thought she was missing and something terrible happened. Jack lost it with Trixie. Then realized who it was and could not believe that was the little girl who use to live next door.
Trixie and Jack have both been through so much, but can they bring themselves together in a relationship or will they be friends with benefits or completely ignore each other? Trixie tries everything to avoid Jack but living in a small town he usually turns up wherever she is but can she turn him down. The fire between the two is very real.
N.D. Jackson does a terrific job making you feel what Trixie and Jack are going through. The descriptions help you visualize what she describes especially the sexy lingerie from Trixie’s shop. N.D. Jackson makes Mustang Prairie feel like a small country town where you as the reader would want to live and raise a family. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from N.D. Jackson.
It Must Be Love: A Mustang Prairie Romance Book 4 by N.D. Jackson 4 Stars This is the first book I’ve read by N.D. Jackson and while it is the 4th book in the Mustang Prairie series, each can be read as a standalone. Now that I’ve read book 4, I’m going back to read 1-3 because I just fell in love with this town. The community, the characters, the families and the friends are all what small town living is all about, right? And while the community is tight knit, they are welcoming to newcomers, outsiders, stragglers and the like. THAT’S the feeling I got when I read this story. It felt like a great big Mustang Prairie hug. Sure this is the story of Trixie and Jack who grew up in Mustang Prairie and left town young. Trixie because her parents joined a commune (her parents crack me up through the entire story) and Jack because he and his girlfriend went off to college. After moving from town, both of their lives did not turn out the way they wanted them to – so back to Mustang Prairie they go. Because, as we all know, you really CAN go home again. I would love to go on and on and complete recap the book for you, but I won’t. What I will tell you is that the characters are well developed. The “secondary” characters (friends, colleagues, townsfolk) are explained in such a way that while you miss not knowing their entire story, it does not take away from THIS story. This story reminded me of Hope Falls by Melanie Shawn or Gansett Island by Marie Force. A really enjoyable, multi layered, romance with HEA. SIDE NOTE: I loved the descriptions of Trixie's clothing. I would love to be able to dress like Trixie does. (it reminded me of Emma Stone's character in LaLaLand - retro yet updated and sexy) I also LOVE that Trixie owns her body. She is not ashamed of her curves and I'm grateful to the author for making sure the reader knew that!!
It Must Be Love by N.D Jackson is the fourth book in the Mustang Prairie series but can be read as a standalone. I haven't read the first three books yet and was still able to follow along. This is the first book I've read from this author and it definitely won't be the last! From the laugh out loud scenes to the ones that had me tear up, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
Trixie Beaumont aka Beatrice Robinson grew up in Mustang Prairie next door to her childhood crush Jack. She had followed him around mooning over him and he never really bothered with her. When her parents had decided to move to Oregon, it broke her heart having to go. Fast forward quite a few years and Trixie is back in her hometown. She's owns her own business and is looking forward to designing women's lingerie. When she sees Jack for the first time, he doesn't even realize it's her-which breaks her heart. Trixie still has feelings for him but knows it can never go anywhere. But when she starts falling in love with not only him but his daughters, is she only setting herself up for heartbreak?
Jack Thorpe seems to have it all from the outside looking in. He’s a famous artist and has two beautiful little girls that keep him on his toes. After the passing of his wife, his art has suffered until Trixie comes into his life. With her unique clothing, her love of life, Jack is helpless to falling in love with her. But he won't admit it. Will he be able to give away his heart again or will he be too late?
OH MY GOSH!!! I loved this book! ND Jackson wrote such an amazing story. Not only about love, but friendships and relationships that shape you into who you are. Jack and Trixie’s story was beautiful and the emotions you feel while reading it are wide-ranging. I cannot wait to read more from this series and more from this author!
It Must Be Love, A Mustang Prairie Romance, by ND Jackson. This was definitely a 5 star read for me!!! I fell in love with this story from the beginning, throw in sexy lingerie, the sparks between Trixie and Jack and also a couple little blonde haired cuties and this was a perfect book. Trixie moved back to Mustang Prairie after her divorce. She moved away when she was younger to a commune in Oregon with her parents. Moving home, she just wants some normalcy. She opens up her lingerie boutique and she feels as all is good. She has her business and her friends, what more can she ask for. Jack moves home with his daughters after the death of his wife. He is glad to be back around his family and friends. Hoping to get back into the swing of things and start painting again, all he needs is to find something to get him motivated. When his oldest daughter doesn't show up to her extra curricular club meeting one night, he fears the worse. When she is found hanging out with Trixie in her lingerie boutique, learning how to sew, he loses his mind and takes it out on Trixie. The sparks that are flying between these two is amazing and the sex is off the charts. Jack finds his motivation and it is Trixie. Too bad they want totally different things from this relationship that they have. Trixie has always been in love with Jack from when she was younger and even now. She thinks he doesn't even know she exists let alone even like her. Can they finally be together or will they end up going their separate ways? This was the first book by this author that I have read. There are other books in the series that take place before this one. I did not feel like I really missed out by not reading them before this book. I do plan on going back and catching up with the others tho!! Take a trip to Mustang Prairie, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!
IT MUST BE LOVE (Mustang Prairie #4) AUTHOR: N.D. JACKSON
FIVE STARS
IT MUST BE LOVE is the fourth book in N.D. Jackson’s “Mustang Prairie Series”. This is the first book by N. D. Jackson I have read, but it won’t be my last: I really like her style! I enjoyed IT MUST BE LOVE’s characters so much that I am going to go back and start with the first book.
IT MUST BE LOVE can be read as a stand alone, but I do feel you lose some valuable background if you don’t read them in order.
Nestled in the heart of Mustang Prairie you will find the most delightful, caring people and love blooming in the air. I love small town romance and Natasha delivers a wonderful sweet love story of second chances.
Trixie was raised in the cozy, small town of Mustang Prairie until her hippie parents moved her to a commune in Oregon. Several years later after Trixie’s divorce, she returns to the hometown she loved as a child. She has always had a passion for style and opens her own lingerie shop, Under The Skirt.
Jack is a highly successful artist who married his childhood sweetheart. She was jealous of his career and not very supportive. This caused a lot of trouble between them and Jack was ready to end their marriage when his wife passed away. He moves back to his childhood home to raise his two adorable daughters, Abby and Andie.
Trixie has had a huge crush on Jack since she was a child living next door. She tries to avoid him now that they are back in the same town because she thinks she can’t compete with the love of his life, his deceased wife. Trixie longs for commitment and she feels he is only looking for fun. They are so attracted to each other you can practically feel the sparks.
Will Trixie get the life with Jack she has always wanted? Will Jack give love a second chance?

It Must Be Love by ND Jackson is a four star read for me. This was a sweet, fun, book full of some "will they won't they" angst. Trixie and Jack have known each other their whole lives but Trixie just moved back to town. She has certainly caught some eyes with her return as well.
Trixie is such a sweetheart. She owns her a lingerie business but takes the time to help teach Jack's daughter sewing some tips for her knitting and sewing projects. She even holds a class for the whole town. She's loved Jack for what feels like her whole life and he's never really noticed. Trixie was a little different then most people which is proven when her parents move her to a commune. But now Trixie is all grown up and her crush seems like it could be so much more.
"It was no surprise Jack didn’t remember her, she was nothing but a pest to him back then, a bug to be swatted. Jack didn’t know she was alive back when she pined after him, wished on the moon and the stars that one day he would hers. Nope, he’d only had eyes for Marissa back then. And later."
Jack Thorpe moved back to town with his daughters. When he sees Trixie again he is blown away. He doesn't realize how Trixie feels about him but when he does he persues her hard. One problem though..he doesn't do love anymore. He doesn't handle things the way they should be handled at all. He makes some mistakes.
"Why did he have to look so handsome, smiling down at her like he was proud of her, hell like he had any right to be proud of her. Ignoring those smiling brown eyes she’d loved nearly all her life, she brushed past him."
This book was very well written in dual POV. You can feel the characters hurt and pain and love. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend to anyone.
N.D. Jackson did amazing in this beautifully, romantic book about two people who grew up with one another but never truly connected with one another. Jack and Trixie had lived next to one another for many years and known one another.
Though Trixie was the awkward girl next door who never was able to express herself completely because her parents did not understand her love for making clothes. She was in love with Jack until she was moved away from Mustang Prairie.
Jack had married his high school sweetheart, someone he thought that he was going to spend the rest of his life with, happily. Until everything changed on him.
Now he’s back as well in his hometown. Trixie is beautiful, full of life and of course knows what she is. Jack well he is different. A man raising two daughters on his own and as a single parents his real reason to live is his daughters. What happens all your feelings come rushing back. The ones you thought would be hidden deep down in the small parts of your body away from everything.
None of that happens though. You can see the chemistry with Jack and Trixie. You can tell that they mean alot to one another and when Trixie hangs out with his daughter and starts to teach her about making clothing (though not her sexy lingerie) you can tell that she would make an amazing mother.
Nothing is easy though. Life throws you in a spin when you think you have everything figured out. I fell in love with these guys because they were so easy to love. Not only Jack was a good guy but his daughter’s made him even more lovable.
It Must be Love is a cute story about Trixie and Jack. Trixie has loved Jack since she was a child. But he only saw her as the weird kid next door. They both “fall in love” with other people, get married and realize that this really isn’t what love is. They both then move back home to Mustang Prairie to start over and boy do the sparks fly! But what does all this chemistry mean? Will they just be friends with benefits? A one night stand? Is this lust left over from Trixie’s childhood crush or is there really something more? Can either of them let their guard down enough to see what will happen when it really must be love? No spoilers here, but just know that this story and author is worth the time spent. This is book 4 in the Mustang Prairie Romance series, which means there are more stories about this group of people!! I have not read the first three books, but I can not wait to get them! I was able to read this story with no problem understanding who was who. I could tell that some of the characters had to have had their own story and the characters that didn’t have their own, should! Most of the characters were funny. Especially when Trixie tries to stay away from Jack. Nothing is as easy as we deserve it to be. There were some surprises that lead me to believe there will be more stories which is good because I must read more about Jonquil and her parents and even old lady Luna! It Must be Love is a fun easy read with funny, sexy characters. Highly recommended!
It Must be Love by N.D. Jackson is the fourth story in the Mustang Prairie Romance series. I have not read the other stories as they are all standalones but after reading this book, I can’t wait to dive in and immerse myself farther into the lives of these intriguing people in this wonderful series. This starts out as a “typical” romance story of a man and woman with a history trying to navigate the situation they find themselves in and then before you know it, you are completely in awe of what these people have overcome and their motivation for moving forward. Tragedy does not always mean the end of your life as you know it, sometimes when a door closes a window really does open. Trixie moves back to her childhood home town to rediscover herself and set herself to rights. Jack, her childhood crush, also moved back to raise his two precocious kids as best as he can. As their paths cross and their friendship progresses we see magic happen. This is not your typical romance story, there is depth and complications, mainly stubbornness but it reads true. This is something that my friends have gone through and it was nice to be able to relate to the story that I was reading. This was a subtly complex story. It didn’t try too hard in my opinion to keep me interested, it just was interesting. It was refreshing to see the characters come from different backgrounds, some that are not usually featured in books and I think that is what made this a five-star book for me. I laughed, I cried and I am left wanting more. I couldn’t ask for more.
Title: It Must be love Author:ND Jackson Series: Mustang Prairie #4
It Must be Love was a great 5 star read and book 4 in the Mustang Prairie series.
This is Trixie and Jack’s story. When Trixie was younger her family lived next to Jack’s, she developed a crush on him but someone else had his attention.Trixie ended up moving away and so did Jack.
We jump ahead to Trixie owning her own lingerie shop, Under the Skirt. She ends up meeting Abby, who is the daughter of her high school crush Jack. Trixie is newly divorced and moved back to her hometown to rediscover herself.
Jack has recently moved back to town with his daughters. When Jack sees Trixie for the first time he didn’t realize who she was at first. He was kind of a jerk to her.
It was no surprise Jack didn’t remember her, she was nothing but a pest to him back then, a bug to be swatted.
I really enjoyed Trixie’s feistiness and the relationship she developed with Jack's daughters. Jack isn’t looking for a relationship but he can’t get Trixie out of his head. He only wants a casual but Trixie want’s more, can Jack give her more?
There is so much more to this great read. N.D. Jackson pulls you right in with her writing. The secondary characters added a great element to the story, Sadie was funny. This was my first read from this author and I loved it. It can be read as a stand alone, and we do get to see a HEA. I actually wouldn’t mind seeing more from these two in the future. Thank you N.D. Jackson for a great read. 1-click and get started today.
