Introducing young readers to the world of photography, a collection of twelve color and black-and-white pictures of children includes the works of noted photographers and provides information on understanding perspective, color, composition, and more. IP.
For some reason this was dropped from the series when the rights transferred to Charlesbridge. A shame, as it's quite good. As an adult, I could perhaps wish for better known images or more big name photographers, but the selection is designed for children and it's great. All the images include children as subjects, and the photographs progress chronologically: 1854, 1899, 1946, 1950, 1951, 1967, 1972, 1981, 1987, 1991, 1992, 1993.
We enjoyed this one, and I’m glad I got to show the kids a new art form. It’s not my absolute favorite of the series, but there were several photographs in here that we really loved.
This is a book of photographs that young kids can relate to because the images are of other children. Questions are included to ask the children about the photograph as well as background information on the image and photographer. This would be great to read as a group and encourage group discussions.
This is a book of photographs of children to be shared with a child. There are suggested questions to ask the child about the photographs. I enjoyed looking at the photographs but found the questions boring. I did love some of the photographs though.
